Is Ublock origins no longer working or is it just me
So i know about the whole Manifest V3 issue that's been going on with google and them forcing extensions to switch to it for "security reasons". Not here to talk about that, but so far so good arc has been working fine with Ublock origins, there was a time when it wasn't working but it started working fine up until recently.
The extension is gone from my spaces and when i try loading them up it doesn't work after i installed a new update. So I'm wondering if it finally happened with arc no longer supporting it with the latest chromium update.
Switched from arc recently, is there a way to make each space separate with it's own browsing data. I thought creating individual containers was the way to go like profiles in arc. But they all still share search
Basically i can see suggestions for other tabs in my other spaces. I have 3 spaces with 3 different containers for each of them. I'm wondering if i set it up wrong. It sucks because i see duplicate tabs for the various spaces as well as suggestions of previously opened tabs that were opened in other spaces
Does anyone know any mod for the single player DS that's ROG compatible that automatically sorts items in player's inventory into chests if a chest contains said item. Don't want an auto picker just simple sort would be great
reddit.comDo you add butter when making Jollof rice towards the end of it or not?
reddit.comI remember reading a manga about a girl who wants to be a mage but can't control her powers so she thinks she's weak
I remember her having a teacher who taught her magic, her teacher seems to be someone very famous. Also there was a dude who was the teachers student as well as her. They both went to the academy and took some type of test, with her passing.
The test was combat with another student, also the teacher and her fellow apprentices are the only ones who actually believe in her
[REQUEST] Looking for a text based story game, where you pick multiple choices and the choices does have consequences as well as influence the direction of the story.
I'm looking for something that's mainly text based and not too focused on the graphics, i would prefer something that diverges based on your choices so choices have consequences. Definitely not looking for something like tell-tale games where no mater the choice you made the consequence (good or bad) doesn't change so your choices ended up having no meaning.
I would like the game to focus mainly on adventure/action and not romance and something thats nicely written in terms of characters and story telling
Is it possible to add a site that doesn't exist to mihon?
I already have mihon up and running properly. But there's this MTL site I recently found for reading chapters that have not yet been translated using MTL
It's not in any of the site extensions in mihon for me and I was wondering if there's a way to add it to mihon
EDIT: I found the extention it was under a different name from the site url
ITAP for a character that's written to be shy, timid and just overall soft spoken mostly female characters
This is more noticeable for me in romance Manhwa/Manga. Where the female character is written to be this shy, timid at times, soft spoken person. They usually clutch their chest and are damsels in distress.
They don't take actions and could be described as wimpy
Failed all of my skill screening while they weren't that hard
So i've been having issues with the verification process and gave up for a while and decided to just try to see if it would work today and it did. I first tried the Generalist skill screening and i failed.
English is my first language and the questions were fairly basic. Although i'm pretty sure i bombed the video part in the beginning as i'm really bad at impromptu speaking and wasn't expecting it. Other than that it was some easy questions but still failed.
After which i got hit with suspicious activity and needed to reverify and while that was being processed i decided to do the python and c# onboarding.
They both started with a simple video question which i again bombed for the python i got caught off guard but gave an answer for the c# i honestly thought i was recording but turns out i wasn't so had to restart with the timer running down.
The questions themselves were actually easy beginner stuff. Which i thought i did well in, only issue is i couldn't figure out the format and for one of the python one i just wrote down the fix to the coding issue and not the full code.
Other than that i believe my answer was good maybe explanations being poor.
The reverification got finished and i was cleared but failed both assessment and now have to wait a month to retake it. Currently don't have any project lined up and don't expect any either given that it seems i'm unskilled at my main Job (coding).
I'm wondering is there even any point in retrying. I did some research and the grading is done by AIso definately not going to get any feedback anyways.
Personally i wish the screening tests were at least challanges that way failing wouldn't be so annoying
Did the Nigerian government ever do any promotion for vaccination
I'm gen Z and from Rivers state. And I got vaccinated when i was born, it's like a regular common thing that i don't even think about.
I've been seeing cases of anti-vax especially during covid from America and other western countries and it baffles me.
I remember growing up in my village and getting my vaccination card, especially for my cousins as well. I'm pretty sure it was free as well. So it got me wondering if the government ever did a campaign to promote vaccination
Be it the Fedral government or Local or State. it just feels like something even a non-learned will do
EDIT: There's also the educational part, i learnt about vaccinations in primary and more in secondary school. how they work, dangers, side effect etc.
