in the big year of 2026, i’ve been stuck on this part of the game for weeks

i looove love the story so far but CANNOT get past this part, i always lose at the last portal thingy on the easiest difficulty, i’m struggling so much 😭🙏🏾 i don’t really play games, i mainly watch playthroughs and my favorite games are all decision based “movie” games so this is new for me

Is it THAT bad of an idea to become a teacher?

I’m 19f, in Houston, about to start school with intentions of being a teacher.

I’m doing a lot of research, but I’m finding so many negative, discouraging comments saying directly to not become a teacher because it’s awful and I’ll regret it.

Examples:

“Go into massive debt, leave after 1 year, move in with family, reevaluate your life decisions and become night stocker at Walmart… had a family member go this route and she’s not dead. So far so good I guess.”

“I’ve heard so many talented teachers leave over the last 2 years, it’s awful. I’ve seen “teacher of the year” nominees leave. I’ve seen new teachers physically assaulted, not supported by their administrators, and leave. Our system has been broken for a while. COVID accelerated things. I think we are in the end stages now.”

“Not a teacher, but I am a social worker that collaborates with teachers. Agreed. Do NOT become a teacher. Even if you survive it, it will turn you into a hateful shell of yourself.”

“Yup. I’m a teacher. Don’t do it. You will regret it.”

“Seriously. Such a waste getting my Masters in Elem Ed. I feel I have nothing to show for it other than it payed some bills but also left me in debt.
I see so many people on transition boards saying they feel guilty or heartbroken for leaving teaching and I’m not feeling any of that. I don’t feel like I made an impact or any kids will truly miss me or I them (I do like a lot of my students but still hate managing their behaviors). I want to run far, far away and never look back.”

After reading so many of these, I’m starting to regret my choice. I have enough time to choose not to go to college yet if needed and find some other degree. So, is it truly that bad?

i’ve been on hold for like forty minutes now 😭 i’m trying to report a child predator. SVU also isn’t open to calls on weekends. does anyone know if the police station on travis st is open weekends for a police report or do i just have to wait until the week?

does anyone else hate him so much

i literally want him imprisoned and locked up forever, i can’t stand his face his smell his voice or anything. i hate him. i don’t have any infatuation or love for him. it sickens me to know he’s free & out there to possibly hurt more children

it’s too damn hot

i might have to rent a room or stay in a hotel or something for the forseeable future, it’s sooo freaking humid and hot here in texas and i don’t know what to do. i’d hate giving this up for a bit but the heat is practically unbearable. if anyone has any ideas on what to do let me know. i can’t drive so when my girlfriend is at work i have to stay parked where there’s no shade on concrete and it’s god awful, especially now that it’s starting to hit the 90s :(

app to find stealth parking spots!

hello everyone! i got recommended this app called ioverlander which is used to find stealthy sleeping spots. people post, rate and review spots that users submit for overnight parking. you can find spots near your location sooo easily with the map too. this is super helpful and blew my mind discovering it lol. sorry if it’s been posted here before!

there’s a predator here

last time i posted this it got removed, but maybe times have changed.

i was in a really bad foster home a year and a halfish ago when i was 17. i would post here pretty frequently asking for help and advice. one day i got a DM from a guy saying he’d be a safe place to stay at, telling me he had kids, how to lie to my foster parents about where i was going, etc. he was 28.

we met up, he gave me xans, did what he did and i kept seeing him to escape my family. he has multiple domestic violence charges including against a pregnant woman, illegally modified guns, etc etc. another underage teenage girl he used to party with and also SA’d died of an OD after meeting him. it was torture staying with him. he also took pics of me when i was underage.

this post has no identifiable information on him or his account at all so i hope it doesn’t get removed this time. he’s very charming at first and really makes it seem like he’s a great guy to be around. he is not, obviously. i see vulnerable posts here sometimes and he has a track record of reaching out. please be careful of who you talk to and meet up with.

FYI i did report this but nothing ever came of it.

a trip to the bus stop in houston

https://imgur.com/a/G7l21jE

probably one of the worst city offenders for unwalkability. luckily this time there are sidewalks and the stop was relatively close (15m)! but i still had to walk under an overpass and was getting fried by the sun the entire time. every time im on the bus here i get bothered by crazies and overall its a fairly unpleasant, hot, slightly dangerous, and desolate experience.
