40-ish masc looking for an easy, inexpensive skincare routine

Hi y'all.

Have never really done more than "shower + soap + shampoo" but that went to "lotion on my face after showering" and now I also use soap with shea butter and it helps a lot.

I have psoriatic arthritis, which comes with a psoriasis component, which is mostly well controlled on my skin.

But just wondering, what are some easy, inexpensive things I can do that will set me up for good skin longterm?

Cisco Duo - experiences?

Hi folks, just wondering what everyone's experience has been with Cisco Duo.

We're looking at implementing it to augment our VPN authentication to provide MFA.

I ask because, I both called and left a message (during which the automated voice system told me there were 0 representatives able to take my call), and I filled out the form on their website twice, to contact sales. I have not been able to get anyone to contact me.

Looking for open world survival game based on sustainability, same vein as Eco/Vintage Story. Bonus points for life/socialsim elements.

Howdy.

Title.

What I mean by sustainability is that you can't just endlessly build production buildings and hoppers, conveyers, etc etc, you have to really think about how what you're doing is going to affect the land, air and water and food supplies.

I'm already aware of Vintage Story and Eco, have both, love them.

Looking for similar games I might not be aware of that are of similar quality. Having social sim or life sim elements would make it absolutely killer.

Low-cost option for MFA for Meraki Client VPN (IPsec)?

Small business. ~80 users. Not a huge budget, especially not given the economic situation.

We run Meraki MX devices at a number of offices.

We also have a number of creative users that work from home and need fast + resilient tunnels to navigate and transfer files quickly.

Semi-recently Meraki began offering IKEv2/IPSEC. Works great, super fast.

Problem is, they don't have MFA support for it yet. They seem to want you to use AnyConnect Premium, but the Meraki only supports TLS/DTLS tunnel type, which is substantially slower for transferring large files.

They also don't support client certificate validation for IKEv2/IPsec, which would be another good option that isn't "anyone with a username/password who knows the termination IP/name can connect."

Right now we authenticate by pointing the MXs at an NPS server in Azure, which is joined to an Entra DS domain. We want to avoid managing an AD domain but are heavily integrated into the MS ecosystem (Teams, Office, Win11 Business, Intune, etc).

Is there a tool or service that we could point the MX's RADIUS server field at, that integrates with Entra/Entra DS that could perform MFA on its end before returning success and granting access, augmenting the basic username/password auth?

EDIT: Looks like Cisco Duo and miniOrange are potential options.

Please note: We DO have Entra, and we are specifically looking to use the Meraki Client VPN via IKEv2/IPsec, not AnyConnect (which only offers slower TLS/DTLS tunnels on the Meraki).

Haley Stevens just exploited a local small business tonight. Imagine what she'd do to you.

What a rat move to pull. It's a shame Pux was put in this situation. Be sure to vote Abdul tomorrow and send this AIPAC puppet packing.

"When Pux was approached to book this event, we were only told it would be a private women’s Dem event. Pux was never advised that Haley Stevens would be connected with this event. We are heartbroken as we pride ourselves on being not only a queer friendly space but also have advocated and continue to call for a free Palestine. We DO NOT endorse Haley Stevens. Our promise to our community is that in the future we will be more vigilant in requesting specific details for private events in the future. We apologize most sincerely and will be donating the proceeds tonight to the Grand Rapids Pride Center."

Folks with esophageal strictures, what has your experience been?

Not looking for a diagnosis, just have had some symptoms lately that have been above and beyond what they normally have been for GERD. I have an appointment scheduled with my gastro already. The symptoms seem to match the description for an esophageal stricture, most notably hoarse voice & a dull pain in my shoulder when swallowing that's gotten worse over the past month-ish.

Folks with strictures, what was your experience?

Looking for a PVE MMO with a healthy, friendly community for a friend and I

Hey friends.

Title.

We're both GW2 players but have been a bit burned out in the game ATM, (they're max mastery, I'm 400 something). They're on Windows and I'm on Linux.

We're looking for a solid MMO with a large, friendly community that doesn't take hours and hours in the game before the fun part actually starts.

