Get Out – A new project possibly in the works

A developer's life isn't easy... I just released a game and immediately rushed into another project XD

The idea here is to compete in various deadly mini-games in a bid for freedom! You're in a prison where death is only temporary; every inmate is condemned to relive life for eternity, and you have to find a way to escape it all!

But it features a charming retro style to keep things friendly and cute.

Launching my first game on Steam

After about four months of hard work on this project—man, it was a wild ride!—I’ve managed to complete a commercial project for the first time in my life!

These months were a huge learning experience for me. I’d recommend that every developer go through this—both the process of developing a first commercial project and participating in a major event like Next Fest (which I took part in right before the launch).

I spent months practically pulling all-nighters working on the project, sleeping and dreaming up ideas for it; it was enough to drive you crazy—doing everything and constantly thinking of ways to improve it. But now, the project is finally finished and ready to play!

If you’d like to show some support—you don’t even have to buy the game right now (though I’d certainly love it if you did, hehe)—simply adding it to your wishlist would mean the world to someone just starting out in the commercial game industry. I truly appreciate any kind of support! I’m also open to feedback on the project, as I’ll likely need to fix any issues that get reported at this stage, hehe.

Here is the link to the project:

I won't be able to reach the goal, but it was a lot of fun!

Before joining Next Fest, I had just over 200 wishlists. I set a goal to try and get 300 by the game's release, but... judging by how things are going, I don't think it's going to happen XD

It's the first time I've ever done this kind of thing in my life, both posting a game on Steam and participating in such a large gaming event, and I have to say, this whole process has been really fun! I'd say it's something few developers get to experience; it's really cool to see your project go public like this. I think it's something everyone should experience at least once in their life.

I don't yet have a large audience or anything like that, so I knew the results wouldn't be the most amazing thing in the world, but for me, this was truly insane! It was a unique experience, and soon I'll be able to say I have a game on Steam. That's a dream come true for me. I'm 21 wishlists away from reaching my goal of 300. If anyone can give me a hand, it would help a lot!

Bring The Rift - My first game on Steam

Hey everyone!

I'm experiencing a mix of extreme anxiety, pent-up coffee, and pure accomplishment. In exactly 4 days, my first game, Bring The Rift, will be officially released on Steam!

Before Steam Next Fest started, I had just over 200 wishlists. I set a realistic (and humble) goal for myself: "If I reach 300 by launch, I'll be incredibly happy." The event was an absurd rollercoaster, and against my own expectations, I'm only 21 wishlists away from hitting that goal!

I know I don't have a huge audience and that the numbers seem small compared to the big studios, but seeing people playing something I created from scratch is an indescribable feeling. It's a unique experience that I think every developer should have at least once in their life.

If you enjoy supporting the indie scene, check out the game's page. Adding it to your Wishlist helps me immensely with the Steam!

First Steam Next Fest as a solo developer

Hey everyone!

I'm really excited (and a little nervous) because this will be my first time participating in an event like Steam Next Fest.

I've been working on my game, Bring The Rift, for quite a while now, and a few days ago I reached a personal milestone of 200 wishlists. It may not sound like much compared to bigger projects, but it meant a lot to me as a solo developer.

My hope is that Next Fest can help me reach 300 wishlists, but more than that, I'd love to hear what people think about the game.

If you have a moment, I'd really appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or ideas. If you decide to try it out during the event, I'd love to know what you enjoyed and what you think could be improved.

Thanks for taking a look, and good luck to everyone else participating in Next Fest!

Bring The Rift - Part Two of the portrait update!

Now each character has 4 portraits: Normal, Victory, Defeat, and Special, which will be used during gameplay!

They can also be used in the custom chapter creator to bring your story to life!

I'm launching the project this month on the 25th. Anyone who can download the demo and give me feedback would be a great help, or even just add it to their wishlist. Thank you!

Right now I really need feedback, I promise I will read and evaluate it all!

I need feedback for my first game on Steam.

Right now, I have one month left before I post my first project on Steam, and I'm kind of lost at this point!

I'm not getting any feedback on what I could improve in the project; very few people give me that feedback, so I'm desperately looking everywhere possible!

I know my game isn't perfect, but after so much testing, I can't think of anything to improve on my own anymore.

Could you help me by downloading and testing the demo and giving me your feedback?

Bring The Rift Demo

Hi everyone!

After weeks and weeks of non-stop work, I’ve finally released the Demo version of my game, Bring The Rift, on Steam!

I’m at a stage where player feedback is absolutely crucial to shape the future of the game. I want to know what feels great, what feels clunky, and what needs to be fixed. Don't hold back—give me your most honest reviews!

You can download it right now on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4631200/Bring_The_Rift/

If you enjoy the demo and want to support a solo/indie dev, adding the game to your Wishlist would mean the world to me and helps immensely with the Steam algorithm!

Thank you so much in advance to anyone who takes the time to play and help me improve the game. I'll be right here in the comments reading everything!

Free to Play Status:

  • [ ] Free to play

Involvement: Right now, I really need feedback because I plan to release the game on June 25th and haven't received much feedback from players. This video is about a feedback feature I implemented today.

Who said developers don't like to hear feedback?

Someone pointed out a very important detail about the gameplay: the game doesn't show you which piece you're currently using, so I decided to add this little Ghost Piece while it's not yet on the board, and wow... I think it turned out charming!

Game Title: Bring The Rift

Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4631200/Bring_The_Rift/

Platform: Windows

Description: Bring the Rift is a competitive color-matching puzzle game that blends frantic strategy with visual novel-style storytelling. Master unique abilities to warp reality, launch attacks against rivals, and unravel the mystery of the portals in story mode, or enjoy local multiplayer.

Free to Play Status: Demo/Key available

Involvement:

I recently posted the demo of my first commercial project on Steam, it's called Bring The Rift, it's a match-3 puzzle game where you have to defeat an opponent in the match, usually an AI or a local player, and it can be played online using Steam Remote Play.

Right now, I'm trying to get as many wishlists and feedback as possible, but honestly, this marketing aspect is an extremely difficult and complicated process for someone like me who has absolutely no experience with it.

I urgently need feedback on the project because, at the moment, I've managed to get a few people to test it, but I don't feel it's enough yet, as there are so few of them. If you can help me, any feedback will be heard and answered. I appreciate any support, including adding the game to your wishlist! I recently reached my first goal of 100 people; I know it's not much, but for someone who's starting out, it's a wonderful thing to see.

Never neglect marketing your project. For someone like me, who has always been focused on programming and knows absolutely nothing about all this, it was really difficult to achieve. I got some tips from some developers about creating social media accounts to promote content and things like that, and man... it's really hard to reach an audience so suddenly.

I recommend that everyone who is developing a project and intends to launch it on Steam start marketing their projects as early as possible to avoid suffering what I'm suffering with my game Bring The Rift, because this is truly a war, lol.
