How does MHS 3 compare to MHS 2?

I put about 80 hours into MHS2 at its release 5 years ago. I am downloading the demo of 3 right now. I have heard there is no "post game" or anything to do after you beat the final boss of 3 which...I am not sure how I feel about that.

I also heard 3 has less monsters. But 3 also features an adult protag who speaks so that might be better, cause the one thing I really did not like about 2 is how I felt like my MC was basically an NPC who had no agency. Navirou and the gang did all the work and made all the choices and I was just a puppet.

So in your opinion how does 3 overall compare to 2? Do you prefer it? Do you prefer 2? If so why?

Help me decide if I want to pick up 3 after I finish the demo or not.

Setting up GTA Online as a "Single Player" type experience?

So I really enjoy doing GTA Online as a solo player. I like just running my businesses, doing jobs, that sort of thing. Thing is, I want to find a way to mod it so I can do things like

- Lower enemy aggression / aim (dear god their aimbot ass selves drive me nuts)
- Access the non soloable heists as solo
- Make other non solo activites into solo ones

I am not looking to really remove the grind for income or anything. I want to earn my progression. I know this is theoretically possible as I already found a list of some mods and one turns heists all into solo ones, but I am curious if there are mods to basically make the enemies more manageable and make the full GTA Online experience into a more "offline solo" one?

I have never looked into this kind of stuff so I am not sure where to start. I am used to modding (I mod bethesda games, cyberpunk, etc) so thats not the issue. Just never really thought about doing this?

What is a good build for MAXIMUM ZOOMIES?

So I am aware of the concept of the Skater build, where you use Vires Might to zip around the battlefield.

I am wondering what the best way to get MAXIMUM Zooms there is out there? And how viable it is now, in the new world of FoA?

I want to basically sprint around like a nut job while murdering everything in my path!

I got my stupid tank (Warder) and now I want MAXIMUM ZOOMIES.

Your favorite Campaign / Legacy Dungeon Crawler games that DON'T use Tiles for Maps?

So I recently got Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion, and also became aware of Rove.

Both of these games use a sort of map booklet for their dungeons / encounters which I find is really handy for limited playspace as you can kind of gauge exactly how large dungeons can get.

While I own and have been playing Eldfall Chronicles Northern Wind, as well as own Descent 2nd Ed and League of Dungeoneers, the fact that these games all use tile based map layouts that can get QUITE large kind of makes things hard.

So I am wondering outside of Jaws and Rove, what are some other dungeon crawlers that use Map Books?

Am I seeing things? Are these new? (Possible Spoilers)

I got around 700 hours in GD before FoA. I was leveling my new Hot Dawg character and I noticed in Foggy Bank a strange ring of mushrooms. Now I have seen the map numerous times and I swear to god I have never seen a ring of mushrooms there.

I took that screenshot and then went about my business. Today I entered Kurn and I run into not 1 so far, but 2 of these rings!

Has anyone else noticed these things? Hell, have you noticed em elsewhere? I have a feeling this might be something but hell if I know what!

Your favorite Solo Games that fit in a 2ft by 2ft space?

So I have been playing Eldfall Chronicles Northern Wind lately and enjoying it but some of the tile layouts for the maps get kind of...big. And I am working with a space that is roughly 4ft by 2ft in size. I am curious what are some games out there that can fit within a 2ft by 2ft space that are a lot of fun.

I already have Kinfire Delve and that obviously works. I also own League of Dungoneers and Mage Knight but I have not tried those.

But what are some other fun solo board games that don't take up too much table space?

Good Desk Mat / Play Mats Solutions

So I got a table I use to play on, and the surface is painted wood which makes picking things up kind of annoying, and occasionally things just slide around (tiles and the like) really easily.

I want to get a playmat to cover the area, but a lot of the games I play take up basically the whole desk so I need something that is the right size.

I was thinking of a neoprene "desk mat / mouse pad" type item. Does anyone have suggestions on where I can look into getting one? Amazon is always an option and I am browsing there but I am wondering if there are other options.

This is something new to me so I am not sure where to go looking. I would prefer not to spend too much cash on this (so like $30 for a budget) and I need a mat to cover 36 inches by 24inches (roughly, the exact is more like 33in x 23.5 inch but I can deal with a bit of overhang on the sides)

Your favorite "AAR" Build?

I have always wanted to sit down and play Albrechs Aether Ray but have not really dug into what a good build for it is.

I have 700 hours in GD and to be honest I barely have touched Arcanist anything (I love Oathkeeper, what can I say)

What are some of your favorite builds for an AAR type setup. I just want to stand in place and FIRE MAH LAZER lol

How do you all store your games? Shelves? Closet?

So I got my little office and its got limited space. I am trying to think up ways to store my ever growing collection of board games. Right now I have the big box ones (Stuff like League of Dungeoneers and Mage Knight) literally on my floor stacked up, while other things like the 3 Kinfire Delve sets on a small cube shelf I have.

