People are just dumb sometimes.

People are just dumb sometimes.

This person complained that our restaurant charged $2.50 to split an entree.

When this is done, the chefs half the protein, but completely double up on both of the sides. If the protein comes in a set of 3 (like fish & chips or 3 tacos) then we add one more. Its a crazy good deal, people usually have praise to give when their food arrives, not a complaint that their $2.50 was poorly spent.

Our dishes range from $39-95.

I honestly never even mention the cost when I split things for guests. I tried out doing that for a couple shifts and literally no one cared and most were just kinda insulted id ask them if they minded paying $2.50.

Edit: you all just saying I should let people know did you read my post? I tried that and it went poorly. Even management doesnt want us telling people about the cost unless they ask.

And I should mention; there are plenty of times in thr past 6 years I have decided to inform a party of the cost, if they've already been price concious by even the smallest degree.

If they hesitate I do kick into seller mode and let them know, "You will be surprised, everybody is happy with their split meals." Say it confidently and it lands no joke 100% of the time.

I nessed up and used sr17 for 2 months.. now i got some 2.0

So obviously I fucked up.

I have a 7oh habit.

Ive detoxed from it cold turkey without sr 6 or 7 times.

This last run ive been using 7oh ebery other day and sr on my off days. Only 100mg the days I do use 7oh.

Ive caught myself in this loop because I experience no wd due to being preloaded on sr.

I just got 30 tablets of 2.0

I plan on using it to detox from sr.

Today is my last day on 7. How should I schedule the taper? Im comfortable only taking 100mg every 12 hours right now.

James Holden is an epicly written/acted character, my favorite moment for him is s3e12

Up to s3e12 spoilers ahead

James Holden will never be a favorite character of mine like Drummer, Amos, or Show Ashford could be. But I think as far as writing characters goes, they did an excellent job with jim. ^jimwasatypobutileftit.

His self righteousness is exhausting. But his pride is intertwined with it in such a perfect way by the writers that it somehow never comes off as completely egotistical. And he actually is at the center of what is happening so 🤷

.

In the scene, Holden is being held in a cell on the Behemoth, across from Clarissa Mao. Naomi comes down to visit him in his cell.

He explains everything hes beem through on the station to her as Clarissa eavesdrops on their conversation.

Naomi, "Youre not responsible for this."

Holden, "Yes. I am. Its talking to me, not talking to anyone else. I wish it would, but its not. I have to figure out what it wants, im the only one who can.

Naomi, "its going to destroy you."

Holden, "It doesn't matter."

I dunno for some reason that exchange really hits home for Holden to me. Up until this point im usually pretty frustrated with him, annpyed by his self rightousness.. but in an agreeable kind of way. But everything he says here is true, and he really is the only one who can do anything to help. The recent trauma hes experienced and how he visibly is wearing it as he has this conversation just makes it more meaningful.

As he talks it cuts to Clarissa a couple times to show her digesting his words. Its the first time she starts to turn the page as a character and its written all over her face.

Such a great show.

Edit: im high af when I wrote this and going back and editing it I realized i kinda said the same thing twice but im leaving that, too.

Been on SR for a month and a half. I fucked up :(

I messed up and realized that SR makes it easy to detox from 7. So over the past month ive used 7oh every other day and SR everyday

I am worried about the SR withdrawals now. Im currently on day 3 no 7oh and feeling okay. I have a bunch of suboxone and have successfully used it as a short bridge to detox from 7oh before, so i plan on using it to help with the SR withdrawal.

Can it cause precipitated withdrawal from SR? How long do I need to wait? Im not trying to go through that.

Thank you!

The set design is amazing with cinematography that somehow avoids cheesiness.

Scifi and cheesiness go hand and hand. Its not always a bad thing, sometimes it works. When it does it usually turns off a large chunk it potential viewers, making it more niche.

Im rewatching the series after having listened to the books. Im just so impressed by the set designs. Even if its only an area used once, its flushed out with small details (when appropriate), the lighting is always on point, each set has so much character - whether its a lucury yacht or a rock hopper.. I never have an issue believing thats where they say they are.

The acting has a huge role in this too.. man this show is just so good.

