I was thinking this recently but Paige is not the only tragic character on the show

I get why the actress wasn't available for the last season but I can think of 4 other characters that really were sad characters.

There's Nathan although that's probably self-imposed as he admitted to Sheldon about not bothering to look for work.

There's the librarian, Ms. Hutchins, who likely stayed depressed and single.

There's Billy Sparks who likely didn't ever graduate middle school.

There's June who admitted to Connie that she has no friends.

Am I right to ignore this one person who thinks I like her when she doesn't get she was rude to me?

There's a semi attractive person at my job who I started to ignore.

I'm NOT mad at her but I've found her fake and obnoxious.

She asked me when she was really new why I was in the backroom that an employee can go going through one of the doors in the employee break room.

I told her that I was just looking/reading things on my cell phone (I'm usually on a job board site looking at other jobs or on this site).

She suggested that I just be on my phone in the employee breakroom.

I was like, "Alright fine."

There's a big couch in the employee and I sat on one side of the couch and she immediately got up and moved to sit in one of the 3 chairs in the break room.

I had no intention of leaning into her, touching or flirting.

After this, there was a time where she rang me up and didn't give me the right amount of change.

I paid for a case of bottles of ice tea and I gave her a $50 bill.

She ended up giving me a $1 bill and 40 cents.

I looked at the receipt and it turns out, she entered $10.

We were making small talk so I didn't see her run the $50 bill through the counterfeiting machine.

I didn't report her though because she's new and I didn't feel like making it a big deal.

She later gave me "advice" on ringing up customers by telling me, "Just a piece of advice, you shouldn't snap your fingers or wave or point to a customer to come to you."

I was sweaty when she told me this as I'm not only a cashier at times but I am janitor, receiver and stock person at the small grocery store her and I work at (she was only hired as a cashier).

She'll look at me at times funny and earlier today smiled at me when I came back inside after going outside for a while during my lunch break to get air.

When she's not ringing up customers, she doesn't find anything to do and will just be on her cell phone.

Although I am friendless, do you think I did the right thing by telling her off?

I had a "friend" from this sub who ghosted me after her and I wished each other happy new year this past January.

Surprisingly, she texted me on midnight today asking me, "How are things?"

I replied back, "You ghosted me and back to me now?"

She replied back saying, "Apologies, understandable."

I replied back to her, "Whatever" and then blocked her from my cell phone.

I just think it's insulting and rude to ghost someone for a longtime and text back like nothing is wrong.

How to feel if your family puts you down and your problems but want you to care about theirs?

My mother tried to make me feel sorry for one of my older sisters who got demoted from her job as she was a supervisor for a sporting goods store I used to work at.

I worked the the same company as her but in a different location.

This sister of mine would hit me up for money, be embarrassed to ever introduce me to her past coworkers and friends, steal from me and used me to babysit my niece who is now 12 years old (I am close to my 12 year old niece though).

In February of this year to celebrate my mom's birthday, I asked her while we were out to dinner if her store only got deliveries one night a week like at the location I worked at and she simply told me, "No we don't. Your store sucks!"

She told me that when we worked for the same company!

Whenever I have my own problems such as being lonely, my mother tells me the following: Who cares? Whatever, Your problem is your own problem.

Did you ever feel leave a toxic workplace, quit or fired, yet still feel you were getting punished if your next job/jobs weren't any better?

Long story but I got forced out at a toxic workplace last December.

What happened to me, affected my overall health as I didn't go out for nearly all of last December and early January except to get a haircut and go on in person job interviews.

Since I didn't go out for nearly 2 months, I didn't go running which I used to do a lot along with going to the gym.

I ended up losing some my hair and had gotten white hairs.

I ended up getting a "part-time" job at a Dicks Sporting Goods in the middle of this past January BUT it was ONLY 1 night a week.

The HR person and my direct manager at that job would call and text me to work additional shifts but those additional shifts were only for 4 hours.

I was forced to quit because that job didn't want to accommodate my new availability once I got hired at a Costo.

The HR person at at Dicks Sporting Goods texted me to ask me, "Are you going to submit your resignation or should I."

