What is your indicator for deciding that its time to abandon a conversation?

Youre conversing but the conversation can possibly be a waste of your time that will not get anywhere

Whats your main indicator that tells you this is one of those conversations

TIFU by leaving my phone in my dads bedroom

So for context Im 18 and I live in a traditional household more or less. I have a girlfriend and my dad doesnt know about it. And I would have loved to keep it that way

Today I left my phone on my dads bed while I was doing something in the kitchen, and he had just come back from work. A minute later I heard him saying "Someones calling you son" and there's not many people that are likely to do that so I PRAYED my hunch wasnt right.

Well, It was.

I entered the room and there he was sitting on the edge of the bed and laying besides him with the screen glaring at the ceiling...was my phone, and on it displayed "Baby😘😘" with her profile picture spread in the background.

The wave of embarrassment that washed all over me is indescribable oh my godddd. Its not even so much about the fact that he saw someone calling but rather the name I had saved her with. And the worst part is his reaction.

He didnt say anything he just said someones calling you in a weird sarcastic high pitched tone and then just stared at the floor

And its been hours and things have never felt so awkward between us, I have no idea whats going on in his head and I cant stop thinking about it 💔💔💔.

TL;DR I kept my girlfriend's existence a secret from my father for good reason and he found out when I left my phone in his room and she called. He has been silent and awkward for hours and Im drowning in crippling embarrassment.

AIW for not apologising if someone misunderstood me

If I say something that sparks a very emotional reaction in someone, should I apologise for that if I completely did not mean it that way at all. I just can't see why I should apologise if I said something that very clearly did not mean what someone thought I did. Is their mistake in comprehension my fault?? I can see myself apologising for wording it a certain way just to end the conflict, but am I wrong to not apologise for sparking negative feelings in someone if it's by their own misunderstanding

Laptop causes wifi to disappear

There's this laptop in my house, when it's connected to the house wifi it occasionally disconnects, and when it does that every single other device in the house connected to that wifi also disconnects, and can't reconnect until said laptop does so. Why does that even happen and what's the fix for it

In what case does more diffraction happen, When wavelength is equal to the length of the slit or when the wavelength is bigger than the length of the slit, and why?

My course and marking schemes apparently keep saying that the most diffraction happens when a wavelength is the same as the slit size that it's passing through, but what if the wavelength is bigger than the slit size, would that cause more spreading

What is a rick ?

Thing that bothers me is, if rick in one dimension can have tentacles and a rick in another dimension can have some other alteration compared to Rick C-137, how much and what things can you change before the person infront of you is not a rick? It's not being the smartest man in the universe because then there'd be no need to make a finite central curve. How do you decide which person is rick

It's the biggest brain itch the show's given me.

I think it's a particular combination of traits that decides if you're rick, there's many who may have some of the traits but all of them at once would give you rick perhaps? What would be those traits?

Why is everyone an INFP

Okay that's absurd to say obviously but on a more serious note, genuinely so many people around me who take a test come out as INFPs, which is absurd sometimes cause a lot of them have seriously different personalities from my perspective.

Is it just really easy to mistype yourself as one as compared to other Mbti ? Or does this one just allow for a more diverse range of people or something.

Does a rewatch improve the bojack experience

I watched the show months back and I loved it and now I miss it, I miss what it made me feel because those feelings were unique to that show and those characters.

Regardless even while watching it for the first time I noticed how they often dropped insights and ideas that I didn't fully grasp immediately, and couldn't really dwell on either as the episode moved on quickly.

If you have rewatched the show, were there things that you understood better the second time that you missed while initially watching ?

How do you guys do boring shit

Sometimes, some things need to be done or else there's going to be consequences

I understand that fact well enough, and I hate said consequences.

But said thing is so fucking boring I understand the responsibility the necessity all of it and I try to get myself to do it. But I physically can't continue for more than a minute or two. It's genuinely agonising.

How do you do something that provides zero stimulation or interest.

I get that they have the most strenuous routines ever and can't eat a burger as often as the rest of us and what not, but is that not a pro rather than a con too like, they're staying healthy and that's helping them do their job.

It's not an easy job but most jobs aren't "easy" anyways.

After a lot of thinking and discussion, I actually reached the blue button as my conclusion through just my own logic, before that I saw a reel and the comments which overall portrayed it all as something along the lines of "rational certainity Vs emotional stupidity" which, since I hadnt given it much thought, is what I thought it to be and decided on red, later however I gave it some actual time and I think blues the actual logical choice which is interesting.

So

What do you press ?

If someone isnt aware :

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive.
