How to reward good behaviour when dog is left alone?

My dog, who’s now one and a half years old, has been struggling with being left alone since I just finished school and have been home a lot in the past few months (especially barking and whining)
He used to be able to do 5-6 hours no problem, now he’ll whine after 10 minutes or so! Theres multiple factors contributing to this at the moment which I won’t get into now but we’ve been training staying alone again so my pup can be at peace even alone and my poor neighbours don’t have to hear him whine when I leave for an hour

I’ve set up a camera in my room where he’s staying to practice for now and I see him finally lay down with his eyes slowly falling shut. He won’t fully sleep but at least he seems very calm, which I think is a huge step in the right direction!
How do I reward this good behaviour? I want to encourage him to stay calm like this. Can I make him understand that whining or barking won’t bring me back but that being calm makes things easier for both of us??

I’ve thought about walking in, tossing a treat without a word in leaving. However this might be a bad idea because he’ll get all excited again and start whining once I leave

I’ve also tried speaking into the camera, he just starts whining when he was doing so well before…

How do I encourage this calm behaviour?? I really want him to do well because I’m starting my job in September which means he’ll be alone for around 5 hours again….

How did you make fetch exciting for your dog?

I have a 1.5 year old Amstaff mix, and although hes a terrier I simply can’t seem to get him excited for fetch.

He does enjoy chasing but he enjoys being chased much more! He thrives when I throw the ball and then pretend to want to catch him, immediately activates his zoomies

I’ve tried sooo many times, so many treats later he still doesn’t want to retrieve the ball so I can throw it again. I think he’s more excited to be running around on his 50ft leash than for playing with his ball (or any other toy I’ve tried this with)

We have a neighbors dog he plays with who lovesss fetch and whenever he runs after his ball, my dogs so excited to run after him. Doesn’t care about the toy at all, only chasing after his friend

I’ve kind of accepted it by now, I know what he likes instead so I’ll adjust and play with him that way but does anyone else also have a medium/high energy dog that doesnt like fetch? Did it stay that way and were you able to excite them for it in some way??

New player here: what is “advanced equipment”…

As the title says- I’m a new player (technically returning from 1.3 but have a new acc and know nothing) and I’m so lost with the startup guide in currency wars

This is probably gonna be so easy but in chapter 2 of the guide one mission says “ use equipment Tracking to synthesize 5 pieces of advanced equipment in total”

I just can’t seem to figure out how to do it- I’ll use equipment tracking on three characters, see which equipment they need and then give them the two minor components needed to get the better equipment. Because of the tracking it then shows me which character to put the equipment on, I click ✅ and it gets added to the corresponding character. The number in the guide stays at 0 out of 5, so..

Is this not what “synthesizing advanced equipment” through equipment tracking is ??

I’m sure I’ll sound stupid to most of you but I’m really lost and don’t want to spend more time figuring it out

Is Citlali worth it?

Currently I play Lohen with Durin, Bennett, Albedo

Sadly I don’t have Nicole but I know Citlali is a part of his premium team- is she worth pulling for? I really don’t like her character, this would be the first time I pull for a character I don’t like purely because of the dmg for a character I love (Lohen)

I heard she’s also really good for mavuika so I’ll have two characters I frequently play that she can support

I’m quite satisfied with my Lohen team dmg for now, brings me through most endgame content and open world but ofc it hasn’t reached its full potential by far and I know having Citlali and Nicole would make things much better

So- how worth it is she? Would putting Citlali in the team make a huge difference for Lohen especially but also others like mavuika etc??

If it’s not gonna be that much of a difference I might aswell save up for a character I actually like

Can I still improve my skirk build?

This is my skirk- sometimes I feel like she hasn’t hit her full potential just yet, is it truly only possible with escoffier??
Sadly I don’t have her, I’ll usually play skirk with shenhe, Mona, sucrose/qiqi

I was thinking of sacrificing some crit dmg for more crit rate but is there anything else I should do?
her Talents are 9/10/10 and she’s c0 btw

Leaving my teenage dog alone is awful, pls advise

If there is one thing I’m so tired of is that I just can’t seem to make my teenage dog be able to be alone again

We had our problems when he was a puppy but I had to go to school, my family had to go to work, eventually it worked out just fine and we were able to leave him alone at home 5-6 hours a day no problem.

