More than 3 weeks dodging a refund: Cancelled order immediately, but Insta360 refuses to provide the transaction ID (ARN). Anyone else experience this?

I'm posting to see if anyone else has dealt with this specific refund stalling tactic from Insta360 support and how you finally got your money back.
Here is my situation:
Order Cancelled Immediately: I placed an order for over $800 directly from their online store, but I cancelled it almost immediately. The package never even shipped out.
Internal "Approval": Their support system shows the refund was supposedly "Approved" internally over three weeks ago.
Dodging the Transaction ID: The money has not hit my credit card. I’ve been aggressively following up with their chat support for more than a week specifically asking for the Acquirer Reference Number (ARN) or the gateway payment trace ID so my credit card company can actually locate the missing funds.
Stalling Tactics: Every single day, support gives me the exact same copy-paste response: "We will follow up with our finance team and get back to you." They outright refuse to provide the ID, and a rep even explicitly told me not to initiate a chargeback because it would "prolong the processing time."
It feels like they are deliberately running out the clock so that I miss my bank's dispute window.
My questions for the community:

  1. Has anyone else had Insta360 claim a refund was paid but then refuse to provide the actual transaction ID when pressed?
  2. How did you finally get it resolved? Did posting here help get the attention of higher-tier support, or did you just have to force a chargeback through your bank?
Thanks in advance. I'm incredibly frustrated and just want my money back.

Luna Ultra not compatible with cloud – how to upload files from PC? (and can I use another compatible camera?)

Hey everyone,

I have an Insta360 Luna Ultra and just found out it’s not compatible with Insta360+ cloud.

I transferred all my videos from the SD card to Insta360 Studio on my PC.

My questions:

→ Is there any way to manually upload these files to the Insta360+ cloud from the PC or Studio?

→ If I use another compatible Insta360 camera (X5, Ace Pro 2, GO Ultra, etc.), can I copy the Luna Ultra files onto its SD card and upload them to the cloud that way?

Otherwise the cloud is basically useless for Luna Ultra owners…

Thanks in advance for any help!

It was bound to happen...

So I got off my bike this morning and found my selfie stick hanging by a thread. I was lucky I didn't lose the camera (X5). The last Pic shows where I have it mounted (in "drone" mode). I guess it's time to get the larger mount.

SD Card Bought from Insta360 Store Stopped Working (Not Detected) - Is it covered under warranty?

Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice regarding an SD card issue.

I bought an Insta360 X5 along with an SD card directly from the Insta360 store last September. The camera has barely been used (only taken out 3 times total-LOL). Checked it last night and the camera gave an error saying no SD card was detected. I ran a couple of quick isolation tests:

Tried the Insta360 SD card in another device (PC / card reader / phone)-> Not detected at all.

Tried a different working SD card in the X5 -> Works fine. So the camera hardware is fine, but the SD card seems completely dead despite barely being used. Since it’s under a year old, does anyone know if memory cards purchased directly from Insta360 are covered under their warranty?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Luna ultra overheating issue while charging: 4K60 and 8K modes

I’m an Osmo Pocket 3 heavy user contemplating switching over to Luna Ultra! My main motivations for switching to Luna Ultra are the ability to record in 8K, wider field of view and the innovative removable screen. Right now, I record 3-5 hours straight in 4K60 while OP3 is plugged in for charging. However, after reading about issues on here regarding overheating and insta360 themselves recommending in comments to not simultaneously charge and shoot in 4K60 or 8K I’m concerned that I won’t be able to record for 3 hours straight. I’ve two questions:

  1. Is there still an issue with overheating while recoding in 4K and 8K while simultaneously charging after recent firmware updates?
  2. What’s the maximum amount of recording time you get along with the battery handle while shooting in 4k60 and 8K?

Please share your experience. Thank you!!

X6 / Luna Ultra still no livestreaming support?

I've upgraded to the X6 and Luna Ultra and want to sell off my old gear but... neither of these cameras seems to support livestreaming yet?

