Is this what they call daddy issues?
Atp I genuinely don't know. I have a terrible relationship with my dad. Calling him dad doesn't sit right tho he is my biological dad he never really behaved like one. Maybe today's one of my low energy days as I never really post things venting in reddit but....I think it's about time I get it addressed by people than bots😭😭
My classmates used to joke about how I have daddy issues and I did look it up as I didn't really know what it exactly meant, which lead into me talking to gemini about stuff I never really said out to people much. So here we go...
My dad never really liked me is what I'd think. He and my mom don't get along well (it was an arrange marriage) and they'd go FOREVER without talking because of my dad's lack of communication skills. Instead of talking the thing out my dad inclines over violence and talking shit about my mom and her father. I don't really remember a time I felt relaxed or comfortable with my dad around. He has hit me many times in the past and used words that one wouldn't really tell their daughter. Saying stuffs like
"Be glad that you're a girl if you were a guy you'd be useless".... "don't tell anyone you're my daughter" (I got a B in math and he disowned. It's 3rd grade btw)
However when it comes to my sister (she's elder) he never has once laid a finger on her nor has used words that'd hurt. Even when he and mom had a fight it almost never meddled with my sister's social life. He'd still go with mom to drop her off at her stop so she could go to college and all that. But when it comes to me he behaves as if he wants me to beg.
He doesn't talk with us (me, my mom, and my sister) but he expects obedience.
We also suspect that he's probably having affairs as we have noticed him coming home at odd hours and shit. Mind you he doesn't really work. We have a business that's under his name but runs almost entirely because of my mom's hardwork.
My mom isn't willing to leave that man because she doesn't want to "burden" her parents.
I was recently venting about this to gemini and it pointed out that this might follow me into my adulthood relationships, as it said I didn't really experience "love" and that my mind takes this for normalcy. And looking back I did like a guy (we didn't date) who was almost always keeping me on my toes. As if my brain was short circuted I'd freeze and wouldn't be able to process what had happened.
And I do know I shouldn't let this consume my mental space as I have to focus on academics, some days like today I'm drained.
I don't know.
I know this is petty but I'm kinda jealous of people with good dads..even my maternal grandpa he's awesome my mom was so lucky idk maybe that's why God nerfed my mom's life with her husband.
Sometimes I hate how I look when I smile. I resemble him. I hate how much I resemble him. Tho I am really glad that I've a great mom (she has her own issues but that's completely understandable as she had put up with a waste of a man like my dad for decades)
