Solo travelling to Stratford-Upon-Avon, is 12 hours enough?

While yes it is an incredibly short window, as a student on a budget, I cannot afford to spend £100+ on an overnight stay.

I live in Birmingham so including an hour travel each way, what is the best I can do to make the most of my time there?

I love nature walks so the walk by the river is something I will definitely do. I am also interested in Shakesphere’s house and grave so probably visiting those, but I am not a Shakesphere fanatic.

What are some other (cheap) recommendations for things to do, food to eat etc?

Thank you

Edit: I dont drive unfortunately

What is the best WILTY series?

I would put my hat in for season 9.

It might not have the best single episode but the cast of Jon, Bob, Gabby Logan, John Cooper-Clarke, Greg Davies, Alex Jones, Sean lock….. I could keep going.

Along with this, David and Lee had a lot of great moments too and the show overall started being a lot more spontaneous and fun.

I also think the show ballooned in popularity about this time.

What do you guys think?

Are these Soluna eclipse glasses legitimate?

I am in the UK. Soluna is listed as an AAS-recognized vendor, but their website redirects me to their Amazon storefront to purchase the glasses.

Is buying through their official Amazon storefront considered safe, or is there another way to verify that the glasses are genuine?

Thanks!

SIB Timberborn or "play it safe" with Arc Raiders?

Currently on a discount at $20.

I do not have an incredible amount of money to spend on a game, but I was looking for something that would be a great way to pass the time. I can afford both games but I would hope that both would provide enough entertainment to justify the cost since I do not want to waste the money.

Currently I mostly play Risk of rain 2, Bloons td6, Brotato, Crypt of the Necrodancer, which combined I have hundreds of hours on. However, I am starting to find them all boring right now and while I own games in other genres such as Battlefield, WRC etc, they dont give me the urge to continue playing for hours on end.

The choice for me is to either spend the $20-25 on an established game like Arc Raiders or go for Timberborn. Both games are widely different but are both on my radar. The thing is that I am not convinced by either yet, but both are intriguing to me.

Timberborn especially is very appealing to me and the idea of it seems great. But I am unsure that I would hold interest in a city building game for a lot of time vs a non-niche genre like shooters.

I am also open to general recommendations based on the games I have listed. However, I am getting tired of the roguelike genre so would appreciate something different. I also like story driven campaign shooter games but I have played the popular choices (COD MWII, Titanfall 2.....)

What are the best (cheap) kitchen additions to utilise vertical space?

Firstly, apologies for this format but I thought it might be the best way to get answers. I only recently began cooking due to moving out.

I live in a studio with a small-ish Kitchenette with a couple drawers. However, the area above the countertop is basically unoccupied. I was wondering if there are any cheap kitchen additions that maximise limited space?

I guess a simple example would be some of those multi box stacks for spices and things. I would love for some suggestions on how to utilise the space better? Ideally on a student budget.

Thank you for your help.

Any advice for a new Pentax 200D user?

Recently got a used Pentax 300D with a tamron 18-200 lens for around £70 (dk if I got ripped off).

The lens itself is fine (apart from it drifting positions if it vibrates too much), and idk much about lenses, but a lens with this large a range seems more ‘all purpose’ than good camera kit.

Any recommendations for lenses? For other gear?

Im a complete novice and on a small budget (if you couldnt tell). So I would appreciate recommendations that are easy to start with. Im not sure what my main photography style is yet.

Should I purchase an Fujifilm Finepix series digital camera as a starter? Which one at that? Or are there other options that are better?

So I have a budget of around a 100 pounds and want to purchase a dedicated camera rather than my phone. I am very new to the world of cameras but I often see great pictures on here and a lot of them are Fujifilm or similar budget camera's and the pictures look a lot better than the ones from my phone (although not objectively I guess).

My advice from other posts has been that I should either not bother with a camera as my phone will be better upto 300-400 pound cameras, or that I should not bother with film cameras and stick to digital.

eBay shows a lot of used options for my budget for the Fujifilm and the digital aspect is fine as I would save costs on film development.

