Ayla: The Daughter of War (2017)

True story about a Turkish sergeant who rescues a 5-year-old orphan during the Korean War.

Even though this film is mostly in Turkish, and has very little Korean, I still believe it belongs here and highly recommend it. Don't miss out on this masterpiece... Just bring a box of tissues.

There are also YouTube clips of their real-life reunion after 60 years apart.

Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?

Zasto smo tvrdoglavi primitivci?

On: 🫩

Fun fact: Romans were short because they were vegetarian

Unlike their Paleolithic ancestors, who were tall and strong thanks to a diverse diet packed with meat, fish, and plants. Also they had no cavities and straight teeth. Once the Roman era and agricultuire hit, oral health fuckin collapsed.

Before farming, hunter-gatherers hunted freaking wild cattle, horses, deer, and mammoths, aka a steady supply of amino cunting acids vital for bone growth and muscle density.

Meanwhile, the fuckwit Romans lived on mostly bread and wheat-based meals. Lol. Infidels.

If you liked Little Forest, you should watch Perfect Days

Only film that made me feel this way since Little Forest. Also the first Japanese film I've ever watched btw

I went in clueless, so I kept waiting for some big plot twist or dramatic turn, but it never came..and that was, ironically, the twist itself. It was so refreshing.

Just a quiet, meditative story about finding joy and meaning in everyday life. One of the most peaceful and comforting films I've ever seen.

If you enjoyed Little Forest, I'd highly recommend Perfect Days.

Does it really matter for beginners to do easy/Z2 runs?

Should I stop trying to stay in Zone 2 and just..run?

We don't even run enough volume for any of that to really matter, no?

Same question about following a specific plan/routine.. Do I even care about that when I'm just starting out?

I started running 2 months ago. I only run 2-3 times per week and it's generally 5-8k. plus some races (6k, 5k, and 8k trail so far).
