Grand Seiko is the high end snoozefest of watches

I get it, best movements in the industry and exceptional craftsmanship and detailing. But at the end of the day it just looks like a fancier Seiko 5. Some of their co-branding like Nissan GT-R edition also robs the brand of it's traditional, no nonsense demeanor.

anyway, 4 dollars a pound

You were always a little bastard!

I've had a lot on my mind lately. What are the chances Minn Matrone actually knew of Paulie's true origins? She was lifelong friend with Mama Nucci and surely people out and about the neighborhood, especially in a gossip driven place like New Jersey, found it suspicious she up and had a new baby without showing any obvious signs of carrying one before hand.

It's a brilliant double entendre, as Paulie was probably always out causing some kind of trouble from the moment he could walk but he is, infact, a bastard child and never knew his father.

It's further interesting that his father "Russ" was a solider, and Paulie served in U.S. Army Signal Corps for 4 years likely in his late teens/early 20s - still formative years. Yet somehow not one iota of this is shown in his candor or discipline especially when he stepps even a few feet off pavement.

How much more betrayal could he take?

Camille Vasquez as Johnny Depp's co-stsar in Pirates of the Caribbean 6?

Camille Vasquez and Johnny Depp had an amazing Riz during his pivotal 2022 trials. They captivated the world and had a chemistry that elevated all who beheld ultimately winning Johnny Depp's innocence. Fans even wanted to digitally remove Amber Heard from Aquaman and replace her with Camille Vasquez. Interviews with her Jason Momoa seem to add credibility to this.

If the 2025 Lexus ES carried on but without the V6 and only the hybrid 300h powertrain would you still be interested?

It's a real shame Lexus upset so many customers with the new and very different ES. I think that new crown based model should have been the EX and the ES carried forward as hybrid only with that V6 being discontinued itself across the entire Toyota lineup (except the IS but that's a different schtory).

Would this arrangement have been ok for you?

Dating Advice: "Investment seminars are a great place to meet someone."

Has anyone else here been told this , or any experience along these lines?

Personally, I well up with rage at being advised this cynical rubbish.

EDIT: This advice was given by a psychologist/therapist. (!!)

Look at Furio, what's so bad about him?

Carmella is talking shit about Meadow going to Europe and meeting a guy "You want her to marry a foreigner?" and Tony's comeback is actually him validating her chasing after fucking Furio ("look at Furio, what's so bad about him?)". The resulting stare at this point, this show is pure comedy.

What do you suppose Furio did to the Armagnac guy?

This episode concludes so effectively. Furio knocks on the guy's door, he answers. They merely exchange glances: Furio is extremely neutral and direct while Armagnac guy is only slightly inquisitive or surprised and then it cuts.

Knowing Furio's ability to instantly invoke brutal violence, how do you supposed repayment of Tony's money played out.?

Thoughts on if Eminem will ever headline the Superbowl 1/2 time show?

Given the response, he technically did "headline" one already but siriusly: our guy has the starpower for it, if his recent Jay-Z cameo is any hint. But would they want him to do it? Would he want to? Would there be a significance to this?

And of course, what songs would one expect? I'm thinking the more introspective, and positive numbers entirely post MMLP. He will probably bring out a few of the Aftermath crew in tow, specifically 50 cent (this could cause some upset) and maybe crossover with a surprise artist or just Ed Sheeran.

I make music to make you sick of fake music. Hate music like Devil worship and Satan music.

Eminem's "Satanic" persona seems to have ended with D12 world (after skipping The Eminem Show entirely). I really enjoyed this kind of reckless instigation. How about you? What was your favorite Satanic Eminem moment?

43M - never dated, always single. Thoughts?

Growing up, family life was rough, lots of bullying all around and I never developed much agency or confidence. Bullying went on throughout my adulthood at work too because I thought it was acceptable to just play along. I also hated being alone so accepted it as the cost. Life is mostly about tolerating and surviving the current dilemma and and then finding a prize at the end of the struggle. I'm kind of a "Lone Wolf" but I have a few close friends and am in a sports car club but otherwise I mostly keep to myself. I have my own place on the other side of town from my folks. Once some kind of ice is broken, I hold conversation really well with people in general (less so these days as isolation has been worse than prior years and I tend to interrupt people a lot for some reason) and in the past have had some women friends stick around unusually close for a few years only to cast me aside when they go back to dating or their lives.

