For noen råskinn.

So, what's the deal with Death Mountain in Twilight Princess...?

Twilight Princess' Death Mountain doesn't even seem to be a volcano. Not only this, but the thing you always see from all places in the game where Death Mountain is visible, is the giant lava rock-like formation on top. What is that, exactly? It's certanly not a normal mountain, nor a volcano. And since it's so big, and in sight from all over Hyrule (including the atheral place where you learn the various wolf songs), it has to be important.

It honestly seems like a meteor. Could it be that a meteor crashed into Hyrule, which is why the landscape is the way it is? There are massive cracks in the ground all over Hyrule, including Gerudo Desert, Hyrule Field, and more, as well as massive bottomless pits all over. Perhaps this is why the central part of Hyrule moved further north? Was the old Hyrule Castle, Zora's Domain, Kakariko Village, etc. destroyed in the meteor impact, perhaps?

[ALL] I've tried to make an accurate comparison between various maps in the series. How accurate do you feel this is?

The maps are obviously different between each game, which can be explained both in-unvierse and for game design reasons. In-universe, a whole lot of time takes place between most games to where places and landmarks change, and as Twilight Princess shows us, some sort of colossal damage to the landscape must have happened as there's cracks in the ground everywhere (perhaps to the weird meteor-looking thing on Death Mountain?). In real life, it makes sense due to hardware differences, scales being different (where stronger hardware has more room for paths and such while weaker hardware prioritized points of interest, etc.)

But anyway, I'm curious to know what you think! Do you think this is semi-accurate? Or is there perhaps some info I've missed that makes this not work?

Weird question, but is there anywhere in AoI where we see south of Hyrule?

This is mainly for a timeline theory I'm making. In BOTW/TOTK, both to the east and to the south we see a massive ocean. I was wondering, as I haven't been able to play AoI myself:

Does any of you know if we ever see south of Hyrule at any point in AoI? And if so, is the endless ocean there here, too?

I'm a non-believer, but one that tries to be open and curious on all faiths and religions. I have some questions for Christians I'd love to have answered/have friendly discussions on!

I'm 28, I'm not a believer, but I'm also open to there being more to this universe and existence than just a mere coincidence that came out of nothing without any purpose. I'm simply having a hard time believing things, but I'm very curious about all kinds of religions, faiths, supernatural experiences, personal experiences, and more.

And so I have some questions, some of which are statements as to why I find it hard to believe, that I'd love to get new perspectives of, as I haven't been able to talk to a lot of Christians face-to-face. And I'd love to have friendly discussions of things if it opens up to that! And I'm gonna try to be as "brutally" honest as I feel, just to make my questions or perspectives clear. Please don't see it as me mocking your faith; it's merely my perspective based on my life and the knowledge and experiences I've had, which has shaped my world views, and I'm curious to hear others' :) And as I said, I'd love to get new perspectives or answers to them from any of you!

And please, feel free to ask me any questions you might have, too! So these aren't all questions per se, but more so points I have that I struggle with to believe in Christianity.

