Does Raise your Level in Playtomic do anything?

Like the title says-- does this even do anything at all?

I have over 300 games in playtomic. My level is still not correct. I usually get a .03 adjustment if I win. But my level (relative to my city) is very much lower than it should be. I click this almost every day. Does this even do anything at all?

Fck afd campaign ads

Every time I pass an afd campaign ads (always put at the top of a lamp post ofc), it makes me so angry. It's illegal to rip these down, right? Does anyone feel the same way or have a secret strategy for removing these idiots from the streets?

Edit: I want to make this 100% clear: I am not going to do anything illegal and I am not advocating for anyone to do anything illegal. My post is just frustrating vent about seeing these idiots' campaign posters. I will absolutely be voting against afd in the coming vote.

Edit 2: doing nothing is a form of complicity. I know the ads will be gone soon but the party will not. If we do nothing, we are helping fascists rise to power.

Poetry Critique Monthly Group

I have been searching for a solid group of poets to meet once a month or so. The idea is classic:

- depending on the month: bring a poem or we start with a prompt
- then we go around the table and critique each others work

I have been writing poetry for twenty years or so and I've been published a few times. but I've been missing that regular poetry critique and interaction with other poets.

please comment or DM me if you are interested. Thx!

You Are Not Your Playtomic Level

Recently I've just had bad energy on the court when playing with some Playtomic people. Yesterday, a new guy (50+) games, who labeled himself as new, asked us after the match if his level was accurate (2.6). My response was: man, did you have fun in the match? did we have a challenging match? did we play well even though we lost? (all questions were answered yes). But a different guy was telling him his score was mostly accurate etc.

I've also had a few female padel playing friends in the past few weeks tell me how serious and intense guys were taking the games and then not shaking hands afterwards or just attacking her because they thought a woman was the weak link (she's not-- she's very good).

Just bad energy experiences. I was just wondering: how many of you feel tied to your Playtomic score? and why? and how can we change that?

Edit: Location is Berlin, DE (just an fyi for reference. I know many countries don't use playtomic at all)

Love is Unreasonable

it is unreasonable for me to think with my heart
so raw and bleeding and undefined and ailing
and I'm balling like a baby when you haven’t changed
a lick about the love you can give me and the time
you can offer and the boundaries of your marriage
and our relationship but still I sit typing thoughts
onto the page in an attempt to self-therapize
by sorting through a tangled mess of desire
that is mixed with a warped perspective on love
that is based on parents and hollywood and disney
and fear and immaturity and jealousy and hope
and I ask myself what has changed in the last day
to which I respond nothing has changed except
I am crying off and on today and feeling more
deeply this hierarchical divide in our open relationship
and then I remember this morning when we woke
next to each other and you told me you feel
like you are afraid you are holding me back
from being happy but being happy has nothing
to do with love and love has nothing to do with me
never meeting your family and everything
to do with the cessation of thinking and worrying
and wondering whether I can live without you
and whether I can even allow my own bloody heart
to pump and to allow myself for once to be in tune
with the rhythm and the beat and to fold
up my heart like an origami crane that I now realize
I should have slipped into the pocket of your jeans
before you went off to work this morning

realizing maybe I'm the sidepiece

This morning was tough. I've been with my partner for two years. She's been married to a guy for fourteen. We are on the kinky/bdsm side. We're totally in love. But I am now realizing that maybe I am just the side piece. What is hard for me? The fact that I will never get to spend summer's at her family's lake house, that I'll never get to meet her brothers/parents, nor attend any milestone/support events with her (like if her her parent dies and has a funeral I won't be there), that I am not a priority when she is planning her holidays.

We had some intense conversations last night and this morning. Basically she says: "here's what I can offer-- what we have now, but I don't really want it to change. my husband is my primary."

Part of me really just enjoys the space and time I have (kind of like a grandparent-- I get the kids for the day and then send them home to the parents, or in her case, to her husband) to do all my creative hobbies (poet/coder/etc.).

Part of me thinks I should just find a primary partner myself. But I really don't want to go back to dating.

I suppose I'm just wanting responses from people who have had the same or similar experiences.

Edit: you all can keep commenting and hating on me if you want but I've gotten what I needed from the kinder people in the comments that asked me questions and shared their stories and experiences and really showed me a perspective I needed to see. Thank you to those humans.

Edit #2: I think a lot of people are missing the point a bit of my OP. Maybe I am delusional and wrote it wrong as well. But today I feel like I am less concerned that I am not the primary partner and more concerned about not meeting my partner's family/experiences events/going to the lakehouse with her, etc. There are a few people in the threads that shared their experience with this and I really appreciate it.

Network

diary of a programmer 115

I am trying to leverage my network this morning
while sitting in the fucking chair by the window
in order to find some work that I can actually live
with while time is now constantly being augmented
by claude and the clock’s hands don’t even look
analog anymore as if we’ve forgotten and severed
the umbilical connection to the earth to the mother
which is all but making managers drive drive drive
their teams to produce at insane speeds shipping
now almost every day which just exhumes echoes
of children working in factories in London town
during the industrial revolution and of course
those small fingers are now being sewn on
to the hands of claude and all its friends
in some sort of Frankensteinian megalomaniacal
boring dystopian drama that would certainly get
ninety percent critical approval on rotten tomatoes
and ten percent audience approval which is to say
ratioed so I try to put on the balancing lenses
of a damn teacher who was burned out and who is now
burned out on tech and who just wants to stuff
his own mouth with grass and poetry and play
the damn fiddle all day and night and fuck
the system but who has got to make money somehow

Help me identify the accordion kind?

I just got this accordion from someone used but I have no clue what kind it is. As far as I can see there is no label anywhere.

I'm super excited to learn Cajun accordion. I was just really really curious about the history or whatever of this accordion.

Any help is super appreciated! Thank you.

Edit: I'm not looking for money value. I bought it to play. So don't give me guff for thinking I want to hock it or something. I really just want to know anything about it.

need feedback and critique on my new app: internetree

One tree, kept alive by the whole internet. If everyone stops tending it, it dies permanently. Tear it apart?

There's exactly one tree and everyone on the internet shares it. Tap to water it. Your watering can refills slowly, so no one can keep it alive alone — it needs strangers. Neglected long enough, it wilts and dies for good: gravestone, story ("Gen 3, lived 26 days, kept by 412 strangers"), and a new sapling starts the next generation.

Things I'm unsure about and want critique on:

- You never see others live — just traces (a keeper count, motes of light, a "while you were away" recap). Does that feel communal or single-player?

- No health bar, no timer. The tree just visibly droops as it declines. Atmospheric or annoying?

- It's slow on purpose — death takes days of collective neglect. Too slow to bother checking back?

Free, no accounts, no ads, works on phones: https://internetree.vercel.app/

Be brutal. If it's already dead when you arrive, that's kind of the point.
