Is it normal for extending wake windows to be so hard?

6.5 month old

Currently gets very tired and fussy at the two hour mark, can do longer for the last wake window of the day.

Because of this we’re on either 3 or sometimes a 4 nap day, whereas I’ve seen at this age babies should be on 3 transitioning to 2 naps?

Nights he does 8pm - 6/7am but with an average of 3 wakes and will feed back to sleep

My friends babies seem to gradually extend their own wake times, whereas if I try and distract and keep my baby up he’s very unhappy. Therefore I’m wonding if this is even the right thing to do doing?

Should I be forcing a schedule that he’s finding difficult to try to get to 3 naps consistently? Will it get easier? Or is it normal for some babies to still need 4 naps at this age?

(We’re stuck with naps mostly being 30 minutes but longer wake times / less naps so far haven’t seemed to lengthen them)

The Ever King - to continue?

Now I’m only 9% in but debating DNFing

I might be wrong but the plot feels slightly predictable, like there’s a bond pulling them together mentioned already?

Also don’t come for me but his powers have just been explained… and he sings to heal people? That might be an ick in an MMC that I didn’t know I had!

Did anyone else feel like this but love it in the end?

Have you added a mattress to a travel cot?

We borrowed the Joie Kubbie from some friends and found the mattress to be really solid

Baby didn’t sleep well on it but that also might have been due to change of environment

We need to buy our own travel cot and are debating whether to get one that we can add an additional mattress to - has anyone done this and can recommend which one you’ve used?

Are we likely to see first partner series 1 or 2 to buy at retail again?

After they’re gone from Tesco drop this morning does anyone have any info if we’re likely to see first partner series 2 or even series 1 back in shops or online?

I know 3 is coming but I would really like to find 1 & 2 and don’t want to pay the scalpers

Is Trevor in Wales a nice scenic village to stay?

We were looking at booking a stay in Llangollen in August however as its last minute we’re limited on accommodation

We can find better accommodation in nearby Trevor. I just want to check how scenic this is to walk around as a village? We’ll be doing a lot of pram walks.
Alternatively if Llangollen is far superior we could sacrifice the better accommodation to stay there if that’s the opinion 😊

(Context we’re staying as a family with 6 month old baby)

3 nap day question

Trying to get into a 3 nap schedule with my 5.5 month old

What do we do if the first two naps are really short? Presume I can’t do a longer third nap as this will be too close to bed time

For example today we’ve had a 40 minute morning nap and just done a 20 minute lunchtime nap waking at 12:20, tried to rescue it but no success

What should I aim to do for the rest of today? Bedtime is 8pm. Do I have to go back to 4 naps?

Tips on improving sleep (5 month old)

Baby is 5 months (+1 week)

Used to sleep through the night (10 hours) but the last month has been having wakes and split nights. Might have been due to the 4 month regression but looking for ways to improve.

We have consistent time for bed around 8pm

Wake windows are approaching 2 hours in the day. Evening can do approx 3 hours before bed.

I’ve read that we should be extending wake windows to 2-3 hours to achieve 3 nap schedule but some days he struggles to get to 2 hours wake time (yawning, fussy and looks exhausted)

Naps he mostly wakes after 30/40 minutes unless contact napping

Any advice from what I’ve said or looking at the chart?

Rolling and getting legs trapped in crib?

Debating moving my 5 month old into his main crib as he’s getting a bit big for the next to me (I’m in the same room still)

Problem is he’s rolling back to front and can’t get back, and often when I pop him in the crib to play during the day he rolls and put his feet through the bars.

Has anyone has had the worry that they’ll get their legs stuck in the night? Have you found any solutions or has baby just worked it out themselves? He’s not quite mobile enough with the rolling to move himself where he needs to be

Mamas and Papas Lua bedside crib rocking noise - any solutions?

We have the Lua bedside crib

Our baby is getting more active in his sleep but because the crib is designed to rock it makes a very loud noise when baby moves which wakes us up.

Has anyone else encountered this? If so has anyone found a way to stop it making so much noise?

Can anyone recommend a beaker?

I’ve been struggling to get 5 month old to take a bottle (he’s EBF)

I’ve been advised once he starts to wean in a few weeks he might be more likely to take milk from a beaker.

Has anyone had any success with this and if so recommend any specific beaker he might be more likely to take? (I’ve been told maybe free flowing as he’s not likely to realise to suck as he doesn’t do with the bottle?)

Recommendations - cheap but reliable run around?

We’ve just had a 2013 Citroen DS3 written off

We need to replace it but this car won’t be our primary family car or used too frequently therefore we just want to get a run around that will tide us over for a couple of years

- Looking to spend around £2000-£2500
- Small car similar size to DS3, needs to be 5 door

Which makes / models fit this criteria that are know for being reliable as obviously at this age it will have done some miles? Trying to prioritise reliability to limit risk of being hit with maintenance bills

4 month old - how to transition from contact to crib naps?

Baby will not nap in the crib.. at home usually feeds to sleep resulting in contact naps. If I transfer him to crib he wakes. Now at 4 months in I need a bit more freedom

Out and about will nap for 30 mins in the car / pram / carrier.

So when it’s nap time I either feed to sleep, or go for a walk with pram / carrier.

How did people transition from contact naps to crib naps?

Holiday on the east coast near Louth - recommendations of things to do? (Baby friendly)

We’re staying near Louth for our first family holiday. We have a 4 month old. Looking for any recommendations for family days out 😊

Looking for any recommendations of things to do that I might have missed on our initial googling - we’ve thought of beach days, Louth markets and we’ve found a seal sanctuary nearby

Are people buying likes or using bots?

I’ve come across a couple of accounts selling relatively basic items with a ton of likes - but the same number of likes on each item - this one has 33 likes on each. Some of their other items are also obviously SHEIN being resold..

Are people buying likes or using bots to like all of their items?

Did cradle cap treatment make babies hair fall out?

My 17 week old has had cradle cap for a few weeks

We haven’t treated it as it was mild and not causing him any bother

However his hair has started falling out where the cradle cap is. He’s previously had a full head of hair so I’m gutted! 😂

Thinking about trying a treatment shampoo but I’ve heard this can make this hair loss worse?
Has anyone had any experience of treatment either helping or making it worse? If so which treatment did you use?

What to wear for baby swimming?

Taking 4 month old swimming for first time tomorrow and not sure what we’re meant to put them in!

I will do disposable swim nappy first

Then do I just do swimsuit or do I add one of the reusable swim nappies as well? (Like the splash about ones)

It it overkill to have disposable nappy, reusable nappy and swimsuit?

I’m worried as he’s still has very liquid poos so don’t want any accidents!

Bottle Refusal Tips! (3-4 month old)

My 3 month old (approaching 4) has been exclusively breast fed

Just started to try a bottle as I’ll need to leave him for a few hours however he’s firmly rejecting it

He has also rejected a dummy when we’ve tried that previously

We’ve tried dad feeding him when I’m out of the room
Got the lansinoh tests as I hear they’re good
I’ve also tried swapping to bottle mid feed but that didn’t go down well

Please give me any tips from anyone that’s had success!

Struggling to find many compact prams that parent face as well as world face

Need to also be cabin approved as we’ll be flying and don’t want it to be too big at the gate

Any recommendations?
