MCAS! For being nice!

I had found a lot of help in posts but the mods were taking them down so fast. You had to be online all the time to read them before they were deleted.

I made this comment in hopes of supporting my fellow redditors and people who got their posts deleted who were just trying to help.

Perma ban. My first!

Thanks to some recent posters

The posts keep getting taken down by moderators but if I'm able to see them fast enough I get some good advice.....

Thanks to everyone who shares. However, briefly it may exist in the universe!

Reddit fixed it!!!

I had posted a question here and in other sewing groups about my tension issues.

My zigzag stitch did not work at all and my straight stitch only had okay tension. If I positioned the needle to either side. It was awful in the middle position. There were many many loops underneath the fabric.

I tried to adjust the tension myself and also took it into the local shop where they did a bunch of tests including taking the burrs off my bobbin case. This didn't fix it and the minimum cost per service was $199 just to check it out.

The fix:

The burrs on my strike/needle plate were actually the culprit.

I had hit it a couple of times with a bent needle and there were burrs above and below the plate which I was able to sand off with my handy Dr Scholl's callus remover.

Smooth thread. Smooth feet.

This calls for a nice treat. Maybe some fabric! I saved hundreds! 🤣

Trainnnnnnszsz

I love trains. And I normally don't mind waiting for them because I like to watch them and I like to hear them.

But I sat and watched this train for probably a full minute seeing that it was all the same kind of oil cars. Then I picked up my phone just to record it and I'll save you the effort this video is 2 minutes and 37 seconds long. So probably a full 4 minutes of 100% oil cars.

Not trying to be hysterical, but is this new??

Technically this intersection is north of us in Marysville by about a mile. This train will have come through Everett. Please don't flame me. We are all neighbors. Don't dox the unrelated caddy.

Mobile home realtor reviews

Hey everybody, I want to speak with a realtor about purchasing a manufactured home, likely in Snohomish county.

I'm having a heck of a time getting anyone to call me back. Is the market really that hot?

I am pre-qualified. Have good credit. Have a down payment, a reasonable payment budget and flexibility in location.

I would love to hear recommendations of people who will speak with someone about a manufactured home if I'm not over 55 years old and that dont consider it a waste of their time.

Does that sound defensive? well, let me tell you about the last couple of weeks in my experience..... They can't all be like this. Someone out there wants to sell a house.

Advice?

Finally!

I finally figured it out!

A lot of you may know this, but my X3 kept recording only one 19-minute clip and then shutting off.

I finally found a help forum where it said that you have to use the shutter on the camera and not use the app to start recording and if you use the shutter on the camera it will record until it runs out of battery or runs out of storage space.

I couldn't get it to work at first, but then after much swearing and huffing and puffing on the side of the road it magically worked and I have three back-to-back clips from the rest of this ride!

You may show your pleasure and appreciation now.

Kittens!!! Fosters needed

Hey all, it's kitten season! Please consider helping!

The Noah center in Stanwood just put out a call for 60 kittens that are coming in tonight that need foster homes.

There are 15 different litters with all types of ages and needs.

There are some kittens that only need a couple of weeks in Foster and there are also some litters with Mom where she is nursing and doing a lot of the work.

I am not an official spokesperson for NOAH but I can tell you that they are awesome to work with very well organized and good with communication.

When I pick up my Foster litters they start me out with food and wet food and litter supplies. They also have other items you might need if you're not able to purchase them yourself.

Other ways to help would be donations of food or litter or money. Blankets suitable for bedding are also welcome.

It's such an awesome feeling to take in these small animals that need love and a warm place to grow safely and see them develop their little personalities and get ready for an awesome adventure in their new forever home.

It's also the best time to have a kitten because if they're between 4 weeks and 8 weeks they are not yet at the crazy teenager wreck everything stage.

Do it!

Trapper Keeper!

I got some vinyl remnants and have been playing around with it.

I make bags and pencil cases for the Boys& Girls club and I got a donation of 41 different how to draw books.

So I ordered a bunch of pencils and colored pencils to donate along with the books so the kids can learn to draw and defeat A I

This is done without a formal pattern with 3 mm poly foam (which I won't be using again. It works great but it's too expensive).

I used spray fabric glue to tack quilting cotton onto the poly foam and then put in two transparent vinyl zipper pockets, one slip pocket for books or paper and a row of pencil pockets.

I sewed the vinyl cover on in one piece with separate seams to allow room at the hinges. Then I used a pre-folded bias tape to cover the raw edges.

The closure is small velcro pieces hand sewn for the final step.

Please don't laugh at my crazy bias scene sewing technique. I go way too fast and I need to slow down and be careful and watch a tutorial.

But overall it's very sturdy. It's waterproof and uses a lot of scraps up. I think the kids will like it.

Gratuitous stray cat included for flair and because he likes to be involved. I call him Sweet Boy.

Feedback welcome!

Hey folks, it doesn't sound like it's new but I wanted to post about a free food pantry, just south of Forest Park on dogwood drive.

Respect to the View Ridge Community Church for using scripture to help people and bring them together.

Just south of Mukilteo boulevard and dogwood drive near the brown bear car wash.

Hello!

I sew for fun and I make bags and purses and backpacks. The quality of my work has really improved and I know everyone says I should sell them but I do not care to begin that process for many reasons.

Right now I donate the bags to the Boys and Girls club and local shelters, etc. I use donated and salvage material, but also buy off FB and there are lots of supplies and notions. It's a lot of $$.

If I set up a non profit org, could I write off the $ spent on materials?

Or is this. "business" that just makes no money and counts as a loss every year on my 1040?

Thanks for any advice!

I've been making bags and other items from fabric and denim scraps for a while now and I recently bought a few vinyl pieces.

Holy cow. This is fun!

I already had the larger gauge needles from working with heavy denim layers so it all seems to be going very easily.

Here are my first attempts at totes and crossbody bags. I welcome any feedback or tips on using lightweight vinyl on a regular basic machine.

Thanks!
