Has anyone successfully used a mantle mount with a Frame?

I want to be able to lower the TV below the mantle but preserve the flush-mount when not in use. I have access to the drywall behind where the mount would go and could build a recess. Not sure how the frame mount would play with a VESA mount, but I'm thinking I could mount the TV to a plywood plate and then mount the plate to the mantle mount.

Has anyone done this and can share details/plans/mount models?

Angel From Montgomery time signature

The original first-album version of Angel came up on my shuffle and I realized I couldn't sing along at first, as the arrangement has a couple of missing beats in each verse compared to the live version and all the cover versions.

Musicians: what time signature is this, exactly? I was counting sevens and fives but I suspect it's more of an ad-hoc thing? It jumped out as it's so unusual for Prine to do anything fancy-like.

G-code flavor?

Starting to explore more advanced settings for my second-hand Prusa Mini.

In PrusaSlicer I see a setting for "G-code flavor" -- the default seems to be Marlin2, but I see options for RepRap and Klipper, which I seem to have seen mentioned often in the subs. I assume these are for if you want to use PrusaSlicer to create code for non-Prusa printers and that I should leave it at Marlin2?

QX Revo won't charge -- cooked?

Ruby got tangled in something and by the time I got home was asking to be charged. Moved to the base and manually docked but no charging indicated. Base has power since LEDs come on when buckets removed. Contacts are clean on both sides. Am I missing anything obvious or is it time to file a warranty claim?

Finally pulled the trigger on a Frame (I know, I know)

I understand the limitations of such a display, worth it to have an art TV mode in my situation.

Was about to buy a HiSense Canvas from BestBuy but Costco just dropped the price on the 2025 Frame 65" (non-pro) to $999 and I have an extra $100 because I am buying another appliance at the same time. With the Costco 5-year warranty included it seems like a no-brainer.

Plan to use my existing Roku rather than the Samsung UI as much as possible.

I already have a power outlet and wire chase behind the TV, but I will need to modify my wall -- right now I have a "cubby" in the wall where the existing TV goes that will need to be made smaller to allow for flush mounting.

Two specific questions:

- does anyone have a link to the mounting template; want to be sure I only have to mess with the drywall once.

- the Oneconnect box will be in a closed (ventilated) cabinet that has an IR repeater inside. I'm assuming it's all IR right? Does anyone know if the codes are standard Samsung, or what the Device code for a universal remote is?

Thanks all

Why do you think nobody has tried a competing show in forever?

With the season done I got to wondering why nobody has tried a topical sketch show (live or otherwise) in so many years. There seems to be a neverending parade of behind the desk and news-format comedy shows but I can't recall the last sketch-based satire show that tried to maintain pace with current events.

It seems like an obvious play for Comedy Central or one of the streaming channels. SNL UK proves it can be done with quality, but even an off-season Temu SNL would be interesting to see.

I just got a full-on red band (R rated) movie trailer as an ad during the hockey game.

Never had that happen before, took me a minute to register the F-bombs. Fluke, error, new policy?

Pretty cardinal has been coming around. But is it male or female?

Seems likely female but the other local females are much less colorful.

TOTW: Anti-grams

Thanks to PierreSheffield for picking my innocent little clue as the winner from his NSFW-ish contest.

For this week, the theme is Anagram Misdirection aka Anti-grams -- by which I mean clues that *look* like they utilize anagrams but don't.

Of course misdirection is less effective when we all know the brief, but let's see who can come up with the most anagram-signaling non-anagram clue.

I have a second-hand Mini with low hours that I've gotten into fighting trim.

I'm getting a Heatbed Mintemp error that's driving me crazy. Typically a few minutes into a print. The thermistor ohms out fine and reads fine on the control panel, even in the exact spot the failure occurred. I've tried wiggling the cable every which way and can't make it fail. Seems like this happened only once before the recent firmware update but I did have several successful prints after that update, and now it's consistently happening.

A replacement thermistor kit is a bit pricey and looks like a bit of a pain to install, so I don't want to do it unless I'm confident the thermistor and/or wiring is the problem.

Is there anything else I should check / try before biting the bullet on a replacement, and does anyone have a trusted source for these? Also, is it strictly necessary to get one labeled as for MINI? Some of the Ebay listings state compatibility with MINI, MK3S, and other models -- does this imply I can buy a MK3S-labeled kit (which are a lot cheaper) instead?

Old man yelling at clouds here, but it seems like I'm only understanding 60% of the show lately. Not "getting" the humor, but literally understanding the words that are being said.

I really want to like Kam and Veronika, but they are consistently the worst offenders. But even the experienced players including Marcello and Kenan seem to be mumble-mouthed and tripping over lines lately.

I acknowledge that it is likely a generational thing. A sketch like the Chili's one from a couple weeks ago actually used this gen-z slurred speech pattern *as the joke*, but then it makes its way into half the sketches and I'm often lost. Can the youngs actually understand these?
