Should I buy Farever if lookng for a good MMORPG?

I was looking for a new MMORPG to play as I played most of them and was looking for something fresh. I really like when MMORPG rewards you for beating a boos, like with loot like weapons, armor or mounts. I typically enjoy them less if the reward is tied to a quest, as it makes it feel the bosses less special (at least to me). I saw this game Farever released and people say they like it but it has some technical problems. Is it worth it to buy it right now or is it better to wait until the game runs better?

Hybrid Xin build (just a theory)

With the recent AP buffs to Xin I thought about a possible hybrid build focused on the insane healing passive + D&D provide.

Core build would be Hydra -> D&D -> Riftmaker. Hydra provides good stats and an AA reset which quickens our passive heal. D&D is kinda self-explanatory. Riftmaker provides omnivamp, bonus damage and scales off the health we already build. Next 2 items are situational, same with boots.

Biggest incognita is 1st item. Sundered Sky is an option but since we focus more on our passive maybe an extra AA is better? Another option would've been BOTRK to add some AA damage since we don't build that much AD, but feels really bad as an item overall right now. Nashor is not really my cup of tea on Xin as E provides tons of AS already and going full Ap feels like trolling, and Statikk I feel may be better on midlane Xin in order to abuse it's effect.

After 10 years of playing, I've finally learned about core items and proper itemization

Soooo yeah, I've been playing this game for 10 years and just yesterday I've learned about core items, and it made everything clearer to me!

I wanted to share this stuff here because I feel it's not talked about enough, especially for new players when looking at guides. People usually tell you "if you play this champ, your build is gonna be this into that into something else ecc..." and even if they explain why they build these items, they don't explain the actual math behind the build (at least, not in the guides I've watched after recently starting to study the game in order to get actually good).

So, what are core items, and why everything you buy should be around it?

Core items are items that have an internal scaling and, in order to be good, they need other stats from other sources in order to enable your spike
.
One example is Sterak's Gage. Steak's a really good item which gives you really good stats per se, but it also gives you a really strong shield. Problem is, the shield scales off of your bonus HP, which means that in order to be actually good you need to buy some HP first.
So, you'll need to buy enablers. In most cases, it comes down to 2 items before you buy your core item, and the enablers usually seek to be items that gives benefits both to your core item's scaling effect AND your champion's kit. For example: Xin Zhao likes to have HP, AD and AH since he relies heavily on his skills and they scales off of his HP (passive healing) and AD (we don't need to buy atk speed on him because his E + runes provides more than enough AS). So, our enablers should look to have these stats and, since they build HP, they build perfectly into Sterak. Currently, Xin's best enablers are Sundred's Sky due to his broken healing effect, and Black cleaver mostly because of the armor shred. After these 2 enablers, buying Sterak will provide enough HP to make it gold efficient, therefore hitting you spike.

But what do you build after your core items?
After the core items, there are situational items. Situational items are, hence the name, items that are build to adapt to the singular game's situation. But note that situational items should still focus on making you core item scale even more. Still keeping Xin as an example, his fourth item should be build around which type of damage poses the most threat in the game. If most of the enemy team is AD (or if you're really fed and want to be almost unstoppable) you go into Death's Dance which yes, doesn't provide HP, but his passive gives Sterak's shield way more value by delaying part of incoming damage. A simpler example would be if the enemy team has problematic AP damage, in which case we build Spirit Visage, which actually provides HP and boosts our healing and shield power, giving a huge boost to Sterak's shield and all of our healing.

Another example is Master Yi, which's core item currently is Guinsoo. Guinsoo doesn't really have a determined scaling effect, but since the stacks it provides build on every AA, you can see it as scaling with your attack speed. Hence, your enablers will need to build ATK speed.
Yi only needs 1 enabler though. Why? Because his ult naturally provides a lot of ATK speed, so you can see his ult as an enabler. That to say, some champions actually don't need 2 enabling items in order to build their core items. It all comes down to the champion's kit in this case.
Since atk speed is kinda pointless without AD, we want an item that provides both AS and AD. There are many items that fall into this category, but currently the best choice is Kraken Slayer as his skill synergizes really well with Yi's kit and provides a huge boost in damage.
After building Kraken's, Guinsoo is ready to be built since we now have the 2 enablers we want (item + ult). Okay, so what now? We go into a situational item? In Yi's case, not really. Yes, we've build a lot of damage, but we're still a fighter and we need survivability. Since we didn't build any defensive stats, we'll starting needing items that provide AS, possibily AD, and the defensive stats we are looking for. As we build our 3rd item, chances are the proper threat of the enemy team has not been already settled, so we need generic defenses for the moment. That meaning HP. So, an item that provides HP, AS and AD. Best current choice is Experimental Hexplate, because it provides every stat we're looking for on top of making our ult's CD faster and boosting AS even more, giving even more value to our core item (which remember, scales off AS). Now we go into the situational items. Against AD the best choice would still be Death's Dance because it's really that good honestly (and there is currently no items that provides AS and Armor. Except Bandlepipes but...come on.), meanwhile vs AP best choice would be Wit's End as it provides AS and magic res.

I hope this post can help some newcomers to understand how builds work, and maybe even learn how to create their own builds (to test in normals!). I know this guide is not perfect and doesn't cover every exception, but it's a good starting point. This stuff has helped me a lot understanding the game better and actually helped me climb, as I now know when my main champs have their spike and, therefore, when to start actually being a proper threat. Have a good day!

Games lag after a while, is it some kind of memory leak?