I've become extremely used to being alone but also know inside that it's not how I as a person am truly built. I also know that lonely people are at risk for dying early due to lifestyle choices and because of that I work out a lot at home (I'm not a gym person and at 115 lbs, I don't want to tolerate that environment either) and try to have a balanced diet (still working on that). My folks are in their 80s and worry about me being alone, but I tell them I'm dedicated to remaining healthy and sustaining my existence. I occupy my time by maintaining my vehicles, cooking, cleaning, laundry, ironing, gardening, furniture building, repairing stuff and stuff on reddit. My life has developed habits which keep me isolated, I admit this.

I tried a speed dating a few times in my 30s, I just can't get into apps because I just think it's super corny and so much weird stuff goes on. Timeleft seems like an interesting idea.

Anyway, curious for your thoughts.

Peace.

You're really lucky, you know that? You didn't have to wait your whole life to do something special.

The absurdity of Walt's statement leaves Jesse speechless. Ol' Berg truly believes that cooking drugs which destroy people, families and communities is something of a higher cause beyond merely making money, only because he can do it better than anyone.

It just goes to show how delusional he is, and how separated Walt is from reality and those closest to him.

What are your interpretations of this final flashback?

u/WhereWeUsedToPlay — 1 month ago

A series dedicated to Jesse would be absolutely warranted.

His parents are an interesting commentary on contemporary American parenting. It's obvious that if they had been better, more understanding and patient people perhaps Jesse could have tapped into his potential and not grown up to be a moron. The major age gap b/w him and his little brother also makes me wonder if there was a middle sibbling (or 2) whom they also forsook because the just didn't know wtf they are doing.

In a series of flashbacks, and flash forwards not unlike Better Call Saul this and many other pillars of The Jesse could be explored.

Other interesting topics would include :

  • Flashback to more deep and involving conversations with Jane (because fans love her so)
  • Cameos with Saul
  • More details on the work that Wexler did for his friend, as hinted in that one BCS episode
  • Jesse finding employment, society and structure in Alaska
  • His brushes with temptation to begin cooking again
  • His new love interest : Anastasia
  • His return to drawing superheroes
  • His discovery of other siblings otherwise not mentioned in BB
  • Returning to ABQ to save his little brother from his parents and Rodrigo Salamanca
  • The very nice 60 series Toyota Land Cruiser shown at the end of El Camino
  • The time he almost drowned in 3 inches of water at the penguin exhibit
  • And most importantly, Jesse finding professional theraputic support for the abuse and manupilation at the hands of The Heisenberg.

Major drop in outdoor cat sightings.

So when I first moved into my house, I installed 8 perimeter cameras. I used to see all kinds of different cats around, different colors and sizes, maybe 1 or 2 with collars. I kinda gave them names but never interacted w/ them directly. In the spring and summer I'd see kittens and I guess they grew up. But for the last year or so I have only seen one and that was an isolated incident. It's been a very long time, I feel like the colony boarded a bus and left :(.

Any idea what happened?

The moment ol' Berg realizes he has nothing.

Flush with pride at cowing the Declan gang, he's got their boss saying his name like he's their daddy. But when they get "home" Mike won't even say thanks as he's visibly sick of Walter's ego and Jesse has grown immune to his barrage of manipulation, insults and lures. Walt's own family has long fallen apart, and kids are gone stripping him of his fatherhood while the abusive manipulative father he's so painstakingly tried to make of himself for Jesse has died here too. Jesse's closest thing to a father figure is Mike and Walt just can't stand his existence for it.

Walt is nothing to anyone who matters not even the ones he detests.

This scene is a simple brilliant focus pull, I made a composite of the 2 frames just for fun.

What do you think?
