Is it dumb to try LA for a month?

I’m 26 & my fiancé is 29 and we are saving to buy a home but don’t know where we want to live. Realistically I don’t see us being able to afford Los Angeles on a regular basis, so it’s not an option for our first home. However, I have built up quite a savings and would love take a month out of my time and stay at a hotel, air bnb, or rental and work. I’m a server/bartender so I would still want to work to get the social interaction with people and make some money while learning about the area and making connections. I was thinking about spending $3-4k for a month long stay, and using the money earned to replenish that back into my savings. I know I wouldn’t earn all of it back, but I’m really not concerned because I’d be spending a month in LA. My job is flexible with leaves & my fiancé works from home and can work anywhere. His job covers our bills back home so I am not worried about that either.

Is this insane to do? Is it difficult to I have always dreamed of living in LA & visited last year and I loved it. l feel like this is a way to get a taste of it without fully committing financially. Is it difficult to get a serving job in LA? I am not leaning to one area over another.

Edit: I wanna add that I do have a job currently that can be transferred back and forth. The company is flexible with transfers and I have been with the company for a while in good standing. If I am unable to find work, this is an option.

edit: I now realize my post implied I wanted to spend $3-4k for my entire trip, which is not what I meant. I specifically mean $3-4k on accommodations like hotels or airbnb’s!! Also, I am okay with enjoying my time and not working! I literally said I want to work because I enjoy the job. If it’s not an option, that is okay!!

one more thing !! i just want all of you think about this. if you do not like cold & have ever experienced ohio or any state with snow or cold weather, you could possibly understand why i want to spend a month away from ohio during the winter months 😅

Issue with store owner at guest level

my family went out to texas roadhouse and had several issues w staff being rude, so we asked to talk to management and the manager was kind. she then had the store owner talk to us and not only was he horrible to our party, but the way he talked to the other manager, server and food runner was horrendous. i wanted to complain about him to higher up, but my online complains seem to just go to him. nobody should be talked to the way he talked to them. how can i complain to this guys boss??

Tried Condado’s house hot sauce & it was really good!! Bought a bottle!

it was really good!! $12 wasn’t too bad either, more than grocery store sauces but decent for locally made :)

Is Ohio Clean Leaf still around much?

I haven’t thought about it in a long time and started to recently wonder. I can’t find any dispensaries near me that still have it. I looked around Cincinnati up through Dayton and I didn’t see any. I may have missed a few dispensaries but it used to be everywhere a few years ago!! I love their flower & I would love to buy some again.

[OH] Can I put my rent in escrow over goose poop??

I feel like I sound insane, but there is a pond in the apartment complex so geese are everywhere and there is goose shit EVERYWHERE. i mean about every 2-3 inches all over the sidewalks, residential walkways & parking lot. you cant walk without looking down at the ground to avoid it, kids can’t play in the grass, tires smash and track it all over the parking lot & there have been countless times where myself and neighbors have ruined shoes from stepping in it bc it’s EVERYWHERE. I contacted the leasing office a few months ago regarding this issue, and they said the groundskeepers take care of it. I’ve lived in this complex for 4 years and have never seen the goose shit removed except for by rain. Is this reason enough to hold rent in escrow?? I work during business hours so I haven’t called to ask any questions yet, but will be soon. I just wanted to ask here because I am to a point where I want to move over it, but I love my place.

question for former/long time employees about the strawberry lemonade!! 🍓

back in 2018-2019, i was OBSESSED w the strawberry lemonade. it was tart and sweet at the same time. i didn’t go for a couple years bc i didn’t live close anymore and ever since the strawberry lemonade has been a more mild, sweet strawberry flavor. the color isn’t as bright either, it used to be bright pink and now it’s a softer pink. i’ve asked a couple servers over a couple visits and they all tell me it hasn’t changed. does anyone who worked there then or been there awhile to know if there was a change & if so, what was it then?!

am i crazy?? does anyone else remember
i tried the reàl strawberry puree infused syrup in some lemonade today and it tasted exactly like chilis old strawberry lemonade so i was just curious.

just engaged! he somehow created my dream ring🥹💍

my now fiancee & i went on a trip to orlando this past week. he planned an early morning activity on wednesday morning without telling me what it was. he booked us a private hot air balloon tour and he proposed while up in the air. it was absolutely beautiful and the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. this ring is exactly what i envisioned in my head my entire life. i had told him over the last few years what i like but could never find exactly what i wanted when we looked around. he got this one custom made & it’s absolutely perfect. i wanted a heart shaped ring more than anything, i love hearts!

i felt like it was coming soon so i had my next 3 sets of nails picked out to be white sets just in case😂

What is the best way to ask for things in a restaurant setting in Spanish?

I work in a restaurant with mostly spanish speaking cooks & I would love to make it easier for them to understand when I ask for things.

For example, we call for things alot.
“Can I get a side of ___ for here,please?”
“Can I get a ___ for here, please?”
“Can I get ___ for to go, please?”

I’m just looking for the best way to say these things!! Thank you in advance!!
