How Do You Know When It’s Time To Let Your Cat Go?

My poor sweet 16 year old cat Socks has been diagnosed with a gastrointestinal lymphoma, a small tumour on her liver and a thickened heart wall.

During the last few months she has stopped sleeping in bed with me, lost loads of weight, stayed outdoors pretty much 24/7, not played, slept a lot and generally gone downhill.

My vet shaved her yesterday and it made me cry because we realised just how skinny she’s become.

She is still affectionate and when the weather is cooler she will walk around the garden, come upstairs to me in my bedroom and seem a bit more upbeat.

My vet has been wonderful. She has done test after test to try and find out what is going on and now we know the answer she has left it up to me to decide what to do.

If anyone else has been in a similar position, what did you do?

Mini Rant About Shopping

It really fooks me off when I’m in a massive queue at the checkout (I’m next to get served) and the shop opens another checkout.

Guess what happens? All the fookers behind me go swarming to that newly opened checkout despite me being next in line! They basically jump the queue!

So far I haven’t kicked up a fuss but it’s getting to the point where I’m going to have to….

Reflux Stop

Hi all. Has anyone else heard/read about a device called Reflux Stop? If so what are your thoughts on it? I have begged my gastro doc to consider putting me forward for the surgery but he seems very reluctant.

Childhood Asthma & Reflux

Hi all! I have suffered with acid reflux since I was a teenager. I am now 47. I have been taking medication since I was about 14.

I had pretty bad asthma when I was a child and I’ve read online that there is a very strong link between childhood asthma and reflux.

I was wondering if anyone here had asthma as a child. When I mentioned it to my gastro doctor he kind of dismissed the idea, but there seems to be growing scientific evidence that supports the theory.

DAE spend money on random crap they don’t really need?

I look on Temu and see things that look cool and buy them and then don’t use them. I think I’m probably craving a dopermine rush and I am not quite sure how to change it 😭

Nosey Parkers

I am a photographer with ADHD, Autism and social anxiety. I prefer to be on my own when taking photos and I’m quite nervous around people.

I mainly photograph buildings so I’m not standing in crowds or getting in people’s way. I don’t advertise what I’m doing and I just quietly get on with my craft.

No matter how discreet I am, people constantly want to know what I’m doing or they want me to take a photo of them. It’s so annoying!

I get the same questions over and over again; “What are you photographing?” “What camera have you got? I used to have a [insert random camera make here] but yours looks better. What is it?” “Will you take a photo of me and send it to me on WhatsApp?” “Why are you photographing that building?”

Why can’t people just mind their own business? I try my best to go out when there are less people about but it’s like I’ve got a fat light up sign stuck to me that says “Come and annoy me now!”

I also get asked for spare change at least 6 times an hour. Sometimes I give people money but a lot of the people that ask me are scary as fuck. One time I said no to a beggar and he threatened to smash my head in 😭

When you buy something like a TV, a pair of headphones, a game controller, etc, do you always keep the original box?

My grandparents kept every manual and receipt for everything they ever bought. Sometimes they kept boxes but not as much. I do the same but stuff is piling up now and I’m beginning to think maybe it’s not that important.

BAM Meds Making Me Worse

Hi all. I’m on week 3 of taking Colesevelam and I’m actually feeling worse.

I am pooping a lot more each day, the stools are loose, they smell dreadful and they’re floating.

Has anyone else struggled with Colesevelam like this?

Loose Skin

Hi all. I took Mounjaro for a short while and lost 14 pounds. Then I had to stop it so I could get some tests done at the hospital for an issue unrelated to my weight.

When I get back on it and start to lose weight properly I am worried about loose skin.

I am male, 47, 5’5 and weigh 12 stone 8 pounds. I have suddenly acquired bingo wings (overnight I swear!) and I have a fat belly. I’m worried that at my age my skin isn’t as elastic as it used to be and I’m gonna end up with loads of loose skin after weight loss.

What are other people’s experiences with their skin? Did it shrink? Did you end up with loose skin and have to have surgery? Does it bother you if you have loose skin?

Thanks in advance 😎

Which cafe/restaurant do you miss the most?

I really miss Little Chef. I always used to go there on road trips with my family back in the 80s and 90s.

You could always guarantee getting a decent plate of egg and chips and a pancake with maple syrup and ice cream for pudding.

We always used to nick handfuls of free sweet lollies on the way out 🤣

Revision Surgery Refused

I have been denied NHS funding for revision surgery as they class it as cosmetic. I asked if I could appeal and they said yes. They now want me to ask my GP to write a letter explaining why it’s not classed as cosmetic.

I’m annoyed. A GP can’t really answer that can they? A surgeon would be in a better position to explain don’t you think?

Do you guys think it’s worth pursuing the appeal with a surgeons letter? If I decide not to appeal it’s going to cost me upwards of £10k. I have got the money but I kinda feel like I shouldn’t have to pay for revisions!

Dry Skin

Hi all. I suffer from very dry skin and nothing seems to be helping. I’ve tried Vaseline, E45 cream and a number of other less well known potions but my skin stays dry. If you have the same problem, have you found anything that works? Thanks in advance.

Resale Value

So players can only get $500,000 a week per duped Issi? Oof that’s a hell of a price cut!

I suspect players will just buy a modded account instead of duping so it isn’t really going to change the way people ‘cheat.’ They will just find a different way to make money.

Filter Quality

Hi all. I don’t have a lot of money so I’ve been buying infrared filters from Mad Cameras in the UK. They are quite thin but they give fairly good results.

Daft question, but what is the difference between a cheaper filter and a more expensive one? Do the expensive ones have better coatings? If so, how does this affect the photos?

Thanks in advance 😎

Bank Accounts

Hi all. I am signed off sick with anxiety, stress, depression, ADHD, Autism, chronic stomach/bowel problems, etc and claim PIP and UC.

I detailed all my problems in my claim forms and stated that I often need support from my carer when I go out. I didn’t say that I never go out because that’s not true. I can go out with support.

What worries me is that there isn’t really any way to prove this. If the DWP decided to look at my bank statements they might think my transactions for food and ‘sundries’ means I can go out alone.

I’ve heard of people in my position being accused of fraud and this terrifies me! It’s hard enough to get help with mental health issues to begin with and now it feels like we’re all going to be punished for spending our benefits on things we need to live.

Does anyone else have mental health issues and social anxiety? Do you have a carer? Does it worry you that you could be targeted even though you’ve done nothing wrong?

When you’re in a cafe and the waitress is sweeping the floor and keeps pulling the chairs out from under the table without lifting them up. ITS SO NOISY!

Clinical Partners UK

Has anyone in the UK gone through Clinical Partners for their assessments and medication?

I went to them through the NHS Right To Choose because the NHS waiting times were too long.

The waiting times with Clinical Partners have been shorter which is great, but the service is dreadful!

They miss Zoom appointments, they don’t tell you things you need to know and then they get mad with you when you haven’t provided information they forgot to ask you for!

My first titration appointment was a disaster because they failed to ask me to get an ECG. I had to get that done for my second appointment and then when I provided it they said it needs to be looked at by a specialist. So my second appointment was 2 seconds long and another waste of time.

I’m so mad because all I want to do is get on my meds!

I have these recurring dreams where I’m on a train and when it comes time for me to get off at my stop, 99% of the time I can’t get off the train.

The train always stops at my station but the doors only ever stay open for a split second and I never have enough time to exit. I then miss my stop and end up trapped on the train.

Very very occasionally I will manage to get off at my stop but it’s very rare. I absolutely hate these dreams.
