Which local small business deserves more appreciation?

I run Everett Community and I'm building out the business side of our Shop Local page. It's got a solid list of local nonprofits, but I've been slow to give small businesses the same showcase.

So what small business in Everett deserves real credit? Not just "it's fine" but really treats people well, has great quality, goes above and beyond, whatever it is for you. Tell me the business and why?

I'll be adding them to the Shop Local page over the next few weeks.

Just saw a coyote carrying a black cat away near Rucker & 35th

My deepest condolences, but I just saw a coyote (one of the smaller ones), carrying a medium/large sized black cat across Rucker on 34/35th. It seemed like it was from the same side of Rucker that the post office is on. I chased it down with my car but the cat was clearly deceased, unfortunately. I'm really sorry and I hope that if this was your cat you can get some closure.

BE1100 V2 with newest firmware node shows offline or no clients connected but still works

I don't know how long happening but I've noticed that the Ethernet connected node will show zero clients connected or offline but will still work fine.

I manually added the newest firmware last night, rebooted, reinstalled the app - all the basic troubleshooting steps.

Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Such a patient baby

There's usually 2 or 3 seals hanging out near the dry boat storage because there's a fish cleaning station and they know they'll get some scraps. Exactly like my cat whenever I make a move to the kitchen

Widespread and systematic factual errors in Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD)

Looks like they are confirming anyone with a pair of eyes and a brain could have told you. Low barrier doesn't work, harm reduction doesn't work.

These folks on the street need treatment and that's it.

Does anyone have any updates on some of these vacant/empty spots around town?

  • The old Fred Meyer or Walmart on Evergreen/Hwy 99
  • The mall (Everett Mall)
  • Days Inn by the mall: Are they still turning it into a homeless shelter?
  • That empty lot that's been sitting across from Avacados Mexican restaurant and John L Scott (used to be the old car lot) .. for years!

Curious if anyone's heard anything about what's going on or if they're just going to sit empty forever lol. Thanks!

Bunch of police cars last night but no one's talking 😂

Lots of us heard the sirens, but no one seems to know what happened. I read there were guns drawn but post has since been deleted. Anyone care to share with the class? 🤔🧐🕵️‍♀️

My Ebike is Stolen.

I’ve already filled out an online police report, but I wanted to come onto reddit as the more eyes and help the better. I’m praying and keeping faith I’ll get it back. Around late night 8/5/2026, someone stole my ebike from underneath our stairs. I’ll start by saying I could’ve and I will do better to make sure to lock my ebike up better no matter what.

I’m normally very vigilant with locking my ebike every time I come home. On 8/5/26 it was 80 degrees and I gotta squat for a long time to lock up my ebike. So as I was moving my bike underneath the stairs (It’s very heavy.) I was already feeling extremely lightheaded and when I came up stairs to get my backpack that has my bike locks, and it then, that the lightheadedness turned into a serious headache.

I took some Advil, took a nap, and decided to lock up my bike when it’s cooler and a bit later in the afternoon when my mom got home from work. Unfortunately I was super out of it, tired from the heat and not feeling good from the headache that I slept through the day and woke up in the afternoon the next day. Around 5pm when my mom got home from work she came upstairs extremely concerned because she didn’t see my bike underneath the staircase and when I had asked if she saw it this morning she said that she noticed my little sisters bikes was leaned over more than usual but that she didn’t get to look too long; since her ride was already there ready to pick her up, and she had to hurry to work.

I feel so tired. I have already been through so much these past years so I don't know if I have enough energy or will to even cry about it. I feel just feel a bit empty, but I’m trying to hold onto faith. I know it can happen anywhere, but living in a tucked away peaceful area completely away from casino road, close along airport road. It still felt jarring to wake up finding out your bike was stolen.

For more information it’s a very noticeable ebike. A long rear tail cargo Lectric ebike in baby blue from Lectric eBike. It’s a Lectric Xpedition 2.0 bike. It has a tracker on the bottom connected to find my phone on my iphone, but unfortunately the battery is low and I’m having issues getting a reading on its location. It’s far away that I can’t play any sound in the tracker. The tracker model is from Topmade.

Here are also some pictures. (The grocery boxes are inside my house. Along with the helmets & my backpack, so the rear part was empty as of recent.)

Edit: For the area context I live on 18th st. by Airport Road. (A few blocks away from Evergreen way.)

Reminder that ballots are due tomorrow

As I normally do even after promising I'll get them in early this year, I'll be walking my ballot up to the drop box.

Just a reminder to get out and vote

Rick Larsen sanitizes the Ferndale ICE facility by parroting their talking points. Response from his progressive challenger Tomas

Rick caved to pressure from Tomas Scheel's campaign to inspect the Ferndale facility. They have been talking about this for months. Community activists and orgs have been talking about this for over a year. Rick sanitized and downplayed what ICE is doing by just talking about procedure and their policies.

Rick totally missed the point. He said nothing about the condition of the detainees inside. These are parents of American citizens.

Tomas's mother is from Ecuador. His family has a mixed immigration status. This fight against the abuse of our constitutional rights by ICE and assault on our families is not optional to Tomas.

Ballots are due tomorrow - Tuesday at 8pm. The contrast between Rick and Tomas has never been more clear.

If your ballot has not arrived by now, head to the county courthouse Assessor’s office near downtown Bham. You can get your ballot reprinted. You can also register to vote and recieve your same ballot at the same time.
