First time painting water!
This is the third oil painting I've done. Struggled a lot with the water so I tried my best at following a tutorial. In general I'm happy with it, but know it could be much better. Any critiques are welcome!

I have a lot of down time and alone time so I'm looking for nice conversation. I have a lot of hobbies and interests, so if any of these line up with yours, hit me up :)
Favorite music is a wide range, anything from horrorpunk to motown. Off the top of my head favorite bands would be The Adicts, Dio, The Cure, Black Sabbath, Gogol Bordello, The Smiths, Misfits, Gregory Alan Isakov, Nick Cave, Johnny Thunder, and a lot more
Favorite movies are anything by David Lynch, most anything horror, and a bunch of indie movies. All time favorite would have to be Wristcutters: A Love Story. Sucker for great cinematography or animation. Need an obscure movie rec, I got you.
Also love painting, drawing, reading, I used to write but not so much lately. Plant lady and cat mom. Getting back in shape also so getting back into yoga and take any excuse to go on a nature walk when weather is cooperating. I'm into video games but don't play as much as I'd like, just have a hard time focusing on one thing at a time.
I am married and not open to things getting flirty or weird. You can be weird, just don't make things weird please. And please for the love of god don't be dry or have one word responses that are impossible to make a conversation from.

I've realized with the painting I prefer to do, I really love making these dreamy "backgrounds" but feel like they need an anchor of some kind. So I added the tree line for this painting to create a kind of back/foreground. Still struggling with painting intentionally, everything came from just intuitive painting except for the trees and that's what I'm least confident in.
Excuse the values too, some of the darker parts look more black than the deep blue they actually are.
I've started pursuing art much more seriously and even have a buyer for a new painting I'm working on. It's my second oil painting I've ever done. It's the second painting I've done recently, and prior to these two I haven't painted in 8 years. I'm more rusty than I'd like and need a lot more practice to be at a level I'm happy with. I didn't even try selling it, i just shared a work in progress picture to a friend and they showed it to some people they know and one of them is interested in buying. I tried selling it to them at $175 (seemed reasonable considering it's my first sale and how rusty I am) and they insisted $650 was more fitting for it. I'm blown away. I've asked around and went to my local artist's guild to ask about the pricing also and even they confirmed that it's a fair price if not a little low. Haven't told anyone because I'm not the most confident in my work and it feels lame to call myself an artist. But I'm really proud of myself. This is my dream and it's really surreal. When I was in high school and college I would gift or give away my artwork just because it would fill my room so quickly and I needed more space. It's wild to me someone wants to buy my work but absolutely baffling that it could go for so much.
I always grew up knowing it was a pipe dream to hope to make money off my art, my mom always pushed being more sensible than that. So I ignored painting and would only draw when it was convenient to do so. I know I'll never make a living on it. But it felt so good to come back to painting. And it's so gratifying to see someone appreciated my work so much they want it. They want it in their home. And not only that, they want to BUY it. I'm crying right now and I'm just so happy and didn't have anyone to share with.
Some of these patches are from my teens (repainted/touched up) and some are newer. The bat being upside down was also demanded by my baby niece and I can't deny her. I have all my favorites here though.
Love my baby so.