  1. I don't understand the logic of Jesus. I don't doubt Jesus of Nazareth was a real man. I think there's enough records to confidentelly claim that he existed. I personally believe he was a very wise man, ahead of his time, who understood something we don't. But I find it hard to believe that he not only was the son of God/God in human form, but that no one gets to heaven without believing in him. Because what is really meant with "believing in him?" Believing he is the way/the truth? But what is implied in that? Because the wods "truth" and "the way" sparks thoughts that are different for every single person. And where does the treshold go? What if I believe in him, but I don't believe in him enough? What if I believe some things about him, and other things I don't? What if I believe in him today, but not as much tomorrow, then a lot the day after, then not at all the day after that? Not only that, but what about people who's never had the chance to learn about Jesus? What about people who has lived and died in captivity, or in cultures where Christianity has never been taught? Are these people just unlocky and doomed to hell? Or what about humans that lived houndreds of thousands of years before Christ?
  2. I also find it hard to believe in the Christian God and Jesus because I don't believe an all-knowing and all-just God would set the requirements of Heaven as believing in and comitting your life to a man from a book. It may seem very logical to you, but for me who hasn't grown up in a Christian home, it's very different. As an example: Say that you've grown up as a Christian. Then when you're 20, you start to really learn about another religion you've just heard some stuff of here and there as you grew up. And you learn that, in this religion, it's taught that if you kiss a tree every day you have the opportunity to, you'll have everything you've dreamt of in the next life, or in a heavenly situation after death - but if you don't do it, you'll be tortured forever after death because "you chose to abandon God by your own free will". You think to yourself that it all sounds extremely unlikely, that it makes no logical sense with Christianity. Then, after your death, you learn that this religion was the truth after all - and you're sent to be tortured for all eternity. Does that seem fair and just? I just cannot believe that a God, who created the laws of physics and life and the universe of almost infinite planets and stars, would also make a system where humans will suffer for all eternity if they don't believe in extraoridinary claims from a book, written and translated many times throughout thousands of years.
  3. And I've heard many say before that "you believe in other things daily that you just have to trust. Like medicine, or evolution". But those are entierly different in my eyes. These are all grounded in the natural laws of our world and univese, studied and evolved to become better, more evolved, more accurate, with proof and evidence of how these conclusions came to be - several of which you can test yourself. When a medicine is taken daily by millions of people, based on X amount of years of medical research, and it has a biological/physical effect on said millions of people daily, it's no wonder I believe it will work when I take it too. If we switch over to believing the Bible and believing Jesus is the truth, I'm left open handed. There is nothing around me that can confirm that. Yes the Bible says these things, but thousands of other books say other things. For someone who hasn't grown up in a Christian household, it's simply not logical for me to easily just believe in a book like this and not the 999 others. We're also not talking about archeology here, or medicine, or other things that are developed and discovered here today that we can see. We're talking about interpretations of supernatural and Godly events from thousands of years ago - and none of us truly know who wrote them, what their true intentions were, how much of it is based on interpretations of events and how much of it is clear facts, or how many times the stories have been altered. And to all of this, you can say "that's why it's called faith". And I agree! That's also why I don't dismiss the possibility that Jesus rose from the dead, that he healed a blind man, and so on. I don't believe it, but I also acknowledge that I don't know the secrets of this universe - so who knows? Maybe it's possible? But there's a difference in being open to the possibility of these extraoridinary stories to be true, and dedicating my life to them. And if the God who created every atom in this universe demands that I just believe in these massive clamis from an ancient book I don't even know who it's written by in order to not burn in everlasting hellfire... I just find that so, so hard to make logical sense.
  4. If so many things happened in the ancient times, why aren't any of it happening today? In the last 100 years? 200 years? I'm talking a man splitting the sea. A man being raised from the dead. A man curing another man's blindness. People getting visions of the future. Angels visiting people. Why are these things happening only in the past?
  5. I've also heard people say that "you shouldn't take this-or-that part of the Bible that seriously, or that this-or-that section is outdated ot irrelevant". But if I can dismiss certain parts of the Bible - the book that is supposed to be the holy book - what gives me any reason to believe any of it? If certain parts can be dismissed and thrown away or classified as outdated, why can I then trust anything of what the book says?

I just want you all to know that, again, I'm not saying none of this can potentially be true. I actually want to believe in something higher, but I need evidence to do so. The image of a God that has ressonated the most with me however, is the image of a parent letting his child out to play. The parent cannot keep the child inside - they won't learn anything. And so the child must play outside without their parents. And thus, you as a parent cannot guarantee that the child won't get hurt, that they won't trip and fall, that they won't get a bruise. Of course, you don't want that to happen, but you can't prevent it from happening. And if they get really hurt, you'll always be there to take care of them when they come home, to remind them that they're always safe in the end. And to me, what I've thought about a lot myself and concluded a bit with myself, is that this world, and its suffering and unjustice and catastrophes and such, must be this way in order to function. It's easy to think that "an all powerful God could have made the world like this-or-that", but that's our idea of all-powerful. Maybe for a physical universe to function and exist, this is actually how it has to be? Maybe everything has to work this way in order for everything else to function? One thing affects the other, and so it goes for the endless things that make up this universe. That has made sense to me, at least. That, no, an all powerful God couldn't just make a universe exactly how he wanted, just like a game developer cannot make a game precicely how he wants. There are rules the game world has to follow in order to work. There are limitations, and one thing in the code affects everything else. Maybe this is how things must be in order for a physical universe to function?

