thoughts on my 16 day kayaking trip?
I have all my own gear. Is taking lessons the best way to explore new rivers as a beginner? It is my first season ww kayaking. I have already taken a handful of beginner/intermediate clinics with my local club but for sure could use more practice. instead of relying on local paddlers i figured taking lessons would be safer (although pricey..). im not expecting to paddle the entire ocoee or upper gualey. im okay with only class 3. the instructor for the ocoee sounded skeptical taking me there. they said based on my experience/progression they will decide where the lesson will be...but i still would like to paddle the ocoee .. are there easier sections of it? class2/3? ive taken 4 rolls classes w/ zoar and will work on rolling at the lessons, it's not reliable yet but im hoping to have a decent one by day 6
