Venison County - My Godot game about Appalachian deer/man hybrid zombies, backwoods black magic, and launching yourself around with a pitchfork!
Howdy!
Venison County is my 4 year passion project, and is a lovingly satirical tribute to the place that I only learned to love once I moved away (the Appalachian mountains).
Together with my best friend since the 1st grade (who makes the music), and my girlfriend of 7 years (who makes the illustrations), we've finally released Venison County's demo to Steam.
Venison County is an Appalachian horror rogue-like about deer/man hybrid zombies, white knuckle active reloads, and endlessly synergistic occult powers.
The demo can be played at:

And its associated presskit (clips, transparent PNGs, etc.) can be found at:

Thank you for reading!
(And if you see this, hi Joe! Thank you for all that you do for the indie dev community.)
Are my game's gibs visceral enough?
I studied Blood 1997 and Dusk while making the gibs for Venison County, and I'm hoping to do them both proud!
To see the gibs up close, play the free demo at:

What are the best looking 3D 90s games?
I'm looking for timeless looking games, like Ocarina of Time or Resident Evil.
Thank you!
I'm making a KF1 inspired horde shooter, and IGN just co-streamed its Steam demo announcement. It's called Venison County, and it's a love letter to the Tripwire of old.

Let me know what you guys think!
I quit university to make Venison County, the roguelike boomer shooter of my dreams. Please destroy it and its trailer!
A few of the TWD easter eggs in my game, Venison County. What should I add next?
I just launched the demo for my Hundred Acre Wrist inspired boomer shooter, Venison County.
I added an ICP themed gun to my game, Venison County. I'm also adding a playable Juggalo character. What should his ability be?
If anyone wants to check it out, there's a free demo at:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3868900/Venison_County/
The ICP themed gun and character are still works in progress, so I'd love to hear some suggestions and/or feedback!
Earlier this year, I dropped out of college to work on my four-year passion project full time with my best friends. IGN and GameSpot just co-streamed my game's free demo launch announcement. It's called Venison County and it's a love letter to the FPS games of my childhood.
What's your favorite thing about PC gaming?
What made you choose PC over console? For me, I prefer PC gaming because of the massive indie catalogue. Would love to hear some other opinions!