None of my friends have watched the show so I have no where to circle jerk about it 😭

What % of Federal employees with security clearances are lose lipped with their husbands/wives?

Loose*

Genuinely curious about this. I imagine it would be quite difficult to keep everything to yourself, especially traumatic events.

Initially I was just curious about how often people shared things because they were under a lot of stress or whatever but the more I think about it I wonder if there are people out there that get home and just talk about classified stuff like its their shopping list.

Annie Jacobson credits Tim Dillon in her new book

In her new book, Biological Warfare: A Scenario, she has a nurse character who is fictional but seems to be based off of a real person. She says she learns about something on the Tim Dillon podcast. Its funny, its kinda out of place you can tell she did it because she likes the show :)

Im listening to the book so the timestamp is Part Three: Once its here its already to late, 1h10m in. Or, 5h12m left in the book.

Ultra realistic Edward Kenway Statue will be available to buy next year

I just learned a lot more about statues than I ever thought I would learn about statues.

The statue is 43 inches tall and weighs about 42lbs. I will not be buying one. If youre going to work that hard to make something this realistic looking, why not make it full scale?!

I mean I'm not a statue collector, but if I was (I'm not) I dont think I'd be as stoked on a half size version of my 2nd favorite pirate as the idea of a full size one.

Especially considering it'll cost $2,999.

M/37/6'02" [208 > 210 = 2lbs] (.5months). I quit gas station heroin (7oh/kratom)

Edit: i realize the difference is minimal, but to me its huge. Ive always tried to take care of myself physically and mentally, and although the physical change was mild compared to most of you legends on this sub, the mental shift was massive.

I was an idiot and got deep into abusing kratom. Over the past 6 months I was using it every other day. My workouts turned to shit, and life was depressing as hell. Not the sub for that kind of story so I made ill as brief as possible hah.

I quit on the 12th and was in the gym (struggling with withdrawals bad) on the 3rd day off the stuff. Ive gone everyday since, some days twice. Ive also been surfing again - i quit since starting to use kratom - and meditating every night.

Doing my best to get 200g of protein a day and eat whole foods.

Im really hoping to stay on this path. Good luck to all of you out there struggling. Addiction is the worst.

Day 15 really bargaining for one more

I quit 7oh 15 days ago, I was using every other day. I felt normal by day 6, it wasnt nearly as bad of a detox as the last one i did where I used daily for 6 months, but still was horrible and mentally exhausting/painful.

Im doing well physically and sleeping well. When im busy and aocial im fine, but sitting around waoting for my shift to start after the gym, surfing, and walking my dog, my brain goes wild with cravings.

Its saying, "just today you'll be fine tomorrow." I swear i feel like I have no control and im jist going to end up buying some. Every other day until now ive had a relatively easy time squashing cravings.

Hello: any advice?

Over the past two months ive gone 2 days on 40 hours off rotations. The past week has been 1 day on then 40 hours off then one day on. Im currently tapering my total dose each day I use.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of quitting? Ive done cold turkey before and the symptoms always show up around 15 hours off.

On my 40 hour breaks I have some anxiety but no RLS. I sleep a decent 6-8 hours the first night off (30-36 hours since last dose)

Am I in for a rough crash?

What are your experiences with mild withdrawal?

Ive been using 7oh every other day (about 40 hours between daily intakes.

I make it through the first night with broken sleep, usually get about 6-8 hours although in chunks rather than sleeping through the night.

Im currently doing a taper where im reducing my intake by 1/4 each day.

Do any of you have experience that sounds similar to this?

Matthew James Sullivan died of, "an accidental drug overdose from multiple medications."

The drugs were: Xanax, an anti-anxiety medication; cyclobenzaprine, a muscle relaxant, and alcohol. Alcohol and xanax alone can be lethal. Throw in a muscle relaxer too and thats even less respiratory drive.

His interview was scheduled in the coming weeks. Apparently he was likely one of the first hand witnesses Grusch had mentioned.

Whether this is foul play related or not, its going to shake the foundations of any would-be-whistleblowers that were planning on coming forward anytime soon.

Rest in peace, MJS. Best to your family.

This sucks. Fuck.