We've been taking a potential look at the following:

  • World of Warcraft (From what we've heard there is quite a bit of soloing in the game now, which wouldn't be ideal for duoing, and the effort to get it working on Linux is a bit of a struggle)
  • LOTRO (Looks great but the UI is stuck in early 2010s resolution, and I'm not changing the native res of my monitor for one game to make the text readable, if they fix this good possibility)
  • FFXIV (Story is a bit meh early on so lots of grinding until we get to the good stuff, other than that seems like a good possibility)
  • COH/COV (People have figured out meta builds so every public group is just blasting through and easymoding near or at highest difficulty for task/strike forces, which isn't very fun and ruins progression and opportunities for social, I quit after realizing leveling was just going to be that, and it's similar at endgame)
  • SWG (A good candidate, but has spin groups, which is another ruining of game progression imo, not sure about endgame)
  • Rift - I played this for about a year back when it first came out and I heard it was under new management, but I enjoyed it. Is it any good?

Any that I'm missing?

EDIT: Thanks everyone for the incredibly helpful responses! Weird to be in an MMO subreddit that isn't just berating and negativity, but feels good!

Any apps that meet the following criteria?

Hi friends, been looking for a Discord replacement since Discord announced attempted identity verification using Persona earlier this year.

Not keen on giving Trump's buddy Thiel my info if I can avoid it.

I started with TeamSpeak, and it's probably about 60% of the way there but it's stuck in this weird 2010s design paradigm and doesn't seem to be terribly interested in updating.

I ended up going back to Discord, sadly, but I want to keep my eyes open for any possibilities.

I'm looking for:

  • Absolutely minimum possible AI slop (this goes for coding, images, etc), none is best
  • FOSS
  • Not incredibly painful to set up and maintain
  • Reliable and stable, and non-AI driven development process
  • Self-hostable (ideally, not a must-have)
  • text/HTML chat + embeds
  • servers with text channels AND voice channels
  • easy streaming

Have yet to find anything that meets these criteria, but figured I'd check with y'all.

Umbilical hernia repair - anyone recovered w/o help?

Title, and by that I mean, got the surgery and soloed the recovery.

I'm in the unfortunate position of not really having anyone here I can count on to help me for this for more than a few occasional things.

If you went through this, how was your experience?

Got diagnosed with MASLD a few months ago, wondering if anyone else has had my symptoms?

Hi everyone, got diagnosed a few months ago. Doc told me I needed to lose weight, sadly did not really pay attention until a few weeks ago.

I was eating takeout, Starbucks in the AM, etc. Basically letting my anxiety rule my life and prevent me from making changes I need to.

One day about 3-4 weeks ago, I suddenly started to feel very tired and out of it. Had headache, nausea, digestive issues, abdominal bloating. Have felt like my body weighs twice as much and due to the bloating, have had issues taking a full breath sometimes.

Recently I had bloodwork done and it showed I had elevated liver enzymes (ALT).

After I realized this might be liver-related, I immediately switched to a mediterranean diet set to drop about 1.25 lbs/wk. It's helped and I certainly feel better than I did initially, but I am still getting the exhaustion and brain fog. Started walking as well, until my state turned into an apocalyptic smoke factory.

I have an appointment with a hepatologist in about 2-3 weeks

Just wondered if any of y'all MASLD experts know if these symptoms are typical, and if so, if any of these are indicative of more advanced disease?

Looking for Linux-based backup tools that can mount local/remote backup targets as filesystems

Howdy! See my subject.

I've got 3 Optiplex 7040Ms, all with 32GB RAM, 256 GB OS disk, 1 TB data disk, behind an OpenWRT device. 2 are running Proxmox on Debian 13. The last one is what I'd like to use for backup.

I've also got a desktop running Debian 13 for which I'd want to back up its config and user files (docs, pictures, etc).

I've looked at restic, borg, garage, rcloned and a few others but not found any that match my use case easily.

My criteria are:

- No LLM involvement/code

- Long track record of reliability, at least 5+ years

- Offsite backup to cloud provider or remote at another location over WAN

Ideally I'd set up a cron job that would run a backup on each device to a backup repo target on the 3rd Optiplex, and the repo would be trivially mountable as a filesystem for easy browsing.

Does anything like this exist?