However, I’m currently graduating and don’t have class anymore so the past ~2/3 months I’ve been at home more and more. My dog (1 year old amstaff) is not used to being alone anymore and we’re back to square one.
At this point he’ll start to howl/bark for a bit after maybe 1 hour

In the last few weeks I’ve been leaving him alone again. I either leave the house a bit if I have something to do or leave him in my room (where he also sleeps) and go to the living room

I started out slow again, just like when we first practiced being alone, worked my way up to 1-2 hours but I feel like I’m stuck

He won’t eat his bully stick or touch his treat ball.
I have to physically block the door with a chair because he managed to open it once and now realised he’s able to open the door whenever he wants.

He’ll tear my jackets from the door by jumping against it and start to howl at 1 hour and then 1 1/2 hours into being alone (almost the same everytime)

This is what I do before leaving him alone:
We always go for a 20 minute walk. it’s non structured, he can go sniff the whole time and we do some tricks outside.
After that we go inside and I throw his kibble either into his box of toys so he has to dig around and sniff it out/problem solve by taking big toys out of the box.

Then we go to my room, I hide some treats in his treat ball and give him a bully stick. I turn on the TV and fan and then close the door and leave.

When I return I wait until he sits, calmly greet him and then go do my thing.

Note: I would do more like go for a run/ long 1 hour walk but it’s just not really realistic for me to do everyday when I start my job in 2 months. What I do now has always been enough for him before, and I don’t mean as a puppy I mean as he already gotten older.

Also another note: there are days where he’s alone for 1 1/2 hours and he’s fine, barely any howling. Then there are days when he’s already jumping and howling after 10 minutes and won’t calm down- should I just stop and try again later/next day when that happens? Or power through anyway?

What am I doing wrong? Is there anything else I can try? Was I too fast with the duration of leaving him alone? It’s worked so well in the past, any non judgmental good advice greatly appreciated 🙏

First time watercolor portrait pls advise

Soo this is my first attempt at painting a portrait/ a human in general with watercolors.
I’m still new at this, I’ve painted a few landscapes before but that’s it

I do like how it turned out but it feels kind of flat? It looks like it’s missing something

Does anyone have any advice on how to add more depth? Like how to paint shadows more properly on skin and clothing?

Also side note: I’m aware that the anatomy looks off haha I think it’s the neck

Durins artifacts for supporting Lohen?

So I keep seeing everyone say that the rising winds set is the best set for durin, even when talking about support Durin.
wouldn’t the new celestial gifts set be way better though?

Especially when playing Durin as a support for Lohen- the set gives 20% elemental dmg bonus + 40% elemental dmg bonus when playing a hexerei team, which you would be doing with the two of them

Can anyone tell me which set they use with the two of them and why??

(Btw, I’m only talking about Durin here, I know rising winds is the best for Lohen)

Yeast infection under paws

My dog, who’s now one year old, has been having a yeast infection ever since the snow started to melt early this year

We’ve noticed this due to him licking his paws a lot and even biting into them/ on his nails
Because of the timing we thought it must be due to the rock salt etc they put onto roads to make the ice melt, then we went to the emergency vet during easter who said it was an allergy- but it doesn’t seem to be

After going to our regular vet he said it wasn’t an allergy as he showed no other signs of it in his eyes, ears, mouth etc but most likely a yeast infection.

To clarify- he doesn’t show any signs of it in his ears, on his belly etc, only between/ under his paw pads

So now we have shampoo( Malaseb®) for him to be washed with every week, and his paws specifically 2-3 times a week.

I feel so bad for him, he keeps licking at his paws, one paw specifically, and the other day he even walked differently because of it. I know the shampoo will help eventually with the core of the problem but it doesn’t lesser the symptoms just yet-

Is there anything I can do to help my pup not have to lick/bite his paw(s) all the time from pain or itching??

(We’ve tried sage/ chamomile tea baths, it doesn’t help for long)

Why do comments under my post disappear?

So I’ve made a view posts and sometimes there’s a few comments that seem to just disappear.

I’ll have a notification pop up but when I click on it I’ll see other comments but not the one I clicked on, *while the notification still remains in the reddit Notification Center*.
This has happened a few times now, is this a problem with my app or has the comment simply been deleted?

