If you are remote professional (or VA), don't ever try gambling.

My life was good until I learned gambling.

Dati, kuntento na ako sa kinikita ko sa isang client ko which is around 55,000.

Ngayon, I'm earning more than triple the amount of that pero hindi ako masaya. Bakit?

Kasi lahat ng sinasahod ko, pambayad lang ng utang. I lost so much in gambling that I had to find new clients to pay for my debts and it is not healthy. It's draining me physically, mentally and emotionally.

Total accumulated loss now at almost 1 million and debt now at 350,000. Nakakapanghina at nakakagigil na napunta lang ang pinagtrabauhan kong pera sa walang kwentang bagay.

Kaya if you are a VA, don't try gambling or easy money. It will not just ruin your finances but also your work and your relationship with your friends and families.

I'm sober now, self-banned from PAGCOR, and I'm paying my debts with all my might kahit wala na matira sa sahod. I don't want my credit score to be affected cause I know, those can be useful if I plan to build my own house or buy something big.

If you don't know where to put all your money, just invest in yourself through education, or invest in something na mababa man ang kita pero safe.

That's it. Trabaho na ulit.

nakakapagod. Lord, bakit mo pinahintulutan na malulong ako sa gantong bisyo? 😭

ivana will destroy millions of families thru this petty iphone giveaway

You read that right.

Those “free iPhone” giveaways aren’t just harmless promotions. They’re an incredibly effective way to get people to follow a gambling platform, create curiosity, and eventually get more people to try online gambling. For some, that’s exactly where addiction begins.

Maybe Casino Plus paid millions for that endorsement. But no amount of money can compare to the lives that will be shattered - the savings drained, the debts that pile up, the families torn apart, and the people who become trapped in gambling addiction.

I’m deeply disappointed.

With a platform that reaches millions, she could have encouraged financial literacy, education, or any cause that genuinely helps people. Instead, she chose to promote online gambling.

I’m not speaking as a random hater. I’m speaking as someone whose own life was devastated by gambling addiction. I know what it costs. I know the shame, the debt, the sleepless nights, and the damage it leaves behind.

That’s why seeing that video go viral makes me sick.

This isn’t just another sponsored post. For some people, it could be the first step into an addiction that changes their lives forever.

Those who had third surgeries, how was it?

They found another 3 enlarged lymph nodes on my right neck and doctor said RAI won’t kill them anymore. They advised me to undergo third surgery which is neck dissection and I’m freaking out. This is just another problem on top of me having faint lung metastasis.

To those who experienced this, what did you do when your doctor advised you for another surgery? Did you wait for the lymph nodes to grow in sizes or had surgery right away?

I’m just 24 and I’m so fed up with this disease.

I honestly don’t want another surgery as I already had complications before (loss voice for 6 months on my first surgery, and then unable to move my head for three days on the second). It sucks. FUCK CANCER

Very supressed but thyroglobulin is still at 5.04

I’m worried about my results. It was my first time having my thyroglobulin checked and it’s not looking good. I had partial thyroidectomy on October 2024 and completion thyroidectomy with left neck dissection on December 2025. Then RAI 150mcg on January 26, then whole body scan which showed I had “FAINT” lung metastasis that are RAI-avid.

Anyone with same case? Please I need your words od encouragement. Will also have my neck ultrasound soon to see if there is still thyroid tissue in my neck.

13 days sober after 31k loss during relapse

I should have been 26 days sober but I relapsed on my 13th day and lost 31k of my salary (total loss now at 800k).

Now, I’m 13th day sober again and no relapse so far. Siguro nabusy na rin sa work kaya wala na time sa sugal, which is a good thing.

On to being gambling-free and debt-free. 🙏

what’s wrong with me is underrated, i expected it to be top 4 in the album 🥹

It’s not getting recognition it deserves or the general population just finds honeybee (this is also good, like a song I’d play in my wedding lol) more deserving?

spotify is full of gambling ads

I’m Olivia Rodrigo fan and I’ve been listening to her newest album “You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love” and damn it, after playing one song, gambling ads pops up. For us gamblers, this is a big deal as it triggers us pero what I will do now is just to subscribe to spotify premium to turn this annoying ads off. Spotify subscription is nothing compared to my losses anyways lols

Struggling to get bookkeeping/accounting clients — what’s worked for you?

Hey everyone, just looking for some honest advice from other service business owners.

I’m an accountant/bookkeeper with around 5 years of experience working with U.S. firms, mainly handling bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online and Desktop. I’ve worked on cleanups, reconciliations, and ongoing bookkeeping, but lately I’ve been finding it really hard to secure new clients.

It feels like bookkeeping/accounting has become very saturated, especially online, and I’m struggling to stand out despite having solid experience.

I’m also dealing with thyroid cancer, so I’ve been pushing extra hard to find stable clients and income, but so far it hasn’t been going great.

For those running service-based businesses, how are you actually getting clients right now? Referrals, networking, cold outreach, content, niche positioning, partnerships, paid ads? I’d really appreciate hearing what’s worked (or didn’t work) for you.

Do most Shopify store owners hire a bookkeeper?

Hey everyone, just curious about how you handle bookkeeping for your Shopify stores.

Do you manage it yourself, have an in-house person, or outsource a bookkeeper/accountant who actually understands eCommerce and Shopify workflows?

I’ve noticed Shopify/eCommerce bookkeeping seems a lot more complex compared to service-based businesses (inventory, payment processors, refunds, chargebacks, sales tax/VAT, multiple apps, etc.), so I’m curious how other store owners approach it.

