BOTW S1 + Upgrade or S2 version?

TL;DR: I’m stuck between selling my opened S1 version of BOTW for $40 and opening my S2 version or returning the S2 version for $70+tax and just buying the S2 upgrade for $7. Yes seriously.

I’m also wondering the storage/performance difference on the Switch 2 in both scenarios. If the S1 version downloads the upgrade, does that run faster than running off the card from the S2 version? (Internal storage has been shown to be faster than cartridge).

I own both BOTW & TOTK, I've played a bit of BOTW. When I got a Switch 2, I returned my sealed copy of TOTK and bought the Switch 2 version of both games, still sealed.

For some reason I'm torn between selling the opened version of BOTW and having the Switch 2 version of both, or returning that Switch 2 version of BOTW and buying the upgrade which is on sale now for $7.

I don't have NSO and it makes sense to just get the upgrade, but I kinda want the newer packaging on the shelf.

I'm very slow to play the games but quick to buy. Both Switch 2 versions are still sealed so I'm thinking "Why should I keep a game I could return for $70+tax vs keep an opened one I could sell for $40, but pay $7 for the upgrade instead."

I have already swapped the Switch 1 for Switch 2 versions of TOTK, Mario Wonder, Metroid 4 & Kirby Forgotten Land, returning the unopened S1 versions. I do have the S2 version of BOTW but haven't opened it.

If they came out with a S2 version of Mario Odyssey, I would NOT get it because the S2 upgrade is free...unless it had extra content.

Such a stupid point to get stuck on, it's 100% the collectibility aspect for sure.

Physical XBOX Series X vs PC & Game Pass?

TL,DR: If I have access to Game Pass and a gaming PC, is there any reason to have a physical XBOX?

I was recently given an Xbox Series X and am trying to figure out if there's a reason to keep it. I also have a PS5 Pro, Switch 2 and Gaming PC. I usually only play console games for exclusives and the only XBOX exclusive I know I liked is Halo. If there are others, please LMK. Didn't really get into Gears of War for some reason...

I had previously bought a used XBOX 360 to go through all the Halo games (before the Master Chief Collection existed...).

Looks like Game Pass has Halo Guardians available on XBOX Cloud Gaming and Halo Infinite is able to be installed on my PC.

With Guardians on XBOX Cloud Gaming, will that visually look worse than getting a disc of Guardians? I am assuming Infinite will look *better* on PC if the hardware is capable, correct?

Sorry for the silly question, I don't want to sell it if there's a use for it, but from what I can tell seems to be duplication if I already have a gaming PC, just making sure.

ND filter for "cinema" shots or just FPV? ND64 vs ND32 vs Naked...

The video above is a comparison between ND32 & ND64 in 4K30 ISO100 1/60. I'm not sure I like either one. I forgot to use LOG footage, but still. The last shots are without ND and auto settings. The shots are not identical because the wind picked up (white caps on water).

It just seems like with ND filters, it's either too bright or too dark. I also see some sets go ND8 16 32, and others go to 64 or 128. This was a bright day and ND64 look pretty muted.

I mistakenly had an ND8 on my Avata 2 last night and the footage looked just fine in the goggles but came out too dark on the PC and I'm having trouble brightening the image in Resolve. :(

I have an Avata 2 with ND filters for motion blur, I also have a Potensic Atom 2 (Mini 4K equivalent, even uses the Mini 4K ND Filters).

Just wondering if I should be using ND filters for the higher 'cinema' shots or if it's only really useful for the low FPV shots for motion blur?

Edit

I really appreciate all the criticism instead of constructive feedback. I’m glad I wasn’t looking for help and just wanted to get bashed. Mission successful.

OBVIOUSLY, from my post above I know about the 180 degree shutter rule “4K30 ISO100 1/60” and was trying do find an ND filter that allowed me to keep these settings. I understand there must be more to this as I didn’t really like either result so I clipped a quick video and asked for help. 🫠

What is the USB transfer speed of the Avata 2?

I am getting about 38MB/s when connected with a USB-C cable transferring internal storage. I was hoping this would be faster, even UHS-I is 90MB/s transfer...

I've tried a few different cables so I don't know what's going on. I also tried a couple USB ports on my PC but they are SS20 so that shouldn't be an issue.

What speeds do you get?

Stuttering videos and laggy interface?

