The best qualification for entering Venture Capital in Europe

Basically per the title - I've just sold my IFA (independent financial advisor) company, I'm in my mid 40s and would like to enter the VC world. Without overdoing it, what's the most well respected or authoritative financial modelling qualification I should get, especially for Europe if there's much of a difference. If there's any other qualification or advice for this, I'd be very grateful.

Careful today 🔥

It's going to be super hot today and my local town hall is spraying the forest - please be careful with fire, it only takes one cigarette.

Seafood - especially Carabineros

Hi! I live just outside Valencia city and would love to find a restaurant where I can eat red prawns and cigalas - but not in a rice necessarily, just top quality and simply grilled. Extra points for city centre or west because the beach doubles my travel time.

I ate a rice on the weekend with carabineros and I can't stop thinking about it 😁

Also, perhaps there's a place to buy them raw but deshelled and deveined?

Charity?

A £2 charity donation will be added to my bill. Who is giving the charity here? What is this charity? I fully support them giving whatever charity they like but it seems like they've made a decision to make a charitable donation with my money. Can't I have the agency to make that decision?

oh, and 15% tip is also added for some reason.

When to add the butter/oil

Hi! I just bought a popcorn maker that uses hot air to pop the corn. I also got Flavacol salt and finally some butter flavoured popcorn oil.

My questions are: is the oil just for popping the corn in a pan? Can I add the oil to the corn before it's popped or will that break the machine? Should I add the oil after the corn is popped and before the Flavacol? I have a spray bottle. Thanks!

Moissanite is... valueless?

So, I was at a commercial gem show recently and a diamond dealer that I struck up a business conversation with, put a solid handful of cut Moissanites in the palm of my hand. I asked him how much (they were probably 50 to 80 pointers) and he said just take them.

Intrigued, and not particularly wanting the stones (but they were free so...) I put on my Sherlock Holmes hat and investigated. Apparently it's a combination of the fact it's out of patent but mainly because there's a massive glut of unsold lab diamonds in China which are being produced in ever greater quantities and at ever lower cost.

Separately to my experience I also found out about individuals (retail) receiving unsolicited free moissanite rings in the mail alongside fake gemological certificates. Scammers do this to create verified purchase histories, allowing them to leave fake 5-star reviews on your behalf to boost their own store ratings.

Finally: moissanite often comes with a GRA certificate which is very scammy.

Avoid 'reactive' police reforms after Nowak murder

BBC News - Avoid 'reactive' police reforms after Nowak murder, senior black officer warns

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx21wvl7yjyo

Andy George, the head of the National Black Police Association (NPBA) has warned police forces are at risk of making "not well thought-out" and "reactive" changes to anti-racism guidance following the murder of Henry Nowak.

Essentially he is saying we should draw no conclusions from the events surrounding the murder. Remember: it is official policy for the police to treat different races in different ways - the police believing the false accusation of a racial minority accuser was not bad police work - it is official policy to do so

From the BBC:

"There has been particular scrutiny of a National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) anti-racism commitment, which states that ensuring _racial equality_ in policing "does not mean treating everyone 'the same' or being 'colour blind'". "

However this is a lie from the BBC - the NPC commitment explicitly disregards racial equality in favour of racial _equity_ as per the attached image, and text from their policy document as follows

Our commitment to racial equity means

Producing equality of policing outcomes for people from different ethnic groups by responding to individuals and communities according to their specific needs, circumstances and experiences, with understanding that these will be racialised and with the aim of reducing harm.

It does not mean treating everyone 'the same' or being 'colour blind' (racial equality)

How to catch up before Red God

Without re-reading all the preceding books, is there a good way to go over the general content of the books before Red God - something more detailed than just plot outlines. I was thinking of asking AI to summarise them but ... I don't want to lol
