Is it true that some Muslims don’t believe in eternal hell?

For context I am a Christian universalist, the idea of eternal damnation is evil and cruel in my eyes. I did hear though, that some of you guys believe in a similar universalist hell like me and a lot of other Christians. Is this true? From what I’ve heard it sounds very clear that it’s eternal but if anyone has a different view it’s probably you guys.

Where is line drawn between entertainment and sin?

I was thinking about this. Some movies have a certain point where “horror” is just a poorly disguised gore fetish, mindless violence. (Cough cough terrifier franchise cough cough) and while that is questionable, it’s not “sinful”. Then you have stuff like p0rn videos (the harmful kind) and you would say watching that is sinful. But what about movies where actors are being harmed. Take “a never ending story” where the horse died, harm did happen to make that movie. Old school movies where animals were killed have harm, actors have died on set, the Hollywood industry isn’t great. All of them caused harm, so why is one sinful and the other isn’t? Why is there this double standard. Let me know what you think.

Idk if I can keep my faith after reading the bible.

I read most of the Old Testament. It paints God as some sort of all powerful killing machine, slaughtering entire towns of innocent people for no reason other than “some people committed sin. It scared me, especially when Jesus said that he did not come to abolish the old law but to establish a new covenant. This means that some of that stuff could still be around, if the New Testament god didn’t have a major switch up. He killed a couple people here and there, but when he himself came down to earth as Jesus he didn’t hurt a fly. Why is it that the same God who slaughtered thousands for simple sins is suddenly harmless and Good. It doesn’t make sense.

The plot of T2 is a paradox.

So in the movie. The second terminator is sent back to protect the kid right? In the process he stops the war from happening, so there’s no war, but if there’s no war the terminator wouldn’t be sent back meaning the war would still happen. And if there’s war did happen because the terminator didn’t prevent it and the kid survived to become the leader he would know about the terminator and send one back to prevent the war, as then he knows he could do it, meaning there’s a loop.

Never talk about theology people don’t agree with immediately online.

I just wanted to talk about how I think abortion causes the soul to be reused and the child still is born so they get a chance to live but NOOO, im a stupid idiot r#tard because they don’t understand it. As an autistic person the word r#tard really offends me, and that was what told me I couldn’t do this anymore. The word feels like someone reached through the screen and called me the slur to my face. People forget that there’s a real person behind a screen, and if you’re gonna say negative things you need to think about whether you would want that said to you. Tiktok “Christian’s” are always so easy to jump to calling names and slurs the second someone disagrees with them, instead of hearing them out. I realised partway through replying that I didn’t know these people and that their name calling shouldn’t affect me, but it still hurt. What you say online isn’t just 1s and 0s, you’re saying real words to a real human being.

I’m sorry for what I said in my last post about Catholicism.

I’m sorry for what I said in my post about Catholicism

(Unsure how to tag) I’m sorry for what I said. It was poorly worded and easily read as arrogant, insensitive, disrespectful and downright hateful. My intention doesn’t change the fact that I said things in that post that weren’t okay. I repeatedly made disrespectful statements and lumped all Catholics into a bubble they don’t fit in, and there is nuance I don’t understand when it comes to their beliefs and theology. One of my worst offences was downplaying what they do. I complained in my post about how often charity and good deeds is talked about in class, and I said it was repetitive and boring. These companies are doing so much good in the world and I treated them like another protest group. I’ll list some here and give links if asked (reddit keeps taking down my post if I include them):

CatholicCare: A non for profit company that aims to support and help people around them. This includes; Disabled people, Elderly people, mentally ill people and more.

Caritas: Caritas is a famous Catholic charity group that aims to give rescources to people in need; The homeless, war torn countries, disaster victims and many more.

Vinnies: Vinnies is a popular thrift store and charity, who donates food and money to people in need, host many volunteering events and so much more I can’t fit it in two pages. I personally go there all the time and if you have the option I would recommend going down to one and browsing their stock.

I know no amount of shouting out charities and explanations and “I was uneducated” can excuse or change what I said, it was wrong and there’s nothing that can change that. There was no reason for me to say the things that I said and I apologise to any Catholics and non Catholics I might have offended.

Would a fully synthetic human have a soul?

In this scenario, the dna is created custom, with handmade protons, nucleus and electrons, created with computers and stuff. (Sci fi or something) and then it’s grown in a lab, a synthetic womb, but the it’s let out into the world to live a normal life. It doesn’t know it’s synthetic and it has a consciousness, thoughts, emotions, feelings. Does this being have a soul? Or because it is fully made by humans would it not. This is theoretically possible.

Abraham and Isaac feels weird.

God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, which he did without hesitation. It was a “test”. But the fact that God thought killing your son when asked and without question was a good thing? Abraham would’ve gone through with it if an angel didn’t stop him. First, how did he know that was god? Whoever would’ve done the same thing is one psychotic break or hallucination away from being a mass murderer. Second, God could have chosen anything, but he didn’t. He chose an immoral thing. Why did god chose something immoral as a test of faith. He could have made Abraham give away his food for the day to a hungry family, he could have made him go to an opposing land and preach the gospel, he could’ve made Abraham do anything else. Third, the test itself? It being a test says “I didn’t know if he would do this” this isn’t something you hear from someone who knows everything.

After some thinking I’ve come up with a possible solution?

This was a metaphor for how god congratulates someone who is willing to do anything for God, the problem is, the writer let the practices and morals of the time get in the way of what would’ve been an important lesson.

In “Nintendo 64” is it implied the brother goes through with it?

I’m unsure as wether this is the usual outcome for lyrics like this, I don’t listen to his songs (don’t like depressing music and I’m pretty sure that’s all his songs) but I’ve heard it on TikTok so decided to listen to it. It wouldn’t make sense for the mc to allow him to do it, when he had foreknowledge.

Heard a new take on arsenokoitai, can anyone help?

So the argument I heard was. “Paul got the word from the Greek translations of Leviticus 18 and 22, which makes it clear what he meant by it. I’m wondering how this could be argued against? I’m genuinely perplexed by this and can’t figure how to get around it.

Views on Judaism?

Judaism has been the building blocks to Christianity since the beginning. I respect it greatly, especially its more inclusive offshoots and its views in heaven and hell, but I do know of the… less friendly… kinds of Judaism. What do you think of it. (Going off the rules and beliefs of the majority)
