What were some "a-ha" moments in your surf progression

as a kook recently realized something as simple as seeing there can be a tiny bit of steep unbroken wave at the base of the whitewash in the closed out section ahead that can be pumped thru/around to the next section, made me wonder what kinds of realizations y'all have had over the years addicted to this godforsaken sport

Feedback/tips for generating speed in small waves?

sup bros, suck ass at surfing and am really just focused on maxxing speed/fun on my local‘s shitty small mushy waves

looking for feedback/tips on pumping/generating speed, as I’ve found I seem to either be pumping near the bottom half of the wave not generating much speed nor able to climb to the top, or conversely succeeding in carving to the top of the wave but feeling stalled/stuck at the top in like max compression (eg last turn in the vid) and not knowing how to resume pumping at that position.

appreciation in advance for any kook tips
