Possible Tiffany Necklace at County Fair?
Hello all! I have a bit of a story. I purchased this piece from an indigenous jeweler in my area at a county fair who also sells other found jewelry goodies. He didn’t say it was Tiffany at all. Just showed me it was stamped 925, the beads are strung on a sterling chain, and the jump rings are soldered together. I was like ok awesome, looks like a decent sterling piece.
I didnt get home for a bit, and as I started to clean it, I noticed a marking on the lobster clasp itself. It very clearly ended it ANY & CO.
Here’s my dilemma. I’ve never seen this clasp used on a Tiffany piece before, and it has no additional tag. In searching online, I know there used to be tag-less designs, but I’m more inclined to believe this is just a good fake.
Truth be told, I don’t care as it’s sterling silver, and that was my main worry. But if anyone has any info on this piece, or archival resources…literally anything, help a girl out!
To add, I did take this to Tiffany since drafting this post, and although they cannot authenticate, the worker was actually pretty optimistic about it. I would send it for a cleaning and see if they reject it, but if they don’t all my beautiful patina will be gone 😪
