A Dying Mall in its Final Days: The Beautiful MacArthur Center Norfolk, VA
This is the video I took of a walk through of this beautiful mall. Tomorrow is its last day of operation. If you live in Norfolk make sure you pay one last visit to this gorgeous former Taubman mall.
Beautiful 1965 Imperial Elevator Motor Room
This is in a retirement home in Roanoke, Absolutely beautiful motor room. Elevators run perfectly.
Beckley Crossing Shopping Center. Beckley WV. Non working sadly
A final look at MacArthur Center.
This is a beautiful mall. Sadly it is closing in a few days. I came in early June to visit the mall to take some photos and videos. The mall was gorgeous but the experience was not. Security were total turds and being owned by the city now you have a first amendment right to take photos. After police intervention with security, I was allowed to capture my photos and videos. If you do plan on visiting the mall before it closes, stand your ground. You have the RIGHT to take photos here. In frame 15 you can see 2 of the security goons following me around the whole time screaming that I can’t take photos as I continued to do so 😂
New Old Stock Sony Minidisc recorder MZ-B100
This thing is immaculate and works perfect. The mic has an adjustable sensitivity and sounds better than the MZ-B10 I recently got.
Sony MZ-B10 new old stock mini disc recorder.
I recently got this off eBay for 135$. It works decently however I need to take it apart and grease it.
Fisher PH-MD100 I purchased new in 2000
I bought this boom box in 2000 at the Circuit City Express store at the St. Louis Galleria. I had been eyeballing it for some time back then. It was a floor model. I was walking by the store and it was on sale for 199$ so I picked it up. This boombox was a huge part of my youth and what got me into minidiscs. I used this radio in college. At my first apartment. In my old house. At work. This radio has been thru hell and back and then I put it in storage in my basement and forgot about it. I was cleaning my basement and found this under some boxes totally covered in dust and dirt. I thought there was no way it worked. I plugged it in. There was a mini disc in the player. Pressed play. No disc. Took a camera lens duster and blew it out a couple times and lo and behold it read and played the disc. Pressed eject, it would not come out. I put a screwdriver in the mechanism and gently wiggled the disc while pressing eject and it slowly came out. I put the disc back in and the mechanism worked perfect. I recorded a few seconds off the radio, the record function worked perfectly. The tape player still works perfectly. The CD player has issues with the interlock thinking the door is open at times so it is very finicky. Also it skips very easily. I am so happy I found this, I wish I could find another display cover as you can see mine is badly cracked from where an elevator panel fell on it. I just thought I would share this with y'all. Before I put this away, it endured 20 years of use and abuse in very bad environments and yet it still lives on. I want to give this thing some love and try to get it back to tip top shape however cleaning it and getting just the basic functions working is a start. Only regret I have is I wish I knew how rare this would become and I might have taken better care of it but then again, if I had done that, I might not have gotten nearly as much enjoyment out of this as I did as this radio basically took me from early college into adult hood and has never let me down.
Considering a N707 however reading issues with using web md. Is there a type s net md recorder that runs off an aa battery and has a mic jack like the 707?
Okay so I almost bought a 707 however I am reading about issues with compatibility with WebMD on a Mac computer. The 707 has everything I want I am just concerned about compatibility. Does a type s player exist that runs off a double AA battery and has the same inputs as the 707? Or should I just go ahead and get the 707?
Found this in my basement. Bag it was in was full of mold. Cleaned up the unit, plugged it in and it works great. This brings back so many memories and I’m glad I found it
Absolutely stunning Otis elevator in a private home in Norfolk. A HUGE thanks to the homeowner who I met here for inviting me to see it. It runs amazing and is in pristine condition
