I need better settings for my CC2

Hello, I ran a test print with some settings I found and my autodesk test print turnt out with stringing, weird ironing patterns and marks that are uneven (lighter or darker) in some areas moving in a diagonal pattern even on the bottom. The rods have rough areas around them, especially at some parts where it’s randomly unironed. The cylinders appear to be damaged in some areas and have an uneven ironing. Any settings to use to prevent this? I use the elegoo Black Rapid PLA+

Also, will the overhand always be like that at 15 degrees? It looks awful. Do I need supports for this test or no.

Maintenance greases for CC2

Hello, I’m back and want to know what brand of grade you guys get to put on the threaded and smooth rods for the printer?

I’ve heard some people use oil for one and grease for the other, but I wanted a specific brand to get to make sure I’m prepared once it’s time.

Cheers

Elegoo slicer settings won’t save

Hello, I’ve printed my benchy and a few test prints, but I realized after using my Mac for elegoo slicer, that the slicer won’t save any settings I’ve put in. Does anyone have a way to keep whatever settings I want to stay after a print is done/ when I shut off the slicer?

Centauri carbon 2 won’t slow down or change speed for printing

I use the elegoo rapid PLA+ black, and I have tried to change the speed on the matrix but it will not allow me to change the speed from balanced, nor does the slicer have any modes for quiet printing like other comments have said. Am I doing something wrong? I can’t change the speed on the printer screen either.

Does the CC2 get hot on the bottom?

(Skip for actual question) Alright, i know I’ve asked a lot of questions in this subreddit but I’ve been drying my filament and realized I almost burnt my house down with a burning electrical outlet which is why I haven’t turnt on the printer or put the USB into my computer.

(Actual question) While I’m waiting, can anyone tell me if the bottom of this printer gets hot as I will put it on wood and I’m scared it will cause the wood to heat up and weaken/light on fire.

Do you guys recommend any heat resistant mats if so?

am I suppose to take this off?

Every tutorial I’ve seen still has this tape on at the inside ball wall of the Centauri carbon 2. Am I suppose to keep this here?

Carbon fiber prints in CC2

Hello! I wanted to know how to use carbon fiber in my Centauri carbon 2 without ruining it! I want to make prints to be able to hold weight and be used for mechanical engineering purposes (prototypes)

Any tough filaments really, hopefully pla. Recommendations and tips?

Is Quad remesher a subscription?

Ello, I just got Nomad Sculpt today and I tried getting quad remesher in the app, but it took me to the website which said 15 for 3 months, $50, and 100 something for a license. I thought it was a one time purchase of $15 or $20? Am I looking at this wrong or did I just get told the wrong information?

I need a power surge for the cc2 and a filament dryer called sovol 3d(2 rolls)

Hello, I recently got a 3d printer called the Centauri carbon 2, where the max input voltage is 240 V, and a filament dryer called the sovol dryer (2 rolls) that had the same input voltage. What would be a great surge protecter to connect these 2 to that goes to the wall plug?

The Centauri carbon has an electrical power draw of 1100W at 220V or 350W at 110V. I would guess the higher power draw would be useful as it jumps up to that when heating the plate. The dryer is 48 Watts.

My budget is $30, but I’m willing to pay more so I don’t burn down my house, and it has to be 8 feet or longer.
Tell me if I need to give any more information! This subreddit seems like the one that would have answers.

Also I know nothing about electrical outlets and electricity in general.

Should I purchase plastic containers and silica to dry filament?

3d printing is seeming a lot more expensive then originally thought, with the incline fan and tubing stuff…
But now! I have a new question. I heard people sue filament dryers. I have little Cash, around $45.
Do I really need a filament dryer for the 4 rolls, or can I try buying this item and then using silica packets I already have at home to dry the filament while it’s being used.
If so, any tips on how long to keep it in before I use it?

Why don’t 0.2 assembled hotends exist?

I just brought a Centauri carbon 2 and currently trying to assemble it. I’m in a dilemma of taking a chance to replace the nozzle and breaking the entire thing inside to get a chance at 0.2 nozzle OR getting a third party hot end that seems like it has bad durability.

I genuinely am curious, why doesn’t the CC2 have a pre assembled 0.2 hotend kit to just change it out like the tutorials? 0.4 and 0.6 have one if memory serves me right. I just want mini figs without needing to have my 3d printer combust on itself after making a benchy after I tried playing Tony stark trying to change the nozzle size. Cheers.

Edit: deleted useless ps
Edit 2: deleted mention of the CC

Do I really need an incline fan?

I’m working on the ventilation for the 3d printer right now, I just wanted to know if I needed a fan since the exhaust duct distance from window to printer will only be 2-3 feet. It will have a slight curve downwards since the desk is somehow high.

Ventilation ducts for 3d prints during the rain/winter

I’ve finally got my first 3d printer, Centauri carbon 2!
Thing is, now I need a ventilation system. After some questions, I know I need an incline fan and an exhaust tube to get the fumes out my window.
There’s just 1 issue. All the 3d printed window covers for the window to connect it to the myself leave gaps in the window. When I live, the rain directly hits my window and pools down if I open the glass pane inside but not the chicken wire net thing outside. Does anyone have any suggestions of a print or an item I need to make sure water doesn’t pool up at the window for the ventilation, and any way to snow/rain proof the exit so rain doesn’t enter in through the other side?

Finally ordered my first printer! How would I cover the canvas for it?

Hello! I finally got my first CC2 including its foot things and extra filters for the inside to change out!
One question, I noticed the canvas just had the filaments outside where they could get wet. Anyone got a good filament cover for when it’s in use/not in use aswell? I gotta save up for the typical 3d print accessories and the extra hot end!

I don’t know how i will change the nozzle to 0.2 on my Centauri carbon 2!

I’m going to buy a CC2 before the deal finishes tomorrow, but I just realized the assembled hotend on the website is for the cc, and doesn’t work for the 2nd one. The tutorials online and the wiki is only for the cc. How will I change the nozzle to 0.2 once my cc2 arrives, I want to make minis. Amazon is only showing me shady ones with 3 stars at 8 reviews. Any tutorials?

How to replace standard nozzle for 0.2 on CC2

Hello, I was in the middle of buying the CC2 bundle when I realized the assembled hotend on the website is for the CC, not the second one.
How would I put a 0.2 nozzle on the second one when all the tutorials are for the first one and mostly show a fully assembled hot end kit instead of a nozzle switch?

I need steps to vent out the fumes of my CC2

Hello, I am going to buy a Centauri carbon 2 in a few hours. I want to know what videos can show the steps in order to have ventilation for my printer, specifically installing an exhaust duct to it going out of my window. The Reddit posts on any subreddit say I need something called an intake fan to pull out the air, other posts tell me I don’t need it and I just need to get the duct on the exhaust and then bring it out the window. I also seen some say printing pla is harmless if I open a window. Any tutorials? They seem different from each other or aren’t the CC2.

Sorry about the post flair being wrong, it won’t let me scroll and it doesn’t have one for questions. At least, for the first few.

Ventilation for CC2

Hello, I am buying a CC2 in about a few hours but I need to cover one last base. I heard the printer came with a filter of its own, but if I print pla, is there any way to filter out any VOCS apart from an exhaust pipe? I can’t get one of thoses at the moment.