Recently I've started to notice that, after gaming for a while (around 1+ hours), the games I play start to go slower and slower, with increasing input lag, stuttering and audio problems. It doesn't happen with every game (for example, League of Legends runs normally and Pragmata does too). It does happen though with games like Crimson Desert and Neverness to Everness. It starts with a bit of audio scratching, leading to stuttering during more demanding scenes and 1+ seconds input lag. I've tried changing the games graphic settings, but it doesn't change anything.

I run a Ryzen 5 5600g, AMD RX 6700XT and 16GB of RAM. I play on an official XBOX controller from the Series S. I have no other bluetooth devices connected.

I've already asked on a friends' group and they told me it might be a controller problem (a bug from gameinput which causes memory leak), but is it really it? It sounds strange to me that a gamepad would cause such big problems. I would understand it if LoL was the only game I don't have problems with since I play it with the keyboard, but Pragmata has no problems too and I play it on the same setup with the same controller. I must admit though, there have been some instances where my bluetooth just didn't work and had to restart it a couple times, but recently it seems to have stopped doing that after some drivers updates.

Experiencing heavy input lag, stuttering and audio problems after PC gaming for 1+ hours

Hi, lately I've been experiencing some issues when playing some games, and it happens after playing at least 1 hour on my PC.

Basically what happens is that I experience heavy input lag with the controller, heavy stuttering and sometimes even sever audio scratching, making it impossible to play. Game settings don't matter as it happens bot on minimum and maximum graphic settings.

I don't know if it's 100% my PC's fault, because it only happens on some games.
Some games where this happens are Crimson Desert, Resident Evil 9 (started happening on the later stages of the game) and Neverness to Everness.
Games where it doesn't happen are League of Legends, Pragmata and RDR2.

Specs (everything up to date):
Windows 10
Ryzen 5 5600G
AMD RX 6700XT
16GB RAM

I do have a bit of overclock on the GPU, but it's nothing too heavy and the temperature is always ok.

What could be the issue? Is it my PC or something software related?

I've finally managed to find my 2 mains and doing pretty good with them, managed to reach Gold which I never managed to reach in my entire league career. Farm also feels ok but is it? I feel I could also improve my laning presence, but me playing 2 scaling champs I dunno if it's the correct thing to do?

I still haven't had the chance to try the new patch, but as of now what's the general consent about shyv's build? Is PTA kraken + D&D still the way to go, or is full bruiser better with something like hexplate + spear, or maybe full ap with D&D + statikk/riftmaker/nashor? By just theorycrafting, couldn't a fleet footwork build with D&D + statikk be good as a sustain-centered build?

Hi,

I'm a 26 y.o. male and lately I've been feeling guilty about not being productive during my free time. A bit of a background, I've been working as a SE for the past 6 years and I have many passion, the main one being videogames in general (not just playing but also studying them, like consoles history, genres evolution ecc...). My main hobby after work has always been playing videogames, but lately I've started too feel guilty about not being productive after work. I think the main problem could be the fact that many of my friends who don't work yet (they either study or are looking for a job) have some sort of productive hobby, like drawing or modifying cars. Mine is playing videogames, and I recognize it's pure entertainment without any concrete output. I've tried many things like trying to learn how to draw or writing novels, but everytime I lose motivation and go back to videogames. Don't get me wrong, I still like playing them and I'm not gonna stop, I've managed to schedule a healthy relationship with videogames where I know how much time is ok to spend on them and how much importance is ok to give them (I used to put gaming before studying during my school days, but I've managed to get better).

So the main problem is that I feel like I have the potential to do something productive, because I don't think I'm unskilled as one thing I know about me is that I'm a fast learner for basically anything I get interested in. I just feel like I still didn't find what I could be good at that's productive. I'm not gonna lie, I also think that making something productive off-work that could get me some more money to get to the end of the month with more safety is the main reason I feel this way, but it's starting to feel heavy on my shoulders and it's stopping me from enjoying my hobbies at their fulliest, as I often think "I'm wasting time, I could be doing something productive rather than playing/reading/watching this movie ecc..."

I've considered going to a psychologist, but they're rather expansive at least in my area and would like to get some tips here before to maybe get my head around and focus on what could be the main problem about me feeling the urge to do something productive and remunerative after work.

Ciao a tutti,

I'm mainly a toplane player and, when you play toplane, you need to build a proper champion pool in order to adapt to the matchup. FOr example I usually blind darius, but he struggles against ranged champions and heavy CC comps so my other two mains in my champion pool are nasus and garen.

In the jungle, not having to face an opponent constantly makes me wonder if it's a more suited role for one tricking or at least having less choices in the pool, like 2 champs that work fairly similar. I know there is the probability for invades, so youd never pick a weak early game champion vs a strong invader, but honestly I feel like it might be better to focus on less champions as I feel jungle is more forgiving when it comes to same role matchup (if the opponent is for example strong at taking objectives, you can counter it by stealing their jungle, or viceversa, so you're not really disadvantaged as if you'd be in a bad matchup in the toplane for example?)

I've recently managed to get a working PS2 for a good bargain (60 euros, console + controller + cables + 8MB memory card), something I was looking for a while because I really wanted to replay the games that made my childhood and weren't available on PC by legal meanings.

After looking to buy games at local fairs, I started looking in my parents' house for my old games and, although I didn't manage to find every game I had, I've found these and memories came back to hit me like a train.

SH3 and Killzone were technically my first games ever because my dad would play those and let me watch him play. DBZ 1 & 2 I think I might've burned the disks with all the time I've spent playing them. Ape Escape 2 was a blast, really excited to come back from work today and play it again. MGS2 sadly doesn't have the game disc, only the making of, but I still wanted to keep it. As for the others I don't think I played them a lot but it's still a nice throwback!
