Game design quirk, such as how Ulfric Stormcloak stares at the player in the Skyrim intro because of a programming where all NPCs naturally look at the player when in a certain radius, or intentional detail?

Does he know we are there trying to track down his poison??

Parrying Bulwarks is so much fun cuz you can see them getting more and more frustrated at how mashing R1 and nothing else is suddenly not working

The music in this game is the best I’ve ever heard (Quinta Elite and Zanni are genuinely the best OSTs I’ve ever heard, with Divine Beast Dancing Lion being the other in my top three)

The parries are satisfying as hell, though I still parry way too early on many strikes, and the ink/energy afterimages on the weapons, like the black ink on Curtis Prince of Laughter’s polearm, or the pink trails from the Lumberjack boss when he swings, are a stylistic choice I love for some reason. It feels like I’m fighting in a painting

Anyhow, before going to this area, I beat Vermiglio, The Red Prior, a fight I honestly hated, at Lvl 42 and with the Funereal Flamberge at plus 3 or 4, can’t recall, but here I think I have it at +5 or +6. I always loved the Zweihander and the dlc Flame Knight’s Greatsword colossal sword in Elden Ring, and the fact that colossal swords’ heavy attacks stunlock some bosses like the mini-Curtises and Vermiglio makes me feel like I’m on easy mode, until I meet one that isn’t affected or that pulls out bullshit like Vermiglio does

Guan Yu is one of the toughest gimmick fights in the game.

His gimmick is that he absolutely never stops attacking, and you must go 666 out of 10 on the aggression to win, while also perfect parrying…

…Or you do it like I did for around 20 tries, eventually getting here and flailing about dodge spamming instead of parrying, and getting REALLY lucky, and only realizing on the final fatal strike that I somehow had gotten him this far down without drinking a flash once.

Weirdly, Promised Consort Radahn was similar. On my winning no summons run, I finished having only drunk 10 of my 14 flasks, and had only drunk 4 by the time he was down to 15% HP. I guess it just clicks/I get lucky, and not staggering/wasting time lets me get in the crucial hits.

I’m aware that this embedment is more for triggering “X special effect on HP Restoration”, but A- is kinda a little useful, and a proper AA to look forward to would be nice