The freaking manual for the X6 has instructions on how to livestream but states it's not available yet (well it says something along those lines, there's a pretty bad typo in it).

I guess Insta360 rushed these things out the door? Does anyone have any insight when this feature will be available?

Some said it is common, some said it not right as it should able to record for an hour or so more.

Wow this is such a great innovation

So to install dive case first I need to search an area which has less humidity.

And then have to replace lens as well.

Who is this amazing genius of insta360🧐

Insta360 GO 3 Died Instantly in Water + Zero Support After Warranty

I bought the Insta360 GO 3 expecting it to live up to its official specs and marketing claims, specifically its IPX8 waterproof rating (up to 5 meters). I simply took it for a light swim in a standard pool. I didn't dive deep or exceed any operational limits. Right after coming out of the water, the camera completely died and refused to turn back on ever since. It is completely unacceptable for an action camera marketed as waterproof to fail on its very first basic water exposure. This is a clear manufacturing defect and a complete failure of quality control. If you are planning to use this camera anywhere near water, do not waste your money. The waterproofing is unreliable, and you risk bricking your device instantly. Extremely disappointed with the product quality.

Studio 6.0.2 features removed

I just updated to 6.0.2 and sadly cannot view/edit individual clips any more - it forces me to create a project, which is really cumbersome when you have 100s of clips (like 500+) and you need to sort through them, edit individually, *then* decide which to pull into a project to make finishing touches on.

Does anyone have a new workflow they can suggest to me, that perhaps I'm missing? The only option I see now is to add each clip to the timeline view (in the project), review and make simple edits, then remove it and do the next... then at the end pull then all into the timeline. This will take WAY longer and I was mid-stream planning and putting together a big travel video.

Thank you!

App keeps disconnecting on X6

Hi,

First time 360 user, not sure what I am doing wrong.
I just spent an hour trying to edit a 40 sec video from my X6 on my Samsung s22 phone.
As far as I see, I am properly connecting to the camera, I see the footage, I edit it manually, then when I go to export it, the app always disconnects and my export fails. Anyone experiencing the same? I am trying to export to my phone in 1080p, 25 bitrate, no watermark. Am I doing something wrong?

Insta x4 - how can this happen? Look at this! Can it be fixed? Barley used it. #dirtbike

So I bought this camera to get footage on a dirt bike so I'm going through the whoops and then it completely snapped. I didn't crash I didn't jump a huge jump. So what gives.

Yes it was mounted correctly yes it was on tight and it was even on an electric bike which means there's no vibration..

... so frustrating... Cheap. Definitely not an action camera.

I guess there goes $500 down the drain.

Terrible. Cheap crap.

It's a great camera but it's super cheap material I mean it's literally super thin plastic.

So what do I do with the camera can it get replaced?

Luckily the camera was recording as it completely snapped as proof that I didn't crash.

I guess I got to buy the X6 but I don't really want it now because I don't want to have it get demolished..

Really hoping I can get a replacement but if I get a replacement it most likely will happen again right..

It's as if the plastic got super brittle and it just dried out and eventually cracked and then when I went through the whoops it finished the job perhaps.

It's wild because I've taken this camera off 100 ft jumps and it never faltered. Even promoting insta360 on my YouTube..

No cool man.

....

.......

..........

Has this ever happened to you? .. tips to avoid?

Insta360 X6 - Are the colors too pale/washed out?

I'm looking at multiple videos on youtube for the new Insta360 X6 and in most of them, daylight videos look too pale and washed out. I guess it's caused by the 1 inch sensor, but still... Is there a way to fix it? The Insta360 X5 in the video I posted seems to have better colors than the X6. For night videos, the X6 is much better of course.

And just like that, the X6 fanbois are gone. lol.... The footage from multiple creators of the DJI Osmo 360 II is leaps over the X6,.

I thought I would have been let down by the Osmo like I was with the instatrash but the footage speaks for itself and it's that simple. Near edge to edge clarity from the footage from not 1 but 6 different youtubers footage. Night and day looks good and not jello like.. Quite impressed.