And it just makes sense to do, not sure why anyone wouldn't get their child vaccinated or at least consider it. Don't get me wrong there are dangers but good doctor would be able to mitigate them or offer advice as to if a child can get vaccinated (it is possible due to weak immune system or other factors not to) which is fine.
As long as it's been considered. But outright rejecting it by not doing proper research or just looking at doom and gloom without fully understanding it is harmful and bad.
Is there a manhwa with gates and the likes where the MC works for the hunter association like a cop to police their fellow hunters
So you know the typical gates/towers appeared and people randomly gained ability to fight monsters since modern weapons etc don't work anymore.
Normally i assume society would be in a new state of normal and i expect not all ability users will use it for good or won't abuse it.
So a manhwa about some person who are is part of the hunter association whose job is to investigate ability users, stop them if they commit a crime etc.
Closest things i could think of could be special civil servant (working for government thing)
I think it would make for a good read

Suggest me a fantasy or sci-fi book like Suneater series by Christopher Ruocchio or A song of Ice and Fire. That's a single POV and has a grand theme or event going on
I'm looking for something that's a bit complex in terms of events and the cast of characters, where something massive is brewing or about to happen. With a great cast of main and side characters
I would prefer a single POV but would be open to a multi POV work as long as the cast isn't too much and each Individual narrative is strong. I Struggled with wheel of time because i didn't care for some of the characters.
I would also prefer something that's a bit fast paced or just sucks you in from the get go. So no slow burns that i would have to wait towards the end of the book for things to start getting interesting. Or having to wait for book 2.
It's fine if the book takes some thing to set things up and explain/explore events. But there should be something that makes me turn the page and ever looming event/threat e.g The Sword of Kaigen: A Theonite War Story before the climatic events/battle is fine as far as pacing goes.
How did the personal guards of the Primarch feel about their deaths, if they survived given that they are meant to protect them?
So it's my assumption that all primarchs had some sort of their own elite guard groups I know Guilliman and Sanguinius had one. And given the level of devotion and loyalty space marines show to their primarch and how much their deaths impact their legions i would assume it was worse for their guards who were meant to keep them safe.
I'm also assuming that traditions survived as space marines chapters are known for their traditions. So the teachings/traditions of the respective guard unit didn't just die out with them and became forgotten but survived into their respective chapters or sub chapters.
Is there a feeling of guilt in failing to save their primarch, even though it might have already been hopeless and they were doomed? Do they still carry on that guilt into the current era either in the form of traditions/stories etc.
And ultimately did they at least try to save their primarch or go to them even if it meant sacrificing themselves.
ITAW for describing a piece of work might have two elements/concepts that you wouldn't usually see next to each other.
There's this manga i'm reading called Nezumi's first love and the FMC especially as well as other characters are drawn with this cutesy Disney like manner with really cool large expressive eyes.
But the manga itself is pretty dark and brutal. And the art style isn't something you would expect.
There's also Kevin can go F himself. That's done with your typical sitcom vibes, with laugh tracks and a bright atmosphere. And even when the characters do some really shitty things it just gets brushed off with a laugh of cause.
Then it switch to a more toned down serious drama from the prespective of FMC and follows her. And things are not so bright and cheerful anymore.
Basically there's this clash of two elements that you wouldn't expect close to each other
I made a post and the comment icon has 4 so i assume that there are 4 replies but i can only see 2 comments. It's the same on Desktop and android
I'm wondering if i'm misinterpreting the reply icon. It's to the right of the upvote/downvote icon.
It's also the same on my phone (web) as well as my laptop (web)
I am trying to understand what Absurdism means and whether it is mutually exclusive to Existentialism or do they overlap?
I've been depressed most of my life and i've been morbid. And so i've constantly thought about the point of living or the meaning of it all.
So i came to the conclusion to live you have to find something or someone that makes life worth living or gives it meaning.
And the thought kind of developed into this Idea that there's no Inherit meaning mainly because people have different things they find meaningful and worth living for and it seems silly to pick just one thing as the meaningful thing to live for for everyone.
I was raised religious and for a while that meaning meant God. But i found it absurd that life was meaningless to people who didn't have God as the thing that gave their life meaning. For some people it could be their family, job etc which ever it is is fine.
I was doom scrolling through tiktok and i came across existentialism. Which to my understanding implies that life holds no inherit meaning and it is up to us to create our own meaning. Which i agree with
Then i came across Absurdism. Which makes sense on one hand while on the other my brain can't seem to rationalise ti.
To my understanding Absurdism agrees that life holds no inherit meaning.
As well as the fact that it is humans nature try to find meaning in a meaningless world, which makes sense to me. It's like knowing your fridge is empty and opening it trying to look for food. It is contradictory and therefore absurd.
