Leather ball cricket players

Hey folks,

We are a team of amateur players who play on weekends with leather ball. Earlier we had a team of 14-15 regular players and we have played over 100 matches.

But now we are left with 7-8 players only. Few relocated, few got busy after becoming father and few had other commitments.

So we are looking for few players to revive our team again. We play mostly 1 match on Saturday/Sunday. Matches are usually of 30 overs (we prefer playing morning matches) around Ecity. Chandapura and Sarjapur area.

Do comment/DM if anyone would like to join us.

Key Mapping Feature - Any limitations ?

Hey ,

First of all thanks for adding the key mapping feature ! Now my TV remote is lot more usable.

But 1 thing i noticed is that key mapper isn't able to identify all the 6 dedicated buttons.

Currently i have mapped Netflix, Prime Video and Youtube buttons. But when I am trying to map the "Sony Entertainment Core" , "Disney Hotstar" and "Sony Liv" buttons, it takes me back to unselecting the Prime app.

So is there any limitations on the number of buttons you can map ?

The Quality of House of the Dragons in Hotstar

Has anyone else felt quality issue in HOTD on hotstar ? There are banding in black in dark shots, picture looks a bit grainy specially in dark scenes.

I tested a UHD version from torrent for S3E7 and found the difference in PQ quality. There was no issue of black banding and night scenes were more defined and clear.

The low bitrate (and nakli 4k) of Hotstar is impacting a visually amazing show.

Sony Bravia 7 - Trying to identify a UHD REMUX HDR/Dolby Vision compatibility pattern (not just a "player" issue)

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to identify what appears to be a playback compatibility issue on my Sony Bravia 7 (Google TV), and after comparing a number of UHD REMUXes, I still can't find a consistent pattern.

I'm hoping someone here with a large UHD collection or experience with Sony's internal media framework can help.

---

Setup

Sony Bravia 7

USB HDD (exFAT) connected directly to the TV

Nova Video Player (primary)

Also tested with Kodi and Just Player

---

Behaviour

Some UHD REMUXes trigger Dolby Vision perfectly.

The TV switches to:

Dolby Vision Bright

Dolby Vision Dark

Dolby Vision Vivid

Other UHD REMUXes only play in SDR.

The TV remains in the normal picture modes (Standard/Cinema/Professional), and the image looks obviously washed out, exactly as if HDR metadata wasn't being detected.

---

Movies that work

Movie HDR Format

John Wick: Chapter 4 Dolby Vision Profile 7.6 (BL+EL+RPU)

The Dark Knight Dolby Vision

The Dark Knight Rises Dolby Vision Profile 8.1 (BL+RPU Hybrid)

Interstellar Dolby Vision

Troy Dolby Vision

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Dolby Vision Profile 8.1 (BL+RPU)

---

Movies that don't work

Movie HDR Format

Dune (2021) Dolby Vision Profile 7.6 (BL+EL+RPU)

Dune: Part Two Dolby Vision Profile 7.6 (BL+EL+RPU)

Top Gun: Maverick Dolby Vision Profile 7.6 (BL+EL+RPU)

Batman v Superman Dolby Vision (profile not confirmed yet)

Harry Potter 1–7 Part 1 HDR10

---

Other player behaviour

Nova

Video plays.

TV stays in SDR.

Washed-out image.

Kodi

Dune = Audio only, black screen.

Just Player

Dune = Infinite loading.

OTT Apps

Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video all trigger Dolby Vision correctly.

---

What I've already ruled out

I've compared MediaInfo across these files and couldn't find a consistent explanation based on:

Dolby Vision Profile 7 vs Profile 8

HDR10 vs Dolby Vision

Blu-ray vs Hybrid releases

mkvmerge vs Lavf muxing

Studios (Warner, Paramount, Lionsgate)

Bitrates

TrueHD Atmos vs DTS-HD MA

For example:

John Wick 4 and Top Gun: Maverick are both Dolby Vision Profile 7.6 (BL+EL+RPU) UHD Blu-ray REMUXes, yet John Wick works perfectly while Maverick doesn't.

Similarly:

Harry Potter 1–7 Part 1 (HDR10) fail.

Harry Potter 7 Part 2 (DV Profile 8.1) works.

---

My current theory

At this point, I'm leaning towards this being a compatibility issue with Sony's Android TV hardware decoder (or media framework) for certain UHD Blu-ray HEVC streams, rather than an issue with Nova itself.

Does that sound plausible?

Has anyone with a Sony TV, Shield, Zidoo, Dune HD, or similar setup seen this behaviour?

Would a dedicated player like the NVIDIA Shield Pro or Zidoo be expected to play all of these files correctly?

I'm happy to share full MediaInfo for any of the above titles if that helps identify the pattern.