I have a Pixel 6a and was having choppy play back trouble and recently got a Moto G Stylus 2025 and it’s doing the same thing.

Occasionally videos will be like 5fps. Sometimes it clears up on its own, sometimes I have to restart the video and sometimes I have to restart the app. I noticed this gets worse the deeper I get into a playlist but not always. Also the interface will lag, like when deleting a video from a playlist.

I have searched for a solution on here, but it seems like nobody has had this issue in the last year or so, which is pretty crazy, I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Since I’ve had this happen on two different phones, is that just the way this app is?

I also have an iPhone 17 Pro, but I don’t think I can put Revanced on that and is the only reason I have the Android phone.

Is the image sharper on a Mini 5 Pro vs Air 3S? It sure looks like it!

I just realized Reddit is compressing the pictures above so they look the same. If you go to the video I linked at 5:04 and look on 4K, it's obvious. Even with the Reddit compression, you can see the numbers on the back of the boat with the M5P but not the A3S.

I've been going back and forth between the Mini 5 Pro and Air 3S and I settled on the A3S for better wind stability and the tele lens because maybe I'll use it...

I've been watching some comparison videos and I've noticed the Mini 5 Pro looks SHARPER than the Air 3S. I know they have the same sensor, but is this the optics, processing or what? Look at the lettering, especially on the front of the boat. It's clearer on the Mini 5 Pro. Also, look at the trees in the background, also clearer on the Mini 5 Pro.

Here is the video these clips are from. What's frustrating is the reviewer says at 5:47 he sees no difference but it's obvious to me.

Moto G Stylus 2025 (3000 nits rated)not as bright as iPhone 17 Pro (1700 nits rated)

The photo isn't the best I know, but you can tell the Moto G Stylus 2025 on the bottom doesn't look any brighter than the 17 Pro on top.

I picked up a Moto G Stylus 2025 and I noticed the screen is not even as bright as my iPhone 17 Pro which is extremely surprising as the Moto rated at almost DOUBLE the brightness.

I have brightness slider at 100% and Adaptive Brightness on/off didn't seem to make a difference at the max brightness. What am I missing?

Does anyone here own the Potensic Atom 2? Is switching to DJI worth the money?

Please please please, this question post is only for people who've actually used the Potensic Atom 2. I am trying to figure out if it's worth it to go from a $210 drone to a $925 one.

I just got a Potensic Atom 2 and am trying to decide if I should get a DJI Mini 5 Pro instead. I paid $210 for the Atom 2 Fly More Combo and the M5P Fly More Combo is $925.

I know the normal comparison is to the Mini 4K, which is why I ended up with the Atom 2. Half price and has LOG, tracking, waypoints, etc. On paper it's not worth 4X the money but I really liked the way some of the shots in the videos below look and can't help but wonder *how much* better would they look if I was flying a M5P instead.

FWIW, I also bought an Avata 2 (never had any drones before two months ago and now have two), if the M5P had FPV like the M4P, I would have already bought it. I don't want to get a M4P because the price is too close to the M5P and it will frustrate me that I didn't get the better quality one with pricing that close. I doubt they will but I really wish DJI would add FPV to the M5P.

Here are a few videos I threw together quickly on my Atom 2 if you want to see (force 4K on WiFi, for some reason YT stalls my videos) night shots at the end:

Thanks for your input.

Has anyone here switched to a DJI Mini 5 Pro, was it worth it?

I have an Atom 2 and am trying to decide if I want to get a Mini 5 Pro. The image quality is definitely better but it's 4X the price. Just trying to decide if it is worth it.

Almost lost the drone, any idea what happened?

I was above the trees, I didn't see any birds and there was a bit of wind but nothing absurd. I thought it was a goner. The drone was sideways for a second.

Any idea why this happened?

Atom 2S E24 ND & Polarizer Filters?

Has anyone found a filter that will work on this redesigned E24 lens? Apparently the Mini 4K ones don’t work on this larger lens.

u/dreamliner330 — 27 days ago

Atom 2 "E24" f2.8 Lens. Has anyone compared this to the f1.8 version? "Atom 2SE?"

I see that *some* people who got the Costco version of the Atom 2 got the version where the lens says "E24" and is supposedly f2.8 and Potensic claims it has better image quality.

Does anyone here actually have this E24 version and is it better? Also have you been able to find an ND filter that works on it?

