Could Milk have been inspired to some degree by the Lain game for the PS1?

For starters I love both games, among my favourites.

The reason I mention this is because there's a bunch of things they have in common, the most odd one to me being this at the very start of the Lain game:

The first ever dialogue in the Lain game is about milk:

Cou002

But I don't think that's the only thing in common ofc, both games are very focused on mental illness and loneliness.
Lain is so lonely she's only seen talking to a psychologist, Milk is so lonely that she's only seen talking to the player.

More things in common I can think of is how both dropped out of school early, how both of their mothers are abusive and how both of their dads are gone.

Both also saw the ugly side of the internet, Lain met Mr. Rabbit who sent her gore and manipulated her, Milk met someone else who she also trusted but harrased her into quitting the internet.

And of course the more obvious one, both struggle with suicidal thoughts.

If Ubisoft pulls this off it’s gonna be a generational comeback

The last proper assassin’s creed game was AC4 (in my opinion)
I’ve played all the titles , except AC shadows (that game is an abomination) , AC unity was glitchy, AC syndicate was crass , AC origins was meh , AC odyssey was a super hero game , AC Valhalla was bloated as fuck , AC mirage lacked that combat element.

Edward James kenway is or of best character Ubisoft has ever created .

If they can given an unforgettable experience from this game , then they have a chance of a comeback.

I hate the "actually they're just schizo and they hallucinated everything" theories

I hate the "actually they're just schizo and they hallucinated everything" theories that usually are not hinted at all in the story, would add nothing to the narrative (if not make it worse) and are just an edgy version of "it was all a dream"

Usually applied to any sort of surreal psychological story like Serial Experiments Lain or even Batman.

Was genuinely suprised to find out lots of people don't like these three. I personally thought they were all bangers and some of the best single player games Ubi have put out in years

Are there even any Touko Yonera fans out there? I feel she's insanely underrated for being easily the best side character in the franchise.