Sony Bravia remote shortcut buttons stop working when Monet Accessibility is enabled

I’ve been using Monet Launcher Premium on my Sony Bravia 7, and I genuinely love how it has transformed the TV’s home screen. However, I’ve encountered a reproducible issue with the Accessibility Service.

When Monet’s Accessibility Service is enabled, the dedicated shortcut buttons on my Sony remote—such as Netflix and YouTube—stop launching their respective apps.

What I tested:

  1. Monet Accessibility enabled → Netflix and YouTube buttons do nothing.
  2. Monet Accessibility disabled → both buttons immediately work again.
  3. The apps themselves are working and open normally through their Monet tiles.
  4. Re-enabling Monet Accessibility causes the shortcut buttons to stop working again.

I use the Accessibility Service so that pressing Home returns to Monet instead of the stock Google TV launcher, so keeping it disabled isn’t an ideal workaround.

Has anyone else experienced this on a Sony Bravia or another Google TV device?

I’ve also created a GitHub issue here:
https://github.com/Klevico/Monet-Launcher/issues/8

Hopefully the dedicated app-button key events can be allowed to pass through while Monet continues intercepting the Home button.

For those who hate the Android TV UI - Try Money

Like most people I hated the Android TV UI. Its more like a billboard with ads and recommendations with very little option of customization.

I wanted to get an apple TV just for the clean UI of apple TV till apple decided price hike.

Today I came across this amazing App called Monet which is a Google TV launcher. You can set it to be Default launcher and even pressing the home button will launch the Monet home.

The UI is clean, slick and very customizable !

Questions regarding Star 4K

I have seen posts where users are really happy with Star 4K's quality. I wanted to subscribe that.

I currently have a Tata sky HD set top box. The connection is there but I haven't used it in over 2 years.

So i guess first I have to activate it and upgrade the set top box.

My questions are :

  1. Is the upgrade cost 1799 ? How much time do they take for installation?

  2. I couldnt find the Star 4K option in channels list through website or app . How do I subscribe it?

  3. Can I have only 1 Star 4k subscription? Whats the minimum cost i have to pay ?

Funny Story of How I got my Ps5 back in 2021!

Seeing all the recent PS5 purchase posts reminded me of my own experience from 2021, when the PS5 had just launched and the global chip shortage made every restock an event.

I had been a PlayStation fan since the PS3 and was using a PS4 by then. When Sony announced the first few PS5 drops in India, I knew I had to get one. I had got my PS4 for 10k in 2018 which was a second hand unit and sold it back for 12k ! 😅

But every drop (only a couple of thousand units) had a fixed date and time, and the entire stock would disappear in under a minute.

I missed the first drop, so I spent the next few weeks researching stock alerts and bots to improve my chances.

Then Sony announced the next drop.

It was scheduled for 12 PM... which happened to be the exact time my parents were supposed to land at the airport.

Being the completely responsible son that I was... I quietly rescheduled their flight by a couple of hours and confidently told them the airline had changed it. 😅

At exactly noon, I was glued to my laptop.

About 30 seconds later... Order Confirmed!

It genuinely felt like an achievement!

A few hours later, my parents landed safely and eventually found out why I'd "adjusted" their schedule. They couldn't believe their 30-year-old son had reorganized an airport pickup just to buy a gaming console. 😂

Looking back, I don't just remember getting the PS5—I remember the excitement of that whole era when every drop felt like an achievement.

And the photo makes it even more special now. That's Penny, my cat, inspecting the brand-new PS5 on day one. She passed away in January 2024, so this makes the photo even more memorable!❤️❤️

A massively underrated game !

So when I got the rumors that GTA6 would likely be running 30fps, i started playing RDR2 to get accustomed to the FR. Last time I started playing RDR2 , I was coming off Miles Morales and I couldn't enjoy RDR2, it felt sluggish.

But this time I completed the game but I felt another game which was my All time favorite very close to RDR2 in terms of

  1. A west/retro setting

  2. Amazing story

  3. Amazing Protagonist

  4. And a heavy heart while finishing the game.

But this other game is severely underrated due to its launch time issues.

If anyone wondering which game i am talking about, its

DAYS GONE !

Have you ever felt any games which you loved to the core but its not usually rated high by others?

RDR2 gamers here, A query regarding picture on Bravia 7

I feel the game is very dark when playing in Game mode (Standard mode) specially in nights (i understand its night in 1899 and supposed to be dark).

Only issue is sometimes its very difficult to shoot people in dark. For combat i switch to Game mode (FPS) mode which makes it easier to see people but the blacks turn grey.

Due to this I mostly play at night in dark room.

So yeah, do you guys have faced this issue ?

What picture mode do you use to play the game?

If anyone wants the 75" Sony Bravia 9 (Display model)

So I had posted about getting a 75" Bravia 7 in the sub couple of weeks back. During my search i had connected with the Sony Centre HSR. They didnt had the stock for the 75" Bravia 7 but they said they had a Bravia 9 on display that would soon get a display sale pricing.