From late February to all of last April of this year, I worked as an early morning produce stocker.

Costco I'd say is the only retail job where I was constantly micromanaged, corrected, pressured, given attitude and ignored by a direct supervisor.

I was fired when I never called off, never was late, never disappeared at times, only ever took a 15 minute break at my shifts were only 5 hours totaling up to 25 hours a week, never argued with anybody when I was an early morning produce stocker.

I never stole or broke anything.

I got let go because that direct supervisor of mine in the produce department, told management I "never" did anything that he told me to do and that I "didn't care" to improve on the job.

I passed certifications for my position such as food safety certification yet management didn't want me to move me to stock in another department or do something like folding clothes or getting shopping carts in the employee parking lot.

I only had last month to go before being able to enroll in benefits at the job.

I should've quit but I listened to my folks when I reached out to them to tell them how I was treated by my direct supervisor in the produce department.

Their "helpful" advice was "Never mind and just do your job."

Obviously that didn't work.

Not making it to 90 days and beyond was humiliating but more so because that direct supervisor of mine, helped clock me out for my final shift and then he walked me out to the main entrance as if I was a criminal.

He had the nerve to tell me, "Thank you."

I didn't say one word to him after he told me that.

I was in a state of shock and felt like the wind was taken out of me.

I got a job offer last Friday for a full-time job with benefits that kick in once I start and I won't be probationary or seasonal.

Despite getting a new job again, it's like I can't feel happy.

I forgot to mention what happened to me at the job I was forced out, made my doctor prescribe me anxiety pills and blood pressure pills (the blood pressure pills I still take on a daily basis).

Is it strange to feel burnt out if you've gone through what I have since last November instead of getting to a point of happiness getting another job?

Starting last November, I got badly betrayed by someone at a job I worked at.

What happened left me with shock, anger and depression.

If I hadn't lost that job, I would've gotten a second job performance raise this past January and I would've made it to my 3 year anniversary this past March.

I gained weight as I didn't go running and to the gym for a longtime (I started going back to the gym this past April).

I also lost some hair, gotten white hairs and my doctor ended up prescribing me blood pressure pills and anxiety pills (the blood pressure pills I still take).

I've mostly been ghosted by jobs I've applied to and then most of the interviews have been awful such as a CEO laughing in my face when she told me, "It looks like you've worked everywhere."

I ended up getting 2 jobs-one in middle of this past January and another job in late February.

The job I got in the middle of this past January was only really 1 night a week and they didn't want to accommodate my new availability so I quit.

The HR person texted me asking me, "Are you going to submit your resignation or should I do it for you" after I only ever called out twice?"

The second job I started in late February, fired me on the first of last month when my direct supervisor went to management telling them to fire me because I "never" did anything he told me to do.

I got a job offer last Friday that I accepted where I won't be a probationary employee like my last job (Costco) and I'll be full time, my pay will be the same as Costco and benefits will kick in once I start on the job.

Maybe I should feel happy but I don't.

How would you feel if you had older sisters like them?

My older sisters not only treat me like trash but they allowed their husbands to treat me like trash as well.

I don't have a brother.

I wasn't invited to my eldest sister's wedding back in 2008 which was years before she gave birth to my eldest niece in 2015.

She yelled at me to put down my youngest niece when she was a baby.

Her husband despises me and tried to brainwash my youngest niece that I'm a horrible person.

My other older sister used me to babysit my eldest niece, hit me up for money at times and never paid me back.

She's also stolen from me.

She blatantly disrespected our dad by not taking his last name to use as her middle name when she got married.

She would purposely ignore me and not introduce me to her friends when I was a kid.

She put me down as much as my eldest sister.

Her husband would act fake towards me and put me down for not ever being a lead/supervisor or manager at my jobs when he's not management at his own job.

While over at my folks house earlier last night to celebrate the combination of my father's birthday that's on June 2nd and my two nieces finishing school (my youngest niece celebrated graduating from elementary school while my eldest niece is finishing up sixth grade), I found out my sisters belong to a cousin group chat on my mother's side of her family.