At what stage did bookkeeping become something you outsourced, and did it make a noticeable difference for your business?

What Should I Learn About Accounting for Law Firms? (PI & Criminal Defense)

Hi everyone,

I’m a senior bookkeeper working with a California-based bookkeeping firm and a Texas-based accounting firm. I have experience across industries like eCommerce, construction, contractors, and service-based businesses.

One niche I’d like to understand better is law firms, particularly personal injury and criminal defense firms. I’m trying to deepen my understanding of their accounting nuances, especially around revenue recognition, trust accounts, retainers, equity, and any industry-specific bookkeeping/accounting practices.

I previously worked with a law firm client, but their setup was fairly straightforward - most revenue was recorded as service income, and expenses were treated pretty traditionally. I’m curious if there are more complex areas I should be studying or paying closer attention to, particularly for contingency-fee firms or firms with partner distributions.

For those with experience in legal accounting, what would you recommend learning first? Any common mistakes, best practices, or resources you’d suggest?

The bottomless pit scared the hell out of me

Yesterday was my wake-up call to end gambling once and for all. I finally hit the bottomless pit.

I already self-excluded last month, but the urge to gamble never stopped. I kept telling myself I just needed one big win to recover my losses and pay off my 400k debt. Even after self-excluding, I still found ways to gamble without getting tagged as a PAGCOR-banned player. I used a spare SIM to register again and paid through QR codes connected to my bank account so no GCash or Maya would be involved. Deposit after deposit, I watched my money disappear.

Then desperation fully took over.

I lost the money I had saved to pay my credit card - money that could’ve helped reduce my debt. Instead of getting better, I dug myself deeper. Now I’m sitting at 450k (7500 USD) in debt.

I finally told my family everything.

They want me to go to rehab, and honestly, I want to go too because I know I need help with this madness.

I cried harder than I ever have in my life. The kind of crying where you feel powerless. I kept asking God for forgiveness - for being greedy, for lying, for hurting the people who never stopped loving me.

My mom has always been there for me, but I kept lying to her, telling her I’d quit when I didn’t. Watching her see me destroy myself has been one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced.

My siblings comforted me, but they also told me the truth: if I don’t stop now, I could lose everything - not just money, but my sanity.

One of my sisters even took my phone so I won’t have access to gambling anymore. I’m writing this from my work laptop.

I’m posting this for anyone who still thinks they can win it back.

Please stop before you hit the bottomless pit.

Because once you’re there, it’s terrifying.

What gambling stole from me wasn’t just money, it stole my peace, my honesty, my mental health, and parts of the person I used to be.

My biggest realization through all this is: life is too short to waste chasing money through gambling. I realized I don’t need millions. I don’t need to be rich to impress people.

What I already have is worth more than anything I ever chased - my family.

And for them, and for myself, I’m choosing to fight this and rebuild my life.

And to anyone struggling like me: we don’t have to fight this alone. Recovery is hard, and there are days when willpower feels impossible. We should trust God to help heal us through this, because some battles are too heavy to carry by ourselves. I’m learning that healing starts when we stop pretending we can do everything alone and start asking for help from God, from family, and from people who truly want to see us recover.

i know myself so i banned myself from all casino apps in app store

Last month, I submitted a self-exclusion request through PAGCOR because I knew I needed to stop gambling for good. But I realized that despite that, I could still access a lot of the popular casino apps on the App Store.

So today, I did something for my future self: I downloaded every major casino app I used to access and contacted customer support to request permanent bans/closures on my accounts.

My addiction was mainly live casino games (especially Crazy Time and color game), not slots, so I specifically made sure I no longer have access to platforms offering those.

I know addiction can make you do irrational things in moments of weakness, and I’m trying to make it harder for “future me” to relapse when emotions hit or temptation comes back. I’m not pretending this magically fixes everything, but it feels like one concrete step toward recovery.

I’m trying to fight this because I want my life back. I hope one day my future self looks back and says this was the moment I genuinely tried to beat this addiction.

the guilt is heavy and i deserved it

losses after losses. relapses after relapses. lies after lies.

this addiction took so much from me not just financially but also mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

lost almost half a million just for this year alone.

i (24m) told everything to my mom(senior). hindi man nya ako sinisi but rather she advised me not to do it again. sabi “ikaw nalang pag-asa ko nak, huwag mo na ulitin yun” while handing me the groceries, foods, and fruits she bought for me as she knew i exhausted all my money that i can’t even afford basic needs.

i may have lost a lot. but i will keep fighting because i have a mom that i need to pay back when i recover.

sa lahat ng di pa rin tumitigil dyan, think of your loved ones. don’t be selfish. you’re ruining your life but you’re also ruining theirs.

we’re more than this. let’s all beat this. one day at a time.

Online gambling + online lending apps + withdrawable CCs = Philippine’s Doomsday

I made a lot of bad decisions in life, especially with gambling. Before, it was so easy to access since it was available through GCash, and I eventually became addicted to it. Overall, my total losses have reached around 500k PHP.

Out of that amount, around 355k came from credit cards, Atome loans, and Shopee Sloan. I currently earn around 100k per month, but I realized that if I don’t completely remove my access to online gambling and easy credit, I’ll just continue ruining my life financially.

So if you’re in the same situation, please stop as early as you can. Chasing “easy money” can destroy you before you even realize it. Take it from someone who already lost a huge amount. I may never recover the money I lost, but through hard work and discipline, I know I can slowly pay off my debts and rebuild my life.