I noticed some Costco buyers also ended up with the f1.8 version so I'm not so sure what's going on or why "E24" means "f2.8". Also, technically f2.8 should have *worse* low light performance than f1.8.

I see Potensic refurb has both versions listed for sale so I'm just wondering if one is more preferred.

Atom 2 owners: Sport mode gimbal function test please.

Can you please take your Atom 2, in sport mode, set the gimbal to 0° and fly the drone forward. What happens to the gimbal? Now do the same with the gimbal at -90°.

My gimbal jumps and doesn't go back. Only in sport mode. Does yours?

The video above is a screen recording demoing this behavior. First I fly in normal mode up to 19mph. No gimbal issues. I come to a complete stop and turn on Sport mode. At around 2mph the gimbal jumps to -5°. I did not touch the gimbal control.

It will also snap from -90° to -70° as well in Sport mode.

In Normal mode I get to 19mph and the gimbal stays locked at 0°.

In Sport Mode, at less than 2mph, the gimbal snaps to -5°. It's not wind as I do it both on the same shot above and I'm going SLOWER in Sport Mode.

I do not touch the gimbal control at all in is video.

AMC started the movie EARLY and I missed the first few minutes!

The movie started at 21 minutes and I wasn't there because AMC doesn't honor their word.

I have A-List and cannot stand the insane amounts of trailers anymore so I have it timed to walk in around 20-24 minutes after show time. If I am early, I will stay outside the auditorium until the AMC thing starts playing.

I went to Backrooms that started at 2pm. I walked in at 2:23pm and the movie was already playing. I left went into another screening that started at 3pm and the movie started playing at 3:21pm!

25-30 minutes means if I arrive at 24 minutes after show time I should miss nothing. It's bad enough AMC thinks it's reasonable to ask people to sit for almost a half hour for trailers (32 minutes sometimes and once they played 25 minutes of trailers before a 45 minute IMAX documentary!!) The least they could do is be accurate with the actual movie start time.

I will now show up at 20 minutes after posted showtime and listen to music with ANC earbuds until the movie starts playing. Congrats AMC, you continue to find new ways to upset your customers. Hope that works out for you!

These “regulars” are rough…

Is it just me or are a lot of these regulars just real bad? I’m sure it’s hard to write new material all the time but some of these guys I don’t think I’ve ever heard them say something funny. Mildly humorous at best.

I’ve been watching Kill Tony in reverse and am back to episode 650. It’s to the point now where I’ll skip *most* of the openers, middle and closers.

Ari Matti is by far the best, I also really like Timmy No Brakes for some reason, lol. There are few others I like, but it just seems like at least once a month there’s a bucket pull far better than the “regulars.”

Redban is great on the soundboard and nice and awhile has some absolute zingers. It’s so interesting to see the different guests, Tony carries the show most of the time, but Adam Ray is excellent.

I really like the current band too. I like how they have theme songs for some of the different regulars.

I don’t know how far I’ll watch back, I’ve played some of those early episodes and they’re real rough. They’ve made a lot of changes over the years.

The banter in the interview portion is funnier than most of the bucket pulls which is very funny.

Trouble with Export. Huge files and video stutters on YouTube.

TL;DR: rendered videos are 3X source footage, videos micro-stutter on YouTube.

Free version Windows 11, 20.3.2B9, 9800X3D, 4080S, 64GB, NVMe

I am new to Davinci Resolve and have not edited footage in over a decade. I have watched a few tutorials on YouTube and did look at the Wiki but I am still running into a couple issues. I'd appreciate any advice.

I know I'm very new, but it seems like I am getting different results when following the same steps as guides I'm watching. I see that Resolve is incredibly powerful and am trying to learn on my own, but when I follow along and get different results I get stuck.

I've noticed my videos once rendered play perfectly fine on my PC but when I upload them to YouTube and play them back on my phone they will have micro stutters occasionally during playback. I will rewind and it will play smooth but then micro stutter somewhere else.

I can't blame my phone or YouTube necessarily because I have a 17 Pro and Wifi 7 with gigabit, so there should definitely not be a problem. This issue is also present on other phones I've tried. I have never seen this on other YouTube videos I watch so I keep thinking it's something I'm doing wrong. It's not a data loading video paused stutter, its a micro barely perceptible stutter, but it is there.

