What do you do about the bad breath?

So, I had a Colonoscopy and Endoscopy last year. Wasn't diagnosed with anything. I'm not sure that test for the stomach opening/closing was done.

I can drink some water, drop the cap, lean over to pick it up off the floor and nearly vomit...

I'll be sitting doing nothing and all the sudden just have the worst breath... Sometimes it doesn't seem like my breath but I smell something bad... I don't really think minty gum is doing much.

Hit tree branch, what to do?

Was borrowing a car, hit a tree branch at about 30mph. This car is a lease, maybe 2 years left.

I initially thought it was just the front but it goes down the side as well. They seem to disappear with water, which Google says it’s the clear coat only and can be polished out.

The big problem is, that there is a “rock chip” on the front side. Seems it’s already rusting. I assume it’s related.

What is the best thing to do? DIY? Does anyone have experience with leases and how they handle scratches and rock chips?

Gen3 head gasket, are there any more 1 time use bolts?

2010 Gen3 regular Prius 223k miles.

Was tightening my cam assembly down and one of the bolts “snapped”. Luckily it came out and was only stretched.

This is surprising considering it was only 20ft lbs. I did multiple passes, loading up the valve springs before trying to tighten. This was bolt #3. 1&2 made it fine. Now I’m scared.

I didn’t think it was going to go bad this way. I thought I was gunna screw up the timing or miss a connector and have to take half the car back apart…

TL;DR are there any other 1 time use bolts when doing a head gasket? I bought new head bolts and they worked fine.

Gen3 Prius, idk where this fell from.

2010 Gen3 223k miles. In the process of putting things back together. I was pitting the head back on and heard something fall. This is it. I have no idea where it came from. But it seems it’s something I took apart.

I thought maybe by the engine mount and the AC line but I don’t think so. It’s right about that size of the line.

Maybe someone knows and can tell me before I hopefully figure it out.

Gen 3 Prius, is something supposed to go here? Timing cover.

2010 Regular, Gen3 223k miles. I’m in the process of replacing o rings and such and seen this and am confused. The o ring and then a blank spot? But if you look at the timing cover, it looks like there was a o ring?

I didn’t see anything in the videos online…

So much brittle plastic...

2010 Gen3, 223k miles. I'm trying to do the head gasket. I think when I did the EGR system, I somehow broke the MAF connector. I also somehow started the car with moving the wiring harness around.

Now I'm trying to do the head gasket and I've broken 2 electronic conectors and 2-3 plastic clams. So many of the winged plastic fasteners are so difficult to get out. So many of the tabs just broke as I press on them or won't open when I do. Some connectors were so stuck together. One of the main clamps for the wiring harness, I just barely moved it with my finger and the tab broke off.

I feel like I'm working on a BMW... I hope the connectors stay together when I put it back together. So far I've only done the wiring harness. It was such a pain in the ass...

Started on the coolant and it went all over the place. Going to try and remove the undershield and then jack up the back end of the car to make it level.

Material flex/stress being inconsistent, not sure what to do.

It's copper flatbar, 0.75" x 0.25" 3" long. I'm facing off about 0.005-0.010". Then I profile it down to about 0.140" The "cap" ends up being about 0.098". It seems when I cut off the cap, the middle of the part is thick and the ends are thin. The part finishes at 0.125".

Most of the time, it seems like it's coming from cutting the "cap" off. Sometimes it seems like it's from the 1st op. There is a flatness callout, that is being difficult.

Why on earth is my Zone controller wired like this?

TL;DR should dampers ever be mixed up like this, going to different zones? Should I just rewire it? If I understood right, Z2 damper can be commanded to be closed and open at the same time.

2010~ Texas house. HVAC has been an on and off problem over the years. Right now, the upstairs Z2 is calling, but both dampers are closed. It seems like the downstairs was never actually wired right at all?

It seems there is a orange wire for the power open, but that wire isn't hooked up at the controller. Z2 is calling, but it's somehow closing instead of opening?

On my chart, I started to get a bit confused with the orange wire. Bundle of wires 2, Zone2.

I have a video but would have to make a 2nd post.

Edit: The Yellow "Empty???" under Zone 1 is not empty, it is in fact the Yellow "PO". It's the Orange "Zone 1" that is empty.