How do you all store them? Do ya just stack up in your closet or on the floor? Do you have a specific sort of shelf ya use?

I am trying to get some ideas cause as my collection grows its going to become more and more needed to sort this situation out lol

What are some of your favorite "Narrative" board games?

Stuff where you get actual storytelling in between quests or missions or playthroughs. I own Eldfall Chronicles Northern Wind and League of Dungoneers for instance (as well as a few other dungeon crawlers) but I always love a game, any game really, that can tell me a story.

I want something a bit more involved then a gamebook though. I am well aware of things like Fighting Fantasy and the like. Hell I own Legendary Kingdoms Book 1.

This might be a stupid question but!

I primarily play PvE games. I am not a huge PvP guy. However, I understand that Warhammer Online / RoR are focused to an extent ON PvP based stuff. Just how much PvE content can a person engage in? Are there things a PvE player can do to help RvR and the like?

I never really tried Warhammer Online when I was younger, so I am curious just how it handles the world of Warhammer, but at the same time I am a carebear. What can I say, I dont react quickly enough to really engage with PvP lol

Cant load my Digital / Virtual Copy of ACNH on my Switch 2?

SOLVED: turns out the DLC is on one acct and the base game on another, I forgot this was the case since I had purchased both years ago before virtual cards and the Switch 2 were even a thing.

Go figure.

So I have had ACNH on my Switch Lite for a long time, and recently got a Switch 2. I went to play it and it wants me to repurchase it.

But it also says I have the virtual game card loaded on the Switch 2.

I am signed into the right profile, I tried unloading and reloading the virtual card, and nothing will let me play the game. Every time I try to access it, it just says to go to the EShop and asks me to buy it. I made sure the virtual card is not loaded on my Switch Lite either.

What is going on? I would normally call Nintendo for help but they are closed today. Is it because I don't have the Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade purchased? I didnt think that was required to play the game on my Switch 2.

EDIT I think some of you are misunderstanding something

    1. The two switches are linked together, I went through that process already.
    1. I dont want to copy my saved game, I actually want to make a new island
    1. If I load the virtual card on the Switch 2, it SAYS its loaded on the system, then acts like its not and wants me to purchase it
    1. I can unload the virtual card on my Switch Lite, but still play the game
    1. I tried downloading the full ACNH game off the Eshop with my account on to the Switch 2, and still have this issue.

Basically no matter what I do I cannot get ACNH to load on my Switch 2 despite doing everything. I even went so far as to use my 1 time per year unlink to remove my Switch Lite, and relinked the two consoles fresh today.

The ONLY thing I do not own is the Switch 2 Upgrade DLC for $5 which, from everything I have seen, is not required. Unless its now required.

Has anyone come up with a build with 1 attack, and everything else is either passive or a proc?

I have this dumb idea where all you do is push one button, and watch the screen light up with effects, explosions, summons, the works. A true "default attack" proc build where you literally only have 1 active skill.

Has ANYONE done anything this dumb yet amazing?

Looking for URBAN FANTASY games

Examples include

  • Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 1 and 2
  • Unavowed by Wadjet Eye Games

I dont care what Genre, I dont care if its NSFW or not. What I want are engrossing stories set in a modern setting with supernatural elements.

Frankly its nigh impossible to find these damn games. Everything I find is either set in a more historic period (like the Thaumaturge or Vampyr) or full on medieval.

I am playing the Thaumaturge right now for example

Tips / Guides for setting up Party AI in Pillars 2?

So when I first played Pillars 2 ages ago I did it in turn based mode, but this time (After I finish this Pillars 1 save / run) I intend to run it in Real Time mode, and I understand I can actually adjust / program (to an extent) my party automation and AI unlike Pillars 1.

Thing is, I am not sure just how customizable / in depth this is? Are there any guides for setting up your chosen characters well so they can work independantly (mostly) from the player?

I mostly just wanna focus on my MC (who is going to be a Barbarian SOMETHING multiclass, with a mod that gives me full class progression on both sides) and let my party do their job as if they were not brain dead morons.

Cause right now, Aloth casting Confuse over and over during fights in Pillars 1 can drive me a BIT bonkers even if it helps make fights manageable.

Also side thing, any suggestions of fun Barb multiclass setups? I got 1 suggestion from a previous thread of mine of doing Furyshaper / Soul Blade which sounds hilarious but I am open to other ideas.

Looking for a Spoiler Free "Path" thru Pillars 1 with all DLC included?

So basically I am trying to figure what order I should be doing things, and when I should do certain things. I have never actually played all the way through Pillars 1 so I am unsure when to tackle certain things or areas or side quests. I found this Reddit - https://i.redd.it/drb82izh7rp41.png but I dont actually know when the Acts end? So it saying "Finish Act 1" for example leaves me going....but when is that what is that?

Any guidance would be most appreciated!