What are your thoughts on the massive Void and tree underneath Ganondorf's seal?

So the Temple of Light, aka the mysterious temple deep underneath Hyrule Castle which holds Ganondorf's seal, is said to be one of the most ancient Zonai constructions (which could mean it was either built long before Skyward Sword, or some time after all previous games but still 10 000+ years before BOTW/TOTK, depending on if you believe in a true founding or refounding). Unfortunately due to the Upheaval, much of the temple is completely destroyed and corridors and doorways blocked by rock. So the temple was probably much bigger than what we see.

But I always found it so mysterious and strange - and almost eerie. A temple built deep, deep below the ground, which goes even deeper with that huge staircase. And below the imprisoning chamber, we find remains of another apparent corridor, leading to a huge platform with a hole in the midle that goes down to the massive tree and void below. So there must have been a path leading into this corridor too. So,

  1. What do you think was special about this place? In AoI we learn that several places in the Depths are places of special powers of some kind. What do you think was special about the place the Temple of Light was built?
  2. What do you think the Temple of Light's original purpose was?
  3. Do you think the Imprisoning Chamber itself was means as an imprisoning chamber originally? Or do you think Rauru and the others could have techincally used any room in the Temple to get this "power boost", but simply chose the chamber because it was fitting in size?
  4. What do you think the huge Void below the temple is? As said, there was clearly a path going there as part of the temple, with a jump-off platform, so the Zonai probably built the Temple over this Void, and this corridor as a way to travel down to the Void. But what do you think it is? It's honestly unsettling how there's just this deep darkness in the lowest part of the Depths
  5. What do you think the massive tree in the Void is that Ganondorf takes over? Do you think it once was essentially a giant light root? I've had theories that the Void is the Evil Realm itself where Demise, Shades and all evil comes from, and that the big tree down there once acted as a giant light root to keep evil from escaping the void/Evil Realm.

Does the Master Works timeline confirm a True Founding?

Link to the image (Creating a Champion timeline on the left,TOTK Masterworks timeline on the right): https://imgur.com/a/cB6tNIM

People say this is proof Nintendo doesn't care about the lore, or that this confirms a refounding for some reason. But I see this as the exact opposite, aka as proof of a True Founding.

On the MW timeline, most people I've seen place the Era of Myht (aka the whole main timeline) between "Beginning" and "Era of the Age of Gods". Meaning ALL older games take place before the Zonai's story even begins.

But first of all, that doesn't make much sense, as there are several pieces of evidence that point towards the Zonai being Hylian's ancestors. And if Hylia gave the Zonai the secret stones, it makes sense she did it while she was still alive in physical divine form (aka long before Skyward Sword). After SS, she only existed as a spirit... so did she somehow keep the Secret Stones in spirit form, for thousands of years, until the Zonai popped up on the surface?

But, the piece on the timeline that makes me think it proves a True Founding, happens further down. Look at "More than 10 000 years ago" on the MW timeline. It says that Hyrule prospers and that Calamity Ganon appears, and under there (in the midle of a double-wavey line mind you, meaning a long time passed), it says "Ganon is revived and sealed away again many times".

So this part, aka the part where Hyrule prospers and Ganon appears and is sealed away many times, happens between Hyrule's founding and the great calamity 10 000 years ago. Now people again believe that this is also long after the other games, and that this is between Hyrule's REFOUNDING and the 10 000 years old Calamity. But, take a look over to the Creating a Champion timeline on the left

The "Long ago" section, aka the Era of Myth, has almost the EXACT same description as the "More than 10 000 years ago" section on the MW timeline. The CaC timeline says Hyrule flourished, that Ganondorf appears and becomes Ganon, and that "Ganon is revived and sealed away again many times".

