Adjunct Professor in NY, what are the new rules of work? Confusion
Hi, so I guess I’ve been living under a rock cause I got a text today from NY state health market about the new work requirements.
I make roughly 13 thousand per semester, but my semesters are not guaranteed either. I finished grad school in May 2025 and have been adjuncting since while looking for full time work.
I’m also having surgery later this year, which is not covered under the essentials plan of NY of course.
Why did NY wait so long to inform people of all this. They still haven’t sent letters about what individuals are affected…
From reading here I understand I think it’s 580 dollars per month you have to earn to be eligible? Is that correct?
I just renewed it in June this year with NY, now all of a sudden they’re gonna cut people off?