Womp Womp, 2010 223k miles.

The head gasket has gone. I do wonder if it's a possibility that it's the EGR cooler, but probably head gasket. Around 1:00 the engine suddenly changes and seems to start putting out more pressure for the coolant. The kit didn't fit the tank the best. Had to push it down.

I didn't get it on camera, but originally there was a lot of rattling when I was revving it like the beginning of the video. Almost like a old diesel.

Texas car. I've owned it for about 10 years. Just about every winter I've grill blocked it. I like to think that helped with the head gasket. Definitely helped with the pathetic HVAC this car has.

Looking for complete parts list of 2010 Gen3 head gasket kit.

I'm trying to watch various videos and feel like I'm getting mixed information.

There is NutzAboutBolts and GasketMasters.

Getting mixed info on the special tool needed to remove the head. Double hex or triple square, 10 or 12.

I don't know if I just want to go full Toyota or get FelPro and mixed stuff. I don't know if I need new head bolts or not. Car is 16 years old, another 16 probably isn't likely.

I'm on amazon and there are so many kits but none of them seem to be complete with gaskets. Some are missing the little Dick and Balls gaskets. Others are missing others. The FelPro kit is missing stuff.

I know my valve cover gaskets for the spark plug tubes are leaking.

Then if I should replace anything else while I'm in there.

Is there one good kit out there or a complete list of all the gasket numbers somewhere? Toyota had these part numbers from NutzAboutBolts, but there is no pictures or diagrams of what they actually are.

Can I switch the damper motor to fully electric?

Have 2 damper motors. 1 is the spring close and keeps getting stuck open. M847D is the one that keeps getting stuck.

I can’t seem to find the fully electric model ATM. But that’s what the other one is and it’s still working fine.

I just want to make sure there isn’t any precautions to take before trying to swap it.

Are there any common coolant leaks on a Gen3?

2010 Gen3, 223k miles. Going to look under the hood for any leaks, soon. I suspect head gasket, but a coolant leak sounds better.

Are there any common spots to look for leaks? Went from about seam of the coolant tank to just above the low line in about a week and 70~ miles.

Why do 3M respirators smell?

I’ve had about 3 and they have a very specific smell to them. Sometimes hurting my lugs? Like it would have been better to not use it.

I bought 3m 9205+ before and they had a massive toxic chemical smell that I returned them.

Is it worth it to be a banker?

Austin Texas area. I’m not sure but it seems like it might be a high turnover job?

I found somewhere saying they train you a couple months, may have been paid as well.

They’re apparently paid hourly and there is OT. But the wage seems hit or miss. I think I’ve seen $18-25hr. Which I guess really isn’t that great but it’s better than retail?

Long timers, how is your skeleton?

I’m just trying to figure out health risks of different jobs right now. Turns out welders tear up their wrists mainly from vibration of grinders? Then also carpel tunnel from nerve stress?

What does road and engine vibrations do to a driver? What about sitting in the same position all day?

There was a post recently and it seemed many drivers drive 8 hours straight before their 30 and then just keep going after that.

What is this trade like?

I’m in Austin Tx, we have Local 286 Plumbers and Pipefitters.

I’m 30m, I’ve been a machinist for almost 10 years and it’s not it. I hate to admit it but it’s taken a toll on my body. I’m wondering what plumbing and pipe fitting is like. I’m not sure how hard it would be to get an apprenticeship. Or worth it.

I know I don’t do the best in the heat…. Lifting 50lbs is probably a safe max these days. I did mow lawns in the 103F+ summers for a couple years.

Can y’all tell me what the conditions are like and how laborious it is?

Gen3, what did you do when your head gasket went?

2010 Gen3, 222.5k miles. I think I'm finally losing coolant. Need to wait 1-2 more weeks to be certain. I'm wondering what people did when the time came. I think I want to do it myself. I'm not going to machine the head.

My problem is that I won't have a 2ndary vehicle, if something happens. It goes bad or takes longer than expected. I would Plan to start Friday night and have it running ASAP.

What is that badass crust seasoning?

I think it was sometime last year, Dominos had some kind of crust seasoning and it was outrageously good. I'm pretty sure we always get something but it's almost like there is nothing.