Both of my sisters husbands are rude to my folks and have banned themselves from ever stepping foot in my folks house.

I guess the only positive is that both of my nieces love me as their uncle.

How to feel if you did end up getting a job or jobs again like I did but you're back to being unemployed again?

I started this year unemployed.

I got a job the middle of this past January but the job was only for 1 night a week and didn't care to readjust my availability when I got another job.

I ended up quitting that job.

Well I was forced to quit really as the HR manager texted me asking me if I was going to put in my resignation or if she should do it for me.

The second job I had, I was a probationary employee the last two months.

I was an early morning produce stocker.

At the end of my shift on the first of this month, I was told by one of the assistant manager that I wasn't going to finish out my probation because I "never did anything" my produce supervisor had me do.

I was given my last two paychecks, gave my employee badge to that supervisor of mine and then he walked me out to the main entrance when the store just opened.

I never called out to that job, I was never late, didn't disappear on the job and only took a single 15 minute break as I only had 5 hour shifts.

I didn't argue with anybody and didn't steal or break anything.

I still got fired.

There were things that direct supervisor lied about me in his second evaluation of me.

I'm back to being unemployed again.

This time, I feel like I'm running out of jobs to apply to.

I haven't had any family or friends to help me through being unemployed.

It's not the money part for support, more so just emotional support.

I haven't cried this whole time but I just feel lost and jaded.

Would you have not badly getting rejected knowing you had to run into a former boss who treated you like trash?

I had an interview two days ago at a grocery store where I'm from in the same city where I used to work at another location of that grocery store.

The position was for overnight grocery team stocker.

The interview seemed okay.

I ended up getting a text last night at 6 pm saying I was rejected as that store found a better candidate.

I thought as much as I'm struggling to find a new job (I've been unemployed the last 2 weeks), I would've hated to run into and be nice to that former grocery team leader who is now an assistant store team leader.

This guy made comments to me like, "You're the king of the overnight shift," "I am the one who pays you" and "You ONLY work hard for compliments."

He didn't want me to ever move up in the company.

He also blocked me from getting an interview/transferring to the produce department at the grocery store I used to work at and then got upset when I didn't want to work in the receiving department.

Would you be relieved to not have been rehired if you had to run into a former department manager who is now an assistant store team leader?

I had an interview yesterday at another Whole Foods where I'm from in the west coast in the same city where I used to work at another Whole Foods.

The position was for overnight grocery team stocker.

The interview seemed okay.

I ended up getting a text earlier at this night at 6 pm saying I was rejected as that store found a better candidate.

How to feel if a job you quit years ago, doesn't feel like rehiring you when it's new management in place?

Yesterday afternoon, I called up the third most recent job I worked at.

I spoke to the current store manager who wasn't the store manager when I ended up leaving that job (it's a grocery store).

I asked her a simple question-Am I on the not rehire list?

She asked me what my name was, so I told her and I told her that I talked to the grocery department manager (grocery department was the department I worked in).

That new grocery department manager knew me when I worked there as she was a front-end supervisor.

It turns out that new grocery department manager flat out lied when she told one of my former coworkers who still works there in the grocery department that I "should" apply.

I ended up applying on a Thursday night the other week and then I went to that grocery store Friday morning around 11 am and spoke to that new grocery department manager.

She told me everything "should be fine" as I'm not on the not rehire list and I told her that I do have open availability.

All of last week passed by and she NEVER got back to me on the phone and then this past Saturday morning at 6 am, I got a text message saying that grocery store was moving on from me as they found a better candidate.

I gave that new grocery department manager the benefit of the doubt that she genuinely wanted me to come back even though when I used to like one of her friends that worked at that grocery store, her friend gave me her cell phone number and ghosted me.

She ended up telling me that her friend was mean to guys and bad at relationships.

I was like, "Why didn't you tell me these things about her when you were encouraging me to talk to her on her final shift?"

She told me that, "I didn't want you to go what if?"

This was back in January or February in 2022.

She didn't apologize to me and I ended up letting go what happened.