The file sizes seem really large and if I try to restrict them the quality is awful. A 45 minute TV show is 3GB, yet my 47 second clip is 2.2GB? My Avata 2 drone source clips seem to be 14mpbs (3686mb for a 4:11 clip) but the Davinci output is 46mbps (2200mb for a 0:41 clip). The audio clip I used is 3.6mb and is 2 minutes.

I've also maybe seen a bug in color correction where when I select multiple clips at the same time (they are all highlighted in orange) and adjust the Color Wheels, only the first clip I selected (it's the only one with the orange outline on the clip thumbnail) will change. The work around was to select them all, right-click the first one and click "Apply Grade" to change them all, but the guides show selecting them all should work.

Thanks.

Where to buy genuine Avata 2 batteries? I think my batteries may be counterfeit.

TOP: Battery that came with Avata 2

Middle two: Batteries I bought, came in boxes at end.

Bottom: Obvious Generic

I believe the batteries I bought (middle two) are counterfeit even though the serial number shows up in the Avata 2. The packaging looks legit and so do the batteries, but I suspect something is off.

I don't think the serial number showing is proof it's legit either because I also have a definitely generic battery that does not have any sort of serial number on the actual battery and that too shows something on the Avata 2.

I bought 2 batteries and the design on the stickers are slightly different and I could swear the flight time is not as long as my original battery. They did come sealed in "DJI" packaging.

The button doesn't always turn on the lights, once all 4 lights were blinking and once the drone wouldn't turn on with the battery.

I bought the Avata 2 batteries from https://www.ebay.com/itm/358190504468

The seller and the listing itself has good feedback. I believe the batteries may be counterfeit. Where should I get real batteries? These look real and the serial number matches, but I'm not so sure, so it seems like most people would be fooled. It just seems exceptionally strange that the labels are different and counterfeiters are getting very good.

Whoops no baddies! Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is missing a challenge...

Is this game fun with no bad guys? I was reading a review that mentioned there are no bad guys and watched a bit of gameplay footage and kinda just saw object collecting. I saw a comment about puzzles but didn’t see that in gameplay footage.

It really seems like they published this game and forgot to load the bad guys...sure there is exploration but without enemies it seems hollow.

I love platformers, Mario is my favorite. I do like Yoshi games too. Loved Captain Toad Treasure Tracker…a lot.

I don’t know what it is about Switch 2 games but I’ve been kinda striking out. I need to watch footage before buying:

I bought Kirby Air Riders knowing nothing other than ‘Kirby game.’ After watching gameplay footage and realizing it was a racing game I returned it. (my bad)

I bought DK Bananza knowing nothing other than ‘DK game.’ I got bored with the demo, even the extended play I got to do at the Nintendo truck event last year. It’s still unopened to see if my opinion changes, but it really seems like a ‘gold prospector’ game that got reskinned with DK & bananas last minute…so weird to dig around for bananas…

My Switch 2 came with MKW of course and it I don’t like it much and am already back to MK8…

I don’t always simply blind-buy games but I’ve always been able to trust Mario, Kirby, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Zelda, etc. Plus I like collecting and Nintendo/retailers used to do those free giveaways on launch day so I usually grabbed a game I figured I’d like with the intention to get around to it. Admittedly this has lead to an enormous backlog.

I don’t like Pokémon games at all, just not my thing.

Also not a fan of padded out games so I passed on Mario Luigi Brothership. Seems like an awesome 10 hour game stuck inside 40 hours of backtracking. That’s part of the appeal of Yoshi for me, after I finish the game I’m usually wanting more…which is why I’ve always viewed Yoshi as a safe bet. For me a shorter tighter game is highly preferable over a longer drawn out one.

I say all this to ask what I’m missing on Yoshi. I never thought I’d be asking this at all. If Nintendo had a free DLC to add bad guys back into the game, would you seriously not want it?

SMB Freezes during copy for a few seconds. 100% CPU usage.

I have Unraid 7.2.3 on a 265K, LSI 9305-16i, a handful of disks in XFS and a few NVME's. When copying files from a NVME share to the XFS array I noticed video playback from the same NVME would occasionally freeze and Explorer would lock up as well, and the copy seems to freeze Then a few seconds later, it continues as if nothing happened.

I just looked today on the unRAID dashboard and when this happens a few of cores will be pegged at 100%. What on earth is going on?

Edit

I meant XFS.
