Design done entirely in Krita. Original dimensions are 360x210 px scaled up to 7205x4205 px using nearest neighbor.

This piece took me around 35 hours to complete, and it was one of the longest single art projects I've done in almost a decade.

Let me know what you think!

Went to my first card show and traded my wedding dress nami alt art for one of my favorite SP’s

The nami was ungraded, I know the prices don’t line up and I may have taken a slight loss, but tbh, being able to get a slabbed SP of one of my favorite characters by trading a raw alt art feels pretty good! How’d I do?

Finding an Empathetic Partner

I (30M) have a hard time justifying dating. As an adolescent I was very hyperactive when I was diagnosed, but as I've aged, I have become increasingly inattentive, regardless of medication and therapy. I find that my good days now usually consist of a very small "active" window where I can get things done. Outside of that window, the only way I can push myself to do something specific, is if I am currently in a state of hyperfixation towards that thing.

Onto the dating, I'd first like to say that I don't find it fair for me to subject another person to this lifestyle. The partners that I'd had in my early 20's, have always expressed some form of concern for my inconsistency; laziness has been mentioned. Those relationships all lasted under a year, and all still fell within the time-range of: "you are my current hyperfixation so I will try my best to be as present and non-ADHD as humanly possible". Now that I am older, I can look back on those relationships objectively, and say with confidence that after a certain point I would have become a lot more intolerable.

Onto the empathetic partner, as stated in the title. What worries me the most now, isn't not finding love, it's not finding someone that can understand me and stick with me through this. I am aware that failed relationship/marriage always a risk, ADHD or otherwise, but knowing that it will be that much more difficult to find that success has really made me feel stuck. I also have become a more empathetic person with age, so another issue I have is feeling like I am taking advantage of a good person (assuming I do find a suitable partner).

I appreciate any of you who took the time to read this, it's been weighing on me pretty heavily these days.

Advice on temporary MAD replacement

Hey everyone! I was diagnosed with sleep apnea 5 years ago. I’ve tried just about everything, the only thing that’s consistently worked really well for me is the herbst MAD appliance that I’ve been using for a little over a year now. Unfortunately, my body has gotten used to the current configuration and my airway has narrowed to the point that even with the device I’m starting to have apneas again.

My only option right now is to have my ortho send the appliance back to the company to have them reset the arms to a more advanced position, but this takes two weeks. My ortho recommended a couple months ago that I try out some temporary appliances to see if they work before sending it in. So far I have tried the sleepright snoreaid. It broke on the first night, my jaw pushed the plastic advancers back into their starting positions. So what I think now is that I’ll need something completely rigid to get me through this two week period.

Have any of you had success with OTC MAD appliances for temporary use? If so, which one worked for you? Thanks in “advance”!

Anyone else try purchasing the Chinese second anniversary set on eBay this week?

A few days ago I was browsing eBay looking for some deals. Found a bunch of high rated sellers listing the Chinese second anniversary set for around $480-600. Wanted to get my hands on a serialized boa, so I went ahead and placed an order.

A couple days go by and the seller messages me saying “this item is out of stock”, and I immediately notice the listing on their page and the other pages were gone/sold out. I also started seeing a bunch of new listings for the same set from different sellers listed between $2-3k.

The seller claimed that the shipment he was waiting on was canceled by the vendor because they saw the prices increase and wanted to sell for higher.

Whatever the truth is, I just feel weirded out by the whole ordeal. I told the seller that I will not be asking for a refund and that if he wants to cancel that it will be on his end. We are in negotiations right now but the whole thing just feels shady.

Anyone else have any experience with this or something similar?

Is this a fair deal for the Japanese version?

Some conflicting pricing info online for this card. Just wondering if this is a solid deal or not, might pick up tomorrow if so!

A structure materializes overnight in a massive rural field. The structure is made purely from the exact volume/composition of all living human mucus. Because human mucous still remains intact, what amount of resources would the earth have to surrender for this structure to exist?

This question is being posed to help illustrate a physical example of the total mass of all living human mucus.

Wasn’t sure how to tag this question as it involves both physics and chemistry. I have listed additional questions below:

  1. What is the size of the structure?

  2. What is the rural/global impact?

  3. What resources are most at-risk of depleting, if any?

WYR make $100k per year for life and be immune to all illness, or make $3m per year for life but you deal with 3 hours of nausea every day?

Stipulations -

$100k:

- This is the post-tax amount.

- You can never make more than this amount per year. You can work if you want to, but any pay will be deducted from the yearly total.

- You are still subject to the laws of nature (mostly), you are not immune to bodily harm, or dying of old age. You are immune to any perceivable illness, anything from the common cold/flu, to autoimmune diseases, even more complex illnesses such as addiction or other mental health issues.

- Your blood cannot be studied to make cures, but you are allowed to donate. Your blood type remains the same and won’t show any anomalies.

$3m:

- This is the post-tax amount.

- Your income is uncapped. You can invest, launch a business, whatever your little heart desires.

- The nausea cannot be cured, treated, or avoided in any way. Think of a time in your life where you experienced your worst possible nausea event, this is what you will experience for 3 uninterrupted hours each day. You will, however, be able to choose when the event occurs each day.

Any realistic chance at a 10?

Edge fuzz was dealt with. There is a spec at the top, doesn’t look like missing paint. And the surface blemish above the E looks like a manufacturer blemish, there is zero denting in the area indicative of a scratch. Just wondering if it’s worth the hassle, I know it’s always a gamble.

How we looking for a PSA 10?

Buddy at the shop said it’s a coin toss with the spec at the top. What do you guys think?

Anyone able to help ID what I’ve found?

My mom and I have been cleaning out her storage in small chunks over the last year or so. Today I stumbled across this collection of silver dollars tucked away. She doesn’t know much about them as the collection originally belonged to my father. It is incomplete on the right side, but the left column is filled out. I appreciate any insight!

Share your post-op experience!

Hey everyone! There’s been a pretty large influx of new users coming here to ask if they need DJS, Genio, etc. as I’m sure you’ve noticed.

I figured this would be a good time for post-op peeps to consolidate their experience in one place for newcomers to read. This is a very serious procedure that can definitely be life-changing in both positive and negative ways.

A couple questions to address:

  1. How long ago did you receive surgery?

  2. What surgery(s) did you undergo and why?

  3. How long was your post-op recovery?

  4. Do you have any permanent pain/numbness directly caused by the surgery? If so, how severe?

  5. Considering your “why”, was the entire process worth it? Would you do anything different?

Thanks to all who participate! This helps me as well, I have been in the pre surgery process for over a year now.