There are a lot of camera options so please help me decide whats best. I would prefer SD cards and a battery pack over AA's but apart from that I have no constraints. Thank you for your help.

Wondering how seatfrog works for AWC trains?

Once you upgrade for a specific route , how will seatfrog upgrade your specific ticket? Assuming that you only upgrade a tocket rather than buying a whole journey.

Also, is the upgrade to first class worth it for 20-30 pounds extra?

Should I stuff my pc with bubble wrap from the inside for transporting it 150 miles via car?

I am moving my PC. I have removed the GPU but since its a short trip and I have made some wiring complication, removing the air cooler doesnt seem ideal.

I will be transporting the PC on its side, but should I add a load of bubble wrap inside the PC for more support? Will static electricity generated by the bubble wrap be an issue? (The bubble wrap from what I know is a standard one, not specifically for PCs)

Route with least inconvenience from Wembley to University (Birmingham)?

Moving for the first time on Wednesday and I will be carrying a large luggage bag along with a handbag. Will be travelling midday.

The two routes I see are the AWC from Euston and Chiltern Rail from Wembley Stadium. Accounting for travel to Euston, there is not much between the two routes.

I have never travelled in Chiltern, and worry about overcrowding in the train.

Is it also safe to put luggage in the luggage racks or is there a chance it gets nicked?

Thank you

Using train-line to check prices, why do I not get offered certain options?

I checked tickets for London any to Bournville and its all Avanti West coast trains which tbh are expensive for me.

My friend told me to check from London to Birmingham new street and now Chiltern and West Midlands rail shows up.

Its not like the Avanti takes me to Bournville so why do I not get options for all 3 carriers when I choose Bournville as a destination?

Natural processing and the app in general for someone who doesnt edit the image after?

I am someone who doesnt understand the ins and outs of photography. I do not edit my photos after capturing them as well.

In such a case, would the natural processing aspect be worth it and should I get the app? How is the setup for the app and what are LUTs?

Is the moment pro camera ii app novice user friendly?

I was recommended this app by a friend, especially for the natural processing mode. I am not at all a photographer and infact do not understand the appeal for natural processing itself.

However, I was looking into getting better photos. Is this app a good introduction to that? or does it require having a sound-ish know-how on cameras and photography?

Edit: iPhone 14

(UK) Blood donation eligibility as a South-east Asian?

Hi,

I recently moved to the UK a few years ago and I was told that I cannot donate blood due to my ethnicity (Risk of tuberculosis was cited at the time). I have been tested negative for TB before entering the UK.

I unfortunately forgot all about it until recently when I looked and was allowed to make an account on blood.co.uk and was able to
Book appointments. Was I initially misinformed and am I generally eligible (not accounting for individual variability)?

Located in the UK

Thank you

Are there better options? Luggage is minimal and I dont mind walking, would prefer a reasonable time and cost.

Does the song Still Not a Player by Big Pun (ft. Joe) lyrics say fuck or crush?

Sorry this is a weird question but listening on spotify, the song lyric definitely is "Im not a player I just crush a lot" but while outside, I randomly heard it at a venue with the lyric "Im not a player I just fuck a lot". I dont know if this was just me mishearing something or not because I have been used to "crush a lot" since ages.

▲ 3 r/coleus+1 crossposts

My indoor coleus has begun to have twisted leaves and black spots on leaves, please help.

I got a coleus about a 6 weeks ago. It was in water and then I transitioned it to soil after 2 weeks. I initially overwatered it as advised and now water it every time the soil does not feel damp. The plant is on a North facing window sill in the UK, gets a few hours of indirect light every day. It does not get significant direct light due to the window orientation.

Recently I noticed that some of the leaves have started to develop black spots, are twisted, feel dry and crumpled and the base of the stem is developing a white substance. There are no evident signs of pests and spider mites that I can see. The new leaves also have lost the variegation design that the old leaves had.

All help is appreciated. Please let me know what I should do immediately and what I can do over the coming weeks in order to keep the plant healthy.
