BOTW S1 + Upgrade or S2 version?
TL;DR: I’m stuck between selling my opened S1 version of BOTW for $40 and opening my S2 version or returning the S2 version for $70+tax and just buying the S2 upgrade for $7. Yes seriously.
I’m also wondering the storage/performance difference on the Switch 2 in both scenarios. If the S1 version downloads the upgrade, does that run faster than running off the card from the S2 version? (Internal storage has been shown to be faster than cartridge).
I own both BOTW & TOTK, I've played a bit of BOTW. When I got a Switch 2, I returned my sealed copy of TOTK and bought the Switch 2 version of both games, still sealed.
For some reason I'm torn between selling the opened version of BOTW and having the Switch 2 version of both, or returning that Switch 2 version of BOTW and buying the upgrade which is on sale now for $7.
I don't have NSO and it makes sense to just get the upgrade, but I kinda want the newer packaging on the shelf.
I'm very slow to play the games but quick to buy. Both Switch 2 versions are still sealed so I'm thinking "Why should I keep a game I could return for $70+tax vs keep an opened one I could sell for $40, but pay $7 for the upgrade instead."
I have already swapped the Switch 1 for Switch 2 versions of TOTK, Mario Wonder, Metroid 4 & Kirby Forgotten Land, returning the unopened S1 versions. I do have the S2 version of BOTW but haven't opened it.
If they came out with a S2 version of Mario Odyssey, I would NOT get it because the S2 upgrade is free...unless it had extra content.
Such a stupid point to get stuck on, it's 100% the collectibility aspect for sure.
