If anyone wants the 75" Sony Bravia 9 (Display model)

So I had posted about getting a 75" Bravia 7 in the sub couple of weeks back. During my search i had connected with the Sony Centre HSR. They didnt had the stock for the 75" Bravia 7 but they said they had a Bravia 9 on display that would soon get a display sale pricing.

I was in immediate need for a TV since my old TV had gone so went ahead with the Bravia 7 75" from another centre.

Today I got a call from the Centre saying the display unit has received the sale pricing. The price is 262000 which seemed like a good deal (my Bravia 7 costed me 2.55l ). I wish I had the option available when I was making my decision.

Given the Bravia 7 II and Bravia 9 II have launched at super high pricing, makes sense to get the older Bravia at the mentioned price.

A kitchen leak which resulted in 50% of Home Renovation (and a budget that spiraled 😅)

This renovation wasn't planned.

It all started with a water leakage issue in our kitchen.

When we bought the apartment, the builder had included a promotional Nolte modular kitchen (valued at around ₹2 lakh). It looked decent initially (for 0 cost !) , but years of water leakage had started damaging the wooden cabinets, and repairing parts of it didn't seem worthwhile.

Our original plan was simple:
Renovate the kitchen with a budget of around ₹2.5–3 lakh and call it a day.

But then we thought...

"If we're already creating dust, breaking walls and calling carpenters, why not get everything done at once?"

And that's exactly what happened.

Kitchen

The kitchen became the biggest transformation:

  • Complete modular kitchen overhaul.
  • Replaced the original white cabinetry with glossy charcoal acrylic cabinets.
  • Added a dedicated tall unit for the oven and small appliances.
  • Created a separate unit to accommodate a dishwasher.
  • Replaced the granite with white quartz (including the breakfast counter).
  • Changed the breakfast counter laminate from black to a warm wooden finish.
  • Added Moroccan-pattern backsplash tiles.
  • Installed under-cabinet lighting.
  • Upgraded to a Samsung Family Hub side-by-side refrigerator.

Living Room

Once the kitchen was done, we focused on the living room.

So we:

  • Added a new grey feature wall.
  • Changed the wallpaper.
  • Replaced our old beige sofa-cum-bed with a charcoal recliner sofa.
  • Refreshed the space while keeping the original TV unit and bar layout.

Master Bedroom

The bedroom received a small refresh instead of a complete redesign:

  • Added decorative rafters.
  • Replaced the wallpaper with a custom emerald green feature wall and arched mural.

Balcony

This space became much more functional:

  • Fully enclosed the balcony.
  • Added decorative rafters.
  • Built a dedicated concealed unit for our cats' litter box.
  • Added wooden floor tiles

Bathrooms

We modernized main bathroom by:

  • Replacing the vanity with circular LED mirrors featuring hidden storage.
  • Replacing the shower wall with larger-format tiles.
  • Upgrading the flooring from 2×2 ft tiles to larger 4×4 ft tiles for a cleaner look.

Pooja Room

We just updated the wallpaper from rustic bricks to calm Buddha wallpaper.

We started with a ₹2.5–3 lakh kitchen renovation and went over 4 times the budget!

By the time we finished saying "Since we're already renovating...", it had turned into a near whole-home makeover!

Although doing everything together meant matching materials, consistent colours, and avoiding another round of dust and disruption a year later.

Sharing my experience of switching to Sony Bravia 7 Mini LED from LG CX OLED

Sharing my experience with Bravia 7. Got the 75" one recently after 6 years with 55" LG CX. I was getting the 65" Bravia 8 and 75" Bravia 7 at similar price but then went ahead with the bigger size since the difference would be massive coming from 55".

Image 1 and 2 : Watching Bad Boys 3 on sony entertainment core app with purestream on in a dark room. I could notice the black bar appearing Grey in the whole movie which was disappointing.

Image 3 and 4 : Watching world cup in dark room. The PQ was amazing for a 1080p streaming signal with low bit rate. The Sony processor did a great job in cleaning the image quality (checked the settings from chatGPT).

Image 5 : A bollywood movie on Netflix 4K. Here in picture u might notice blooming in the dark scene in dark room but I didn't notice it while watching tbh. I was impressed by the contrast and dark blacks.

Image 6: same movie scene in day time. In netflix app i didn't see the issue of black bars appearing Grey like sony core app. Tbh I felt it completely black OLED like.

Image 7 : Another scene from same movie but this time the lights were on in kitchen n you can see the reflection on my TV.

After living with OLED for 6 years, I expected the transition to LCD to bother me more than it has. The increase in screen size, brightness, and Sony's image processing have more than made up for the compromises.

So overall I am pretty happy with the TV. The black bar issue seems to be of the Sony app. Will try an Imax format later. I haven't the same issue in other apps like Netflix, prime, Disney. The highlight of the TV is how good it handles the low bitrate low resolution signal.

I was waiting for RGB TVs but they are almost 1.5x the price which would have been way out of budget.

I have paired it with Sony theatre bar6 as I didnt have much budget left and it sounds amazing too.

My only complain would be the poor reflection handling of the TV (viewing angles degrade a bit but most of viewing angle is straight only)

The Bravia Theatre Bar 6 is great but the thing that annoys me ....

is the lack of different sound modes (like cinema, music, sports). I have to go keep changing settings manually. I checked the bravia connect app too.

Also how do you change the music equaliser settings? Or this soundar just let's changing the volume, bass, field only?

My LG CX has stopped working and now I need a new one probably tomorrow.

So my 55" LG CX is now taking its final breath and shutting down after 20 mins of run after screen flickering. I might need a TV as soon as tomorrow.

Currently i am looking at

  1. Sony Bravia 7 (70% sure)

  2. Samsung R95H or R85H (20% surety only if I get it within budget)

  3. Samsung S95H or S90H (10 % surety and budget).

My viewing pattern is majorly

  1. OTT content (60%)

  2. Sports (25%) sometimes low bitrate

  3. PS5 gaming (15%)

What would you suggest.
