Gravestone for brothers and their families on 1 stone?

My dad and his brother went in on a 6 person cemetery plot. Its supposed to be for my dad, mom and brother, and then my dad's brother, and his 2 kids (he's divorced).

Does anyone know how to best organize the names on the stone?

The stone will be 36" long and 28" tall (without the base). The last name for everyone is the same. But I'm wondering how to maybe show my dad, mom and brother and then my uncle & 2 kids.

I'd appreciate seeing some examples if anyone has any. My dad is the only one who is passed away so far.

Thank you.

pupillary distance is 28.5 - should i choose 28 or 29?

I'm trying to order a pair of prescription sunglasses online. called my eye doctor. They said my PD is 28.5 for each eye. I said I can only choose 28 or 29 - the guy on the phone said to choose 28 and its not a big deal. But when I ask google, they say to round up to 29. Which one is correct? I am ordering a pair of proogressive glasses.

Thanks!

Question about luggage space

I never take Uber since I live in VT and drive my own car everywhere but next week I want to schedule an Uber in Boston to take me to the airport. I have 3 people and 3 suitcases. (2 carryons + 1 larger suitcase)

Do I need the Uber XL? Or will I be ok with a regular uber?

Lost/Abandoned Property (stock shares)

A few months ago i received a letter in the mail from a place called APA (Abandoned Property Advisors) about some stock shares that belonged to my dad. He died last year. They were looking for the executor of his estate and/or next of kin. My dad lived in Massachusetts and that is also where my mother and brother live.

My mom is still alive and my dad had a will leaving everything to her. But she has undiagnosed dementia and wont be able to take care of this herself. Her POA is my brother who has never lived on his own, has autism and is not 100% with-it. He will not be able to help her either. He's able to work (although he just lost his job of 25 years), but he just does not take initiative and he needs someone to direct him in almost every aspect of life. I have to pretty much guide the 2 of them thru anything complicated. Dont get me started...I'm not sure why they picked my brother as POA, but maybe it was because he lived with them and I was 4 hours away with 2 young children.

Anyways, APA can transfer the stock but they take 20% of the value and she told me it was over $19k - so thats quite a big chunk lost if we take the easy route of using APA.

We dont have probate opened because there was nothing to probate until now. Everything was already in my mom's name.

Is it going to be possible to get these stock shares (from Manulife) transferred to my mom if we have a will where he gives everything to her? Will I have to open an estate and be appointed as the administrator? There is really nothing else to probate.

As an aside - what happens if we just do nothing and my mom dies and then we get the shares transferred to my brother and I? Will the shares just exist and be OK if we leave as is? APA has called me this week asking if I made any progress. My mom has made it really hard for me to help her since i live out of state and she hasnt given me POA to do these things on her behalf.

Green metal stakes for trellis netting? How tall?

I am trying trellis netting this year for supporting my dahlias. I have 3 raised beds that are around 4.5'x12' was planning on 6 stakes per bed. Do you think 5' tall stakes will suffice? My tallest dahlias are Vassio Meggos and Vassio Togas which might grow to 5-6'. But previous years the tallest cage I used was 4.5' tall. Most of my dahlias are more like 4'. The 5' tall stake will allow me to have about 4' above ground, maybe slightly more.

Trying to decide what to buy for stakes and would appreciate some guidance. Thanks!

Is this enough food for a 20-25 person graduation party?

I have about 20 people coming. Could be slightly more or slightly less.

18 hamburgs (Costco frozen pack)

25 hotdogs

Greek Pasta Salad (plan to make 32oz of pasta to double recipe)

