Since you guys are apparently into melting/burning Goldback videos...

It's true. Goldbacks aren't fireproof.

This is what color would look like on a Goldback in case anyone was wondering.

I found these two guys underneath a lot of things in my desk. The item on the right is also a gold bill but at first glance it is very difficult to tell that it is gold. That's probably why Goldback never opted to use more color than they do.

I finally got the high score on the Oregon Trail!

My entire party died the first couple of runs. It was extremely fun. (It's free to play online it turns out)

Wouldn't it just be easier to call Millennials the smartest generation of all time?

My wife treated me to a Jet Ski rental for our anniversary. I asked the guide if he would prefer his tip in cash or in gold and he wanted the gold.

Most people have never been asked this so the question of gold or cash tends to get attention. Also, to all the haters, I genuinely don't want to give gold to people that don't want it, I'd rather give them cash.

Did you really blunder your queen if I didn't see it?

I'm not very good yet.

The mechanic at the tire shop yesterday was so interested in my Goldbacks that he bought them all out of my wallet.

15 for $120. It's not the first time either.

He took my rook for free but then he couldn't leave.

Is there anything that would've saved from from N to G6?

My son bought into Goldbacks in 2019 with his money from selling eggs door to door. His initial investment was about $55, now it's worth closer to $500.

He was like 6 years old running the door to door egg selling business. I encouraged him to save half in gold. Now he's basically a teenager and this is part of his little nest egg. Had he just saved dollars he'd still only have like $55.

Edit: I stand corrected, on Ebay I'm looking at the $250 - $400 range for this particular piece depending on the quality.

Has anyone ever heard of a new gold product for under $2? The value proposition on these is a bit insane.

The fact that these can be done at all is incredible. Comparably sized bars costs 2.5x - 4x the price. This is what $1.94 buys:

  • A form of Gold that hasn't been counterfeited yet.
  • A precisely known amount gold.
  • 3.5x the visible surface area as a one ounce gold coin.
  • Original artwork
  • Super easy to spend anywhere in the world (It's get for a tip addition, barter item, or a conversation piece)
  • Fits in any wallet including those tiny ones just for cards
  • Has UV reactive ink that shows hidden images. This one contains a jellyfish and a sunken ship!
  • Did I miss anything?
