why do respectful non-flirty hardworking guys get called “gay” or “creep” while some desperate flirty ones still seem to get treated normally or get attention?
Not about me but I’ve noticed this pattern a lot (college/office/social circles).
• Guy who is genuinely good, kind, respectful, focuses on his work/career, avoids gossip/drama and doesn’t flirt around → quickly labelled either “gay” or “creep” by girls.
• On the other hand, some guys who show obvious desperation or overdo the flirting (even if it feels creepy) still get replies, attention, or are treated as “interested/normal guy”.
Anyone who have seen or faced this — what’s your take?
Is it because complete non-flirting reads as zero interest / suspicious?
Do women expect some level of bold signal even if it’s sick?
How do you guys personally handle it?