This is almost word for word to the "More than 10 000 years ago" part on the MW timeline - and that part happens AFTER Hyrule's founding and the Zonai period. And, it makes sense from a True Founding perspective, as it starts in Ocarina, which is after Hyrule's founding but before the 10 000 year Calamity.

This makes so much sense, because in-universe, the Era of Myth is still exactly as vague as in BOTW; the difference now is that, due to Zelda's time travel, they now have tons of information BEFORE the Era of Myth that they've filled in. Aka the Era of the Age of the Gods

Do you think these two random one-off background characters at Beulla's place represent, connect to, or have any remation to the Arm and Giant?

[Japanese > English] Translate part of a game developer interview

It's best if this isn't translated by fans of The Legend of Zelda haha, as I want "clean" eyes on this translation!

Basically, this is the last part of a developer interview of the latest big Zelda game. In one of the questions, the developer (Fujibayashi) responds by saying something about something being destroyed, going under, or something similar.

The big question that many argue about here is: In the context of that question and that answer, is it more likely that he's saying something akin to "Before the founding of Hyrule kingdom, there may be history of the kingdom being destroyed before that", or that "Before the founding of Hyrule kingdom, there may be history that is lost or destroyed"? Aka, is it more likely that he's saying the kingdom was once destroted at one point, or that there is history of the past that's lost?

Confused about how Perks really work in BO7

Not the perk system in itself of course,

but there are various types of ways to get them, and I really need a good explaination about what is what, and what works with what, hah!

So unless I forget something, the ways to get Perks are as follows:

  • Buy straight from machines
  • Soda Foundtain gobblegum
  • Perkaholic gobblegum
  • Perk Can powerup drop (from normal drops, On The House gum, etc. which gives all players an extra random Perk)
  • Mystery Perk loot (Pick up fom ground. Usually from TEDD Trials, but also from other loot side quests)
  • Specific Perk loot (Same as Mystery Perk, but it's a specific Perk instead of a random one. Less commonly seen than Mystery Perk, but you get these from the clock side quest in Paradox, for example)
  • Side quests that grant you a specific Perk directly (I know BO6 had several of these, like the Deadshot quest in Liberty Falls. BO7 has at least the quest with the soda machines at the diner in Ashes, but not sure if there are any other quests like this that grant you a Perk directly?)

So what I'm confused by are the following questions:

  1. What other side quests grant you Specific Perk loot, as I call it? Because I only really remember it happening with the Paradox Junction clock side quest
  2. Are Mystery Perks the only ones from the list above that grant Eternal Perks?
  3. With the Moon orb relic that restricts you to 4 Perk slots, which of the ones above actually allows you to bypass that limit? I remember someone saying Mystery Perks from TEDD Trials specifically can do this, but only if you "drink them directly from the box" instead of dropping them to the ground? If so, not only does that sound extremely weird and oddly specific, but how do you even drink it directly from a trial box without dropping it onto the ground first?

The various weapon bugs HAVE to be fixed. Now. Just got two Wicked Relic runs completely screwed over because of it...!

Last night I finally did another attempt at the "beat Ashes' main quest on round 60+". I had Sam's Drawing relic on which cycled weapons every round, except wonder weapons. Did all steps except the last one, and started grinding to round 60. Got to round 54 before I had to quit, and wanted to continue today.

The Necro-whatever wonder weapon was gone... replaced by another random weapon, meaning I couldn't do the final trial, aka I was locked out unless I got it again from the Mystery Box... I got frustrated and just quit.

And so I tried the two Round 60 relics on Astra. Again, got to about round 48 before I saved and quit, went to work out, then came back now. Things worked, and I made sure to have the wonder weapon in my first weapon slot and not my 3rd. That was until the round swapped. I played 1 round, and after the round swap, the Wonder Weapon WAS GONE, and I only had 2 weapons instead of 3... So not only did my 3rd gun go away, but I lost the wonder weapon AGAIN. The wonder weapon that I had spent 175k on to 4x PaP it. So 175k out the window, and I was left with a 1x PaP'd weapon and like 8k points. So I quit.

Both of these runs also made me waste 2 Perkaholics and several other gums, as well as hours of my life.