But my biggest question is what comes next, should you rebel against this absurdity or just accept it?
What does rebelling or accepting look like?
This brings me to my 2nd question, whether absurdism and existentialism overlap or are they mutually exclusive.
So whereas absurdism in my opinion deals with acceptance i.e accepting that the idea of finding meaning in an inherently meaningless world is absurd and therefore not finding meaning in it is OK, so creating your own meaning as either a way of acceptance or rebellion is fine as well. As a kind of answer
Or are they mutually exclusive whereby the idea of finding meaning in a meaningless world doesn't make any sense and so therefore trying to create one doesn't work and meaningless.
What i'm trying to get as is that you either accept the world has no meaning (which brings me back to my first question) or you ignore the that and by creating your own meaning your world has a meaning now.
So to summarize can you accept the absurdism while at the same time trying to find meaning in an inherently meaningless world or does. Or does accepting the absurdism means you have to reject the idea of trying to give life meaning as it is pointless
Could someone recommend me some plot/lore heavy manhwa. Something that either makes you think, or just want to discuss it with someone
I really don't want some one dimensional edgy or crazy MC. There should be some substance to them, same goes with side characters and NPCs. They shouldn't just be there for the MC to aura farm and show how cool they are.
The villains should also be interesting, i know 90% of manhwa villains are always going to lose but there should be some effort and some general plot going on.
Speaking of plot i'm looking for something where the plot advances, in an interesting way and shouldn't be for example everyone thinks MC is weak, turns out they're not, people are shocked rinse and repeat.
Also i'm looking for something not that popular given the fact that i've read a lot of manhwa so chances are if it's popular i've read it. Just give me some favourite niche manhwa recommendation.
I've read and loved; Fogland, Warrior Kariel, Sweet home, No home, The Blood of the Butterfly, The Shepherd Wizard, Journey of iron and ice,Distant Sky etc
So stuff like this
I think people misunderstands Batman's No Kill Rule and why it exists.
So there's this manhwa called Surviving the Apocalypse that i love. It's about this guy who has been raised underground by an abusive father, and has been lied to that the surface is a full blown hellscape.
When he escapes at first things feel ok before all hell breaks loose. Now the protagonist doesn't know much about human interaction, because the only human being he's known was his shitty dad.
As the story progresses we get to see that there's more to the MC and how he's not fully human. We get glimpses of this and it's not fully stated but the story shows that there's something more to the MC and he's somehow related to the monsters that have invaded
The MC has a no kill rule as well and he desperately doesn't want to kill, and even when pushed without saying it or fully realising it he knows that if he kills he might loose himself in it and become a monster.
Anyway this reminded me of Batman's no kill rule and how they were similar. One aspect of Batman's character that people don't acknowledge enough is that Batman is Insane. It does get acknowledge in some storylines like the Killing Joke which i really love.
But just like in Surviving the Apocalypse the stories don't spell it out for us the readers but should be something people should infer. His rogue's gallery are mostly all insane and some of them usually get locked up in Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane.
"Criminally Insane" Being a core part of the name. So there's no way a guy who dresses up as a Bat, has gone through all the trauma he went through and rather than choosing to heal from that uses it as fuel to become a vengeance itself, isn't insane.
However the No Kill Rule is he's way of keeping himself in check, of not letting that darkness fully consume him. He needs that darkness, that insanity to be able to go after his villains. But at the same time he needs something that keeps him from fully becoming like them.
It hard to put into words what becoming like them means here, it's more like full on disregard about life willing to do all that it takes to achieve his goal etc.
Batman's no kill rule isn't really some killing is morally wrong so i won't do it, or i want the Gotham legal justice side of things to handle it etc. But he's just setting up stopgaps to keep himself sane or pass off as sane.
It's not that if he kills one guy he won't be able to stop etc. But the fact that he would have finally like the MC from "Surviving the Apocalypse" let that monster out. And he isn't sure what's going to happen but he does know that it's going to be bad.
He might be able to control it, he might be able to set up new checks/stopgaps for himself but he's still fundamentally different from who he was before and can never go back.
Heck he even wanted to kill the Joker after what he did to Jason and the Joker got lucky, he somehow got diplomatic immunity and Batman would have killed him if not for Superman intervening
I honestly wish more stories explores Batmans no kill rule and not just in the Killing is bad morally lame type of way. As well as explore his insanity more
TL/DR: Batman is insane and has to be to go after criminals in Gotham, but in other for him not to lose himself and fully become like them he has his No kill rule to keep him attached to his humanity and keep him in check.