However*** I want to see pure spherical video to make final judgement but I have already ordered mine. :)

Price went up?

I already bought the Essentials bundle yesterday, and it was selling for $799, and the unit itself sold for $699. Why did the prices go up all of a sudden, almost $150 more for the essentials bundle. I'm in the US, so that's a weird price hike.

Insta360 X3 Water Damage

Pretty disappointed with my Insta360 X3 and wanted to see if anyone else has had this happen.
I purchased the camera in March and it is still under warranty.

I only took it into the water once, to about 1 meter deep, after carefully confirming the USB and battery covers were fully closed. I slowly lowered it into the water to avoid splashing.

I later noticed a small amount of water in the charging port, so I immediately stopped using it and dried it out with silica gel packets for 3 days.

Since then, the touchscreen glitches (see video),it randomly stops recording, and the memory readings are inaccurate.

I sent the camera to Insta360 for warranty service, and it is currently with them. Their technicians couldn’t replicate my issues but did confirm water damage and want $180 to replace the motherboard and battery.

I’m pretty frustrated, especially since the camera is under warranty, was only used in water once, and the X3 is advertised as IPX8 waterproof.

Has anyone else experienced water damage with their X3 despite the covers being properly closed?

Insta360 X6 Nighttime 低光源夜拍全景影片|8K VR 360°|【福岡 ─ 追山笠】

This video ALREADY shows how shitty the footage is folks. As if we should be surprised. At night, when hes walking you can see the AI / Processing struggling hard while hes moving. You can see the JELLO like effect, the artifacts etc. Fine right? for 750.00 after taxes USD - that this is okay? You clowns really vouch for this shit?

THEN, it must get better during the day time? With the crap replaceable lenses which lowers the lens stack and in turn lowers quality. Because sissies keep dropping cameras we now have to have lower quality because of it.

The footage is shit. Look at the corners left/right and not even that far out of center. What is wrong there? What is your excuse? It has nothing to do with not knowing about 180 degree blah blah.... nothing at all. Bad optics, shitty AI instead of focus on actual good footage from innovation, and this is the SHIT that u/instatrash keeps pushing to all of us.

Insta360 X6 - is going to suck. But r/DJI doesn't seem to be doing anything better.

No resolution bump, just ai SHIT and 8K 60. Even if r/insta360 aka INSTAtrash does 60 fps which it will probably do later on, it's still all the same trash. r/dji - not that it matters, unless you buy it gray market as you won't be able to get it here, but why would you even try? 8k is garbage. And no, I don't care if YOU don't have a computer that can't candle 10k footage or higher.

10k/12k has been out for quite sometime on the larger cameras and that tech is like 3/4 years old. They CAN make 10k cameras with dual one inch sensors, but both companies are milking you dry using scamfluencers and fast video made for a phone.

I don't consume my films on a 4 inch screen so No, I don't give a shit about these low quality devices. Give us something meaningful instead of the same ole garbage. And NO, I don't care about replaceable lenses, unless DJI finds a way to maintain 100% of the quality. When you go to user replaceable lenses like instatrash did you have a quality drop. They aren't using the same glass they used in the fixed lens setups. The optical stack is different from what I have seen and it makes sense. Costs to much to make replaceable setups that are afforable but you trade off quality for being able to replace something because you're a #$%ing idiot who can't take care of their equipment.

DJI Osmo 360 II — leaked/expected specs

Current leaks point to:

  • 360° video: 8K @ 60 fps
  • 10-bit color
  • D-Log M
  • User-replaceable lenses — one of the biggest upgrades
  • Improved 360° image quality/processing
  • Likely backward compatibility with DJI's magnetic mounting ecosystem
  • OsmoAudio direct DJI Mic support expected
  • Improved thermal performance/recording at high frame rates

The 8K60 and replaceable-lens information has appeared repeatedly in recent leaks, but DJI has not yet published a full official global spec sheet, so sensor size, bitrate, battery runtime at 8K60, slow-motion modes, etc. aren't confirmed enough for me to give you numbers as fact.
