How do I fully transition my picky kitten to 100% dry food when she refuses bowls and only eats wet food squeezed from my hand?

Hey everyone, looking for advice on transitioning my young kitten (12 weeks) fully onto dry kibble.

Her stomach recently stabilized on Whiskas Tuna Jelly (split into 4 small meals a day), but getting her to eat dry food on her own has been really tricky.

The Situation:

She refuses to eat from bowls/plates: She ignores food placed in a bowl, but she eagerly eats when I hand-feed her or squeeze wet food directly from the pouch.

She only nibbles dry food overnight: I leave dry kibble out overnight, and she only eats about 10–15 pieces while I'm asleep. During the day, she completely ignores plain dry food and holds out for wet pouches.

The "Sneak" Method Works: If I press 5-10 dry kibble pieces directly into the top of her wet food pouch so they get coated in jelly, she eats and crunches them without an issue. But if the kibble is separate or plain, she won't touch it.

My Goal:

I want to transition her completely onto a 100% dry kibble diet.

For anyone who has dealt with a kitten that only wants hand-fed wet pouches, how did you bridge the gap to get them eating standalone dry kibble consistently? Any tips on breaking the pouch-feeding habit and encouraging them to eat crunchy food on their own?

Thanks in advance!

8-Week-Old Kitten with 15-Day Chronic Yellow Diarrhea – Good Energy & Appetite, But Meds Aren't Working. What do I do now?

Hi everyone,

I really need some guidance. I am feeling incredibly stressed trying to get my 8 week-old female kitten healthy. She has been suffering from chronic diarrhea for 15 days straight, and nothing seems to stop it.

Her Stool:It is consistently a creamy, mustard-yellow, unformed, mushy, and liquid puddle.

Her Energy & Appetite (The Good News):Despite having diarrhea for nearly 3 weeks, she is surprisingly very active, playful, and running around normally. She has a great appetite, loves her food, and is keeping her fluids up.

Her Current Diet:She mostly eats wet food and boiled chicken breast . I make sure she gets plenty of moisture to prevent dehydration.

Medications She Has Received So Far:

1 - Dewormer (First dose completed).

2 - Lomotil (Anti-diarrheal).

3 - Pre Pro Lac Syrup (Probiotic).

4 - Antifungal Syrup (For a separate skin issue causing flaky skin and hair loss).

5 - Felilysine Paste (Immune supplement - currently paused to protect her stomach).

What do I do now?Even with all of these medications, her stool is not firming up at all. Because she is so small and has been sick for so long, I am terrified of her suddenly crashing or losing her energy.Given that she is playful and eating well but has yellow, mushy diarrhea for 15 days, what could we be missing?

I want to do right by her and get her gut healed. Any advice on what steps to take next would mean the world to me. Thank you.

Title: ASUS TUF F15 died again just 2 days after a ₹5,000 motherboard repair. Is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I have an ASUS TUF F15 that suddenly stopped turning on. There was no charging light, no power light completely dead. A local repair shop diagnosed it as a motherboard short circuit and repaired it for ₹5,000.

The laptop worked fine for only 2 days, but today it suddenly shut down while I was using it. Now it's showing the exact same symptoms as before: no charging LED, no power, completely dead.

I took it back to the repair shop. They said if it's the same issue, they won't charge me again, but if it's a different fault, I'll have to pay extra.

My questions are:

\- Is it common for a motherboard to fail again just 2 days after a repair?

\- Could this still be related to the original repair, even if they say it's a different component?

\- What components could cause these exact symptoms besides a motherboard short circuit (Power IC, charging IC, MOSFETs, etc.)?

\- Should I trust the repair shop if they ask for more money, or should I get a second opinion?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's dealt with a similar issue, especially with an ASUS TUF F15.

Thanks!

5-week-old kitten not eating after vet visit - should I be worried?

Hi everyone,

I brought home a kitten about 24 hours ago. The seller said she's around 35 days old.

On the first day she ate a little, drank water, and used the litter box (both pee and poop). This morning she stopped eating, so I took her to a vet.

The vet said her body temperature was low, gave her an injection, and prescribed VentriPro Kitten (to feed twice a day). The vet also suggested giving small amounts of curd and paneer.

Now we're back home. She has slept a lot, wakes up every couple of hours, drinks water, pees, and seems alert when awake. However, she still won't eat properly.

Today I tried:

  • VentriPro (she refused)
  • Softened dry kitten food (refused)
  • Dry kitten food (she ate only 2-3 bites and then walked away)

She isn't vomiting, and she's still using the litter box.

My questions are:

  1. Is it normal for a kitten this young to eat so little after moving to a new home and after a vet visit?
  2. Should I keep offering small meals every 2-3 hours, or should I contact the vet again today?
  3. Any tips to encourage her to eat?

I'm a first-time kitten owner, so I'm quite worried. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Anyone Been to Govt Vet Hospital, Subhash Nagar?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to take my new kitten to the Government Veterinary Hospital in Subhash Nagar (near Chandrabani Chowk) for a general health checkup.

Has anyone been there recently?

I wanted to know:

- Is the checkup free or is there a consultation fee?

- If there's a fee, roughly how much is it?

- How has your experience been with the doctors there for kittens?

Any tips before visiting would also be appreciated. Thanks!

Thinking of getting a cat while living in a rented room need advice from cat owners

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about adopting a cat, but I currently live in a rented single room, so I wanted to get some advice from people who have experience.

A few questions:

My room doesn't get direct sunlight. Is that okay for a cat, or does it need sunlight throughout the day?

If I take the cat outside safely for 20–30 minutes every morning, would that be enough, or is direct sunlight in the room important?

Approximately how much do you spend per month on one healthy indoor cat? (Food, litter, grooming, etc.)

How much do vaccinations and annual vet checkups usually cost?

Is it okay to keep a cat in a single room if I play with it every day and keep the environment enriching?

Are there any hidden expenses or responsibilities that first-time cat owners usually don't think about?

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have raised cats in hostels, PGs, or small apartments.

Thanks in advance! 🐱

Need recommendations for affordable Muay Thai training

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking of starting Muay Thai and wanted to know if there are any good classes in or around Clement Town. I'm a complete beginner and looking for something that's beginner-friendly and budget-friendly.

If anyone has recommendations for gyms, coaches, or academies nearby (or within a reasonable distance), I'd really appreciate it. Also, if you know the approximate monthly fees, that would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Looking for genuine 1TB external HDD

Need suggestions for a reliable 1TB external HDD under ₹6000.

I was planning to buy WD Elements or Toshiba Canvio, but unfortunately they are not deliverable to Dehradun on most online stores like flipkart/amazon.

Can anyone suggest:

- other reliable brands/models under 6k

- any trusted offline shops in Dehradun where I can get genuine HDDs

- or good online stores that deliver here

Main use: backups, movies, and general storage. Reliability is more important than speed.

Also please don’t suggest brands like Kingster, UnionSine, or similar lesser-known options looking for something dependable with decent long-term reliability.

Thanks!