It just feels like that she purposely duped me into believing she wanted me to come back since I'm currently unemployed (this week marks my third week unemployed).

So back to that new store manager, she sounded annoyed and exasperated finding my application.

She ended up telling me, "Maria (the new grocery department manager) will call you."

Up to now, that Maria still hasn't bothered to call me.

I knew of one manager at one of my old jobs who would act all nice but she didn't know anything work-wise and didn't want to ever know how to operate the cash registers.

Is it best to just move on when I was told to reapply at the Whole Foods I used to work at?

One of my former coworkers at the Whole Foods I used to work at, texted me the other week to reapply at the Whole Foods that I used to work at from September 2020 to early March of 2023.

He told me that the new grocery team leader, told him to tell me to reapply.

She knows me as she used to be one of the front-end supervisors and the Whole Body team leader.

I didn't get fired from that Whole Foods as I quit.

I was the grocery team receiver (brought in the deliveries when they came from UNFI, closed out the purchase orders) and was the stocker as well mostly in the overnight grocery shift.

I was the last grocery shift team member who lasted as everyone else kept quitting or getting fired.

I went down to that Whole Foods I used to work at and talked to that new grocery team leader who knows me and she confirmed to me that she talked to that former coworker of mine to tell him to tell me to reapply.

Well early this morning, I got a text message and email from SAGE telling me that Whole Foods I worked at is moving on from me and will go with another candidate.

I don't know if I am really on a not rehire list because last December I did have an interview with another local Whole Foods where I'm from for an open produce team member position.

This past Friday at the end of my shift, I was told by one of the managers at the job I had where I was a probationary employee (I felt seasonal though the whole time though) that I was going to be let go before my probation was over.

I only had this month left in my 90 day probation.

I kind of expected to be let go because my direct supervisor lied about a few things about me in his second evaluation of me.

This direct supervisor I had, micromanaged me, pressured me, gave me attitude and would ignore me at times.

He never actually trained me or had me shadow any of the longtime workers in the department I was in (produce as I was an early morning produce stocker).

It's humiliating to be let go before my 90 day probation.

I always came to work as I never called out, was never late, never took long breaks, never goofed off, had no argument with anybody on the job and never stole or break anything.

I was really let go because I wasn't a fast enough worker.

I started this year unemployed and now I'm back to being unemployed.

I mean I did have another job that I got the middle of this January but it was only 1 night a week so I had to end up quitting it.

I do feel relieved not to wake up so early just to only work 5 hour shifts.

I still have cuts on my hands and arms that haven't healed along with having bad carpal tunnel syndrome on my hands.

I haven't cried but now I don't know if I can pull off getting another job before this year ends.

I went through starting this year unemployed and then I ended up getting two jobs.

You would think it would be great that I ended up getting two jobs right? No!

Both jobs treated me like garbage.

The job I got the middle of this January was one night a week and there are times, I would be called or texted to pick up additional shifts BUT ONLY four hour shifts.

I only ever called out twice and then the H.R. manager texted me to ask me, "Are you going to submit your resignation or should I?"

I ended up quitting that job.

This past Friday at the end of my shift at my current job where I worked the last two months as a probationary employee, I was told that I was fired.

I NEVER called out, was never late, didn't take long breaks (I only ever had a single 15 minute break as my shifts were only for 5 hours), didn't goof off, helped out other employees, didn't get in any kind of fight with anybody and didn't steal or break anything.

What did I get fired for then?

I got fired for not working fast enough for my direct supervisor's liking.

It was in my mind that I would not be kept going into my 90 days because my direct supervisor made a few lies about me in his second evaluation of me.

Also, he would micromanage me, pressure me, give me attitude and ignore me at times.

That direct supervisor of mine, helped me clock out for my last shift, then I handed over my employee badge to him and then he walked me out of the main entrance.

The last thing he told me was, "Thank You."

I'm NOT depressed losing this latest job BUT I am mentally tired and still have to deal with having cuts on me (arms, fingers) that haven't healed from working at that Costco along with having BAD carpal tunnel syndrome on my hands.

I don't know what to do now.