Potato Salad

Pita Chips +Artichoke Dip

Potato Chips

Tortilla Chips/Salsa/Guacamole

Costco Sheet Cake

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Should I buy some thinly sliced chicken breast to throw on the grill too?
Do you think I should make a garden salad?
I'm game to make something else if its easy to throw together.
I also have beer/hard seltzer/seltzer/sodas/bottled water
A regular underwire bra that has a cute back?
I buy sports bras to wear under tank tops in the summer and I HATE them. I am a 36D, about a size 10/12. I hate sports bras because I end up feeling so squished on top. I want a regular underwire bra that feels supportive but that I'm not feeling embarressed about showing thru a tank top...does such a thing exist?
I'll try a racerback but honestly I've never had one I liked. They all seem to give me neck/shoulder pain. I'm 48. I'm just looking for an underwire bra thats supportive and doesnt smoosh my boobs together and that doesnt look matronly if the straps show under a tank top.
Thanks!
Where to buy that grid-netting for Dahlia support?
I usually put a tall tomato cage around each dahlia to provide support but this year I want to try using the tall green metal fencing posts and attaching the gridding netting to it at various heights. I'd appreciate some tips - like does Lowes sell that netting and if so what is it called?
My raised beds are roughly 10' x 4.5'. So will I be good with stakes at the 4 corners and then 2 levels of netting? How to attach?
Thank you!!!
Taking a distribution from 529 - questions
My husband passed a few years ago and I have had a HELL of a time getting a small 529 at Edward Jones moved over to myself as the owner. My son was always the beneficiary.
Now it only has about $5400 in it. I can log in online and see the money but I cant initiate a withdrawal online. I wanted to take out the costs for his college laptop + iPad for school and I paid his $500 deposit earlier this month. The total for this would be about $2839. I messaged the advisor (who is someone special that takes care of estate accounts) and I received a reply that I need to initiate a withdraw with a verbal consent. OK....
Now since this is such a pain can I just withdraw the entire amount now and use the remaining money (~$2561) to pay his tuition when the bill comes due in August? I hate to have to call these people and do this song and dance again in a couple of months.
Lenovo Thinkpad for college laptop? 14"?
My son is starting college in the fall. We are trying to figure out what laptop to get for him. He's going to be a business student. The recommend a windows laptop with an Intel Ultra 7 processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and FHD Graphics or better.
We were looking at this Lenovo Thinkpad at Costco. https://www.costco.com/p/-/lenovo-thinkpad-t14s-g6-14-touchscreen-laptop-core-ultra-7-255u-processor-32gb-ram-1tb-ssd-windows-11-pro-wi-fi-7/4000424260?langId=-1
I'd prefer to get something thats a little nicer and wont need to be replaced in a year or 2.
He already has a gaming desktop. he thinks 14" screen will be fine since thats what he has now and its easier to carry around.
WDYT?
Noticeable decline between 11-12 years old?
My english lab is going to be 12 this summer. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old. She looks great for her age and the vet thinks so too and i've had multiple people who meet her be surprised when I tell them she is almost 12.
Anyways, I got a puppy last year (another english lab and her 1/2 great nephew). And in the past year it feels like she has gotten much older. She doesnt always want to walk (we just go 1/3 mile around the block, 2-3x a day). Sometimes she lays down, but if i drop her leash she immediate gets up, puts the leash in her mouth and follows me. So its hard to tell if she is just tired, or if she's trying to get me to give her a treat or what? If I take her for a long walk at the park, so will be off-leash and walk the entire time and not stop. So it seems like she may just be sick of her leash?
She was recently put on 75mg of Carprofen 2x a day (as-needed). I feel like its helping her.
My new puppy is now 17 months old, weighs 80 pounds and likes to bother her by humping her, and instigating wrestling matches, etc...She's too nice to really put him in his place. She does bark at him and make "leave me alone" noises. I usually try to interfere so he will leave her be.
Also she recently got diagnosed with a soft-tissue sarcoma on her front leg. I had it removed and the vet said they got clean margins.
Anyways, just seeing whats "normal". Its hard to tell if she's in pain because like I said she walks just fine when she's not leashed and keeps up. But when going around the block on a leash she often stops moving or lays down. Sometimes I am unsure if I should leave her at home and only walk the younger dog. Because she seems sad to not go? but at the same time if she is laying down, maybe she isnt wanting to walk? Also I sometimes bring treats and I've noticed when i go bring treats she lays down more and its like she does it purposely so that I will give her a treat to get her to move. lol.
She still runs when she sees something she wants to get, like a cat or a squirrel. I would say i usually go around the block about 4x a day but I bring her maybe 50%-75% of the time.
Just hoping to hear from others and how much walking they do with their older dogs.
My late husbands aunt died and the funeral was 3 weeks ago. I was unable to attend because of timing and it was out of state and I didnt have pet-care lined up. I absolutely would have gone if it were local. Anyways, I have cards for her children and I want to write a nice note. Do I mention not being able to attend? or just say I am sorry for their loss and that their mom will be missed?
First off, I am 48f and widowed for over 3 years now. I made some online dating profiles to see whats out there and I have chatted with a few guys here and there. Nothing leads anywhere and its kind of a relief because if i have to be honest I am nervous about meeting strangers for a date. I did it a few times in my teens (not for dates but just online friends) and it was always so awkward. The more i think about it I really cant see myself warming up to the idea. I feel like there is alot of pressure to like the person and be attracted to them and I really cant tell that until i meet people and I dont want the pressure of having to decide that on a blind date when we both KNOW the reason we are there. I know this is a ME problem...i'm kind of shy and introverted to start with. I know that there's a good chance that if i cant get over this online dating thing I might never meet someone too. Any tips on that? OTOH its not lost on me that if you meet someone ASAP maybe the pressure to like them is not really there as much as if you drag the texting on and on.
Ok, on to my other issue - I matched with someone last week who was also widowed. I asked him how long ago his wife died - it was less than 5 months ago! That seems way too soon for me. Now he's talking about meeting in person and I just dont want to right now. its kind of giving me the ick that he just lost his wife so recently. Other things are that he seems like a church-goer, and I am not. Luckily we live like 200 miles away from each other. So how do i say i dont want to and be nice about it?