Once, I looked up the user name to look at their comment history but even then it won’t show the comment they made under my post. I’ve seen [deleted by moderator] under some of them so I’m assuming I could still trace the ones I’m looking for if they’d been deleted by the moderator so basically what I’m asking for is

Has that happened to anyone else as much too? It’s quite frequent for me- is the only explanation the user deleting their own comment?

IMPORTANT REMINDER to Stop comparing your dog to others.

At least in case you do:

There are so many people on this side of reddit (me included) feeling like trash when they see other well trained dogs and constantly ask themselves- “why can’t my dog be like that?” “What am I doing wrong?”

Only today did I get proof of the fact that comparing your dog to other dogs or owners is never the answer.
Whatever dog you see on a walk- you truly never know how they actually are, even if they look perfect in insta reels, training tutorials or outside on a walk-
No dog is ever perfect!

That off leash dog that seemingly only has eyes on the owner and the ball, not reacting at all to you or your dog? They might be ball obsessive and behave very differently without that toy.

That angel of a dog always walking on a loose leash and performing pretty tricks even around people and dogs? They might have a completely different trigger than your dog and still be considered reactive.

Those dogs over there playing with each other all happily and fair? They might only play because they’ve grown up together and can’t interact with any other dog.

That dog you see laying down in public around so many distractions? At home they might bark every time they hear as much as a person walking by.

Nothing about any other dogs behavior that you see as “picture perfect” says anything about who they are in their daily life. The chunk you see of strangers should not be what makes your feel jealous or disappointed in your own dog/ self.
You might hear this a lot on the internet but at the end of the day it truly is “train the dog in front of you, not the dog you wish you had”.

Owning a reactive dog is hard all on its own, I know that much. Comparing will only make it worse.

Have a nice day <3

My dog comes off way too excited/ hot headed

So my American staffordshire Terrier mix turned 1 this year (15 months) and what we struggle with the most is his excitement around other dogs.

We know what caused it, we’ve worked with a trainer to help his excitement based behavior and it’s already improved a lot!
However I feel like during the past few months we’ve been stuck and although it has already gotten better, it doesn’t continue to improve anymore.

By now we can pass most dogs without him making too much fuss but he’s still way too interested in them. When we do meet a neighbors dog for example he immediately goes full play and excited mode, jumping around, trying to paw or jump them to play which, for obvious reasons, many dogs (and owners) don’t like.

He’s able to calm down almost immediately once I tell him “let’s go” and we leave but anything before that is just not it.

I’m aware this is partly due to his breed and age. Amstaffs are very much the body slamming type, they love to play rough and aren’t good with personal space. Also yes at this age he’s still in puberty and quite playful

I know he’ll calm down eventually but there has to be something I can do now to manage his excitement/interest around other dogs!!

Edit:
this is what I’ve already done in training:

impulse control
-> we work on it everyday like him waiting for his release word when playing fetch, getting treats, greeting people and dogs.

Correct behavior when around dogs
-> he has a collar and a harness. His leash is always clipped to this harness, when walking by other dogs we also clip it to the collar to keep control of him or correct him with a slight upwards pull to the collar. He now knows that when he’s on the collar he doesn’t get to greet anyone and walks beside me.

->simply co existing with other dogs he knows without playing (still working on that)

-> no/ barely greeting dogs we don’t already know

Nicole or durin??

So i’m planning on planning on playing lohen with venti in my team just because I lovee both of them.

This is why I was thinking pulling for durin would be the better decision. As far as I know he’s an awesome support for both/hexerei characters in general

Now, with everything I’ve seen about Nicole I’m not sure anymore, would she be a better fit? What’s the difference in durin / Nicole as a support for my hexerei team?

How do I pair my One for all remote to my LG tv?

So I got a new remote, it’s the one for all OFA streamer remote urc 7935.

I tried connecting it to my LG tv, which is supposed to be supported and has like 8 different codes listed but none of them work! At least not properly

My tv does respond to them, however only the volume button, power button and the input button work

The ring, “ok”, “back” etc none of those work!

I also tried the simple set up method that’s supposed to work without the code but it just leads to the same result and I don’t have another remote to use the “learning feature”

Is there any saving this?? Someone please help🏃🏃