If you're gonna make challenges require a grind to round 60, can you make sure your game fucking works 6 months into its life cycle? Please? Like, holy fuck.

Are these images new and never-before-seen, or have they always been public?

From the released documents today

u/WwwWario — 2 months ago

Oof, I will be slaughtered for this lmao, but it's just my personal taste!

I've played since BO1, and I think BO7's mechanics are much better than that of the "classics", aka WaW - BO3. I will use BO3 as the comparison here since it's the newest of the classics, and BO7 for the modern as it's the newest.

I think the Perk system is miles better. BO3's system is a weird hybrids sytem that doesn't really know what it wants to be. It wants to be a "pick your playstyle" system by having 4 slots and several more Perks than that to choose from. But it also retains the system from WaW where there were only 4 Perks, and thus the Perks were designed to be things you would and should buy. And this old philosophy was never changed going forward into BO1 when more Perks were introduced. This resulted in a system where they want you to pick and choose, but the problem with that is that all Perks need to be very carefully balanced in order for there to be reasons to switch up your Perk selection - but they retained the old design Jugg and QR where they are essentials. There is 0 reason not to buy both of them (QR particularely in solo), and perks like Deadshot was not balanced on par with the others.

BO7's system... I honestly find it perfect. With the removal of the Perk limit where each next one gets more expensive, It's no longer a choice of which 4 perks to pick, but rather which ones you prioritize to get first. And since difficulty is balanced around being able to have all Perks, you really feel the progression of getting more and more Perks, and the more Perks are added via updates, that progression gets even longer. Plus, Augments open up so much replay value.

Progression is another main factor. What I didn't like in BO3 and previous titles was how fast you got everything ready. Buy your 4 perks, PaP your guns once, and you're pretty much set in terms of core progression. In BO7, I love how you more slowly and gradually get stronger and stronger throughout the match. In BO3, you'd be set up early, with tons of points to spare with nothing but traps to really spend it on - and if you went down, rebuying your 4 perks wasn't expensive. In BO7, especially in Tier 2 and 3 cursed with Gold Armor, Tier 4 PaP and Ultra Rarity, I feel like I'm constantly progressing and getting stronger way into the 40s and 50s. Armor, Perks, Ammo Mods, Rarity tiers, PaP levels... It gives me more to do, gives me a bigger sense of progression, more choices in what I want to prioritize, and points are more important than ever. I no longer end up with tens of thousands of points with nothing to spend it on. Even if I am fully set up, points are still important as rebuying your Perks if you go down is really expensive, so saving up points is super important.

The main thing I dislike about BO7's core gameplay is the Zombie respawn system, where you can't walk too far away before Zombies start respawning in front of you. I get they want it to be more chaotic and making you think more on the spot, but I think the Zombies AI already is great enough for this purpose to where the respawn system can be toned down a bit.

Honestly, BO7 in Cursed Mode (aka, with the classic point system and forced starting pistol) is the most fun I've had in Zombies in a long, long time.

What I know, or think I know:

It's the place people like Maxis tried to reach. It's based on the conspiracy theory/mythos of Agartha being a land inside a hollow Earth. In the storyline, it seems to not only be a physical place, but it also seems to be a copy of Earth (Monty's house seems to be located on the countryside somewhere in England). It's where Monty lives and he can communicate into the other dimensions from there, and Maxis can do that too via radios. The Apothicons' goal is to reach Agartha too.

So,

  • What is Agartha really? Is it an alternate dimension just like all other dimensions in the fractured multiverse? Or is it a special dimension in some way?
  • Is Monty the only one living here, or do other people live here too considering we can see other houses nearby and the fact that it seems to be a copy of Earth?
  • What's special about Agartha - aka, why does Maxis and the Apothicons want to reach this place?
  • If it's not part of the multiverse, does Agartha still exist in the reset timeline post-Tag?
  • If Monty's plan was to survive by remaining in Agartha and not let the Apothicons take over, AND he seems to be aware of the cycle (?), why doesn't he just prevent events from happening? Hide the Summoning Key anywhere else, for example, preventing the Shadowman from ever escaping, preventing the need for a cycle at all?