I was in immediate need for a TV since my old TV had gone so went ahead with the Bravia 7 75" from another centre.

Today I got a call from the Centre saying the display unit has received the sale pricing. The price is 262000 which seemed like a good deal (my Bravia 7 costed me 2.55l ). I wish I had the option available when I was making my decision.

Given the Bravia 7 II and Bravia 9 II have launched at super high pricing, makes sense to get the older Bravia at the mentioned price.

A kitchen leak which resulted in 50% of Home Renovation (and a budget that spiraled 😅)

This renovation wasn't planned.

It all started with a water leakage issue in our kitchen.

When we bought the apartment, the builder had included a promotional Nolte modular kitchen (valued at around ₹2 lakh). It looked decent initially (for 0 cost !) , but years of water leakage had started damaging the wooden cabinets, and repairing parts of it didn't seem worthwhile.

Our original plan was simple:
Renovate the kitchen with a budget of around ₹2.5–3 lakh and call it a day.

But then we thought...

"If we're already creating dust, breaking walls and calling carpenters, why not get everything done at once?"

And that's exactly what happened.

Kitchen

The kitchen became the biggest transformation:

  • Complete modular kitchen overhaul.
  • Replaced the original white cabinetry with glossy charcoal acrylic cabinets.
  • Added a dedicated tall unit for the oven and small appliances.
  • Created a separate unit to accommodate a dishwasher.
  • Replaced the granite with white quartz (including the breakfast counter).
  • Changed the breakfast counter laminate from black to a warm wooden finish.
  • Added Moroccan-pattern backsplash tiles.
  • Installed under-cabinet lighting.
  • Upgraded to a Samsung Family Hub side-by-side refrigerator.

Living Room

Once the kitchen was done, we focused on the living room.

So we:

  • Added a new grey feature wall.
  • Changed the wallpaper.
  • Replaced our old beige sofa-cum-bed with a charcoal recliner sofa.
  • Refreshed the space while keeping the original TV unit and bar layout.

Master Bedroom

The bedroom received a small refresh instead of a complete redesign:

  • Added decorative rafters.
  • Replaced the wallpaper with a custom emerald green feature wall and arched mural.

Balcony

This space became much more functional:

  • Fully enclosed the balcony.
  • Added decorative rafters.
  • Built a dedicated concealed unit for our cats' litter box.
  • Added wooden floor tiles

Bathrooms

We modernized main bathroom by:

  • Replacing the vanity with circular LED mirrors featuring hidden storage.
  • Replacing the shower wall with larger-format tiles.
  • Upgrading the flooring from 2×2 ft tiles to larger 4×4 ft tiles for a cleaner look.

Pooja Room

We just updated the wallpaper from rustic bricks to calm Buddha wallpaper.

We started with a ₹2.5–3 lakh kitchen renovation and went over 4 times the budget!

By the time we finished saying "Since we're already renovating...", it had turned into a near whole-home makeover!

Although doing everything together meant matching materials, consistent colours, and avoiding another round of dust and disruption a year later.

Sharing my experience of switching to Sony Bravia 7 Mini LED from LG CX OLED

Sharing my experience with Bravia 7. Got the 75" one recently after 6 years with 55" LG CX. I was getting the 65" Bravia 8 and 75" Bravia 7 at similar price but then went ahead with the bigger size since the difference would be massive coming from 55".

Image 1 and 2 : Watching Bad Boys 3 on sony entertainment core app with purestream on in a dark room. I could notice the black bar appearing Grey in the whole movie which was disappointing.

Image 3 and 4 : Watching world cup in dark room. The PQ was amazing for a 1080p streaming signal with low bit rate. The Sony processor did a great job in cleaning the image quality (checked the settings from chatGPT).

Image 5 : A bollywood movie on Netflix 4K. Here in picture u might notice blooming in the dark scene in dark room but I didn't notice it while watching tbh. I was impressed by the contrast and dark blacks.

Image 6: same movie scene in day time. In netflix app i didn't see the issue of black bars appearing Grey like sony core app. Tbh I felt it completely black OLED like.

Image 7 : Another scene from same movie but this time the lights were on in kitchen n you can see the reflection on my TV.

After living with OLED for 6 years, I expected the transition to LCD to bother me more than it has. The increase in screen size, brightness, and Sony's image processing have more than made up for the compromises.

So overall I am pretty happy with the TV. The black bar issue seems to be of the Sony app. Will try an Imax format later. I haven't the same issue in other apps like Netflix, prime, Disney. The highlight of the TV is how good it handles the low bitrate low resolution signal.

I was waiting for RGB TVs but they are almost 1.5x the price which would have been way out of budget.

I have paired it with Sony theatre bar6 as I didnt have much budget left and it sounds amazing too.

My only complain would be the poor reflection handling of the TV (viewing angles degrade a bit but most of viewing angle is straight only)
