Age/sex?

Adopted a few laying hens and one came with 3 babies! I’m leaning too with this one as it’s got thick legs but no clue what breed or age. Any thoughts! Just for fun???

Update on the twins

After a split second decision to adopt my beautiful girls brother I’m adjusting quite well to kittens! They’re adorable and just so loving. It’s been 2 weeks and I can’t believe how good they’re being with my two toddlers and mostly vice versa lol.

Diana on the left and brother Rupert on the right. They’re 3 months old. He’s much cuddlier than her but I can tell she wants to be but is giving it time. They’re apeshit at night though will this be forever haah

Loving being a kitten mama. Any extra loving tips appreciated.

Do I miss a full ccb

Stupidly did taxes late and missed Julys payment. It says I have a payment coming Aug 6 but didn’t mention Aug 20 which is the normal payment day.

Is this my late July payment? Or is this augusts early?

Lesson learned here but would like help figuring this out

I DOUBLED UP

Thanks so much to everyone who answered my last post about adopting a kitten after my pup passed and how I should double up. Your very unanimous advice was taken haha!!

Please meet Rupert (left) & Diana (right). When I went to go get my original (and only) kitten, Rupert who is her bio brother was completely wrapped in her. It was a sign.

I can’t begin to express my love for them 😭 just feel like they are meant to be here. I’ve nicknamed them the twins. My toddlers love them and today the feeling has become mutual! They’ve been playing together all morning. We’re on day two and as of now they are staying in my room to settle. Although they’re getting VERY comfortable fast. Our house is semi under construction and there are a lot of hiding places. I would LOVE any advice how to prevent them hiding on me in the walls or wherever though I think I know the answer lol

Night 1 they crammed themselves behind my bed then hid in the closet. Night 2 (last night) I felt a few times they popped up on my bed, but they still run if I try to hold one. Any habits/tips on how to make them love on me once they’re 100% comfortable?!

Thanks again for all the replies it really made the decision much easier ❤️

First kitten tomorrow morning

I (34f) lost my sweet chihuahua and companion of 13 years this summer.

I took my girls (1 and 4) to drop off her bed and and some food and supplies we had to our shelter and of course we went in and then of course I fell in love with a little kitten. The girls were both so gentle too. I took the plunge because even though I know I don’t feel ok about replacing my dog, bringing in a new baby who needs a home that’s different I feel really excited about.

I grew up with cats all my life but never had one myself as an adult. I’d love to hear every piece of advice anyone could offer. I want to keep her downstairs and indoors. She’s only 2m, and very shy. Want to go slow to let her know she’s home here.

Edit.. she has a brother at the shelter but I only intended to get one. So I double up?!

Adoption process at humane society

What’s the process like? We are interested in a cat and my hearts now set on her. Does it take a few hours to hear back - days? Weeks? Fingers crossed.

Brackley/rustico with toddlers

Gonna be a chillier day tomorrow and we’re camping with our 1 and 3yo. Doesn’t look like a pool day - does anyone have suggestions of things to do around this area??

Jamie update

My sweet senior chihuahua was relieved from her pain today. My heart is broken but I hope she is finally at peace.

u/georgesteacher — 2 months ago

I think it’s time to say goodbye

Heart feels heavy and I feel horrible even saying it but I really think my 13yo chihuahua is telling me it’s time. Battled with IVDD the last year and now this week lost bladder control and mobility.
Last night she howled for hours in a way I’ve never heard -shaking and staring at me with the widest eyes. We were going to do another 8 weeks of crate rest but I see now she doesn’t have it in her.

Please no judgement. I am going to call my vet first thing. This is so hard.

Do all vets euthanize?

My sweet senior pup has stage 4 IVDD and is in immense pain. I don’t think either of us can do this anymore. I’d like to reconsider the treatment plan and put her to rest so she can be at peace.

Will my regular vet do this or do not all clinics offer this? Also will this be an awkward conversation to have/will she talk me out of it? It’s already the worst thing in the world seeing her this way. I’d like to do it tomorrow if possible.

Just looking for experiences or advice. Thanks.

When do you let go

My girl spent 8 weeks last summer crate resting after her first IVDD episode. Winter was long and limited and now this week she went from stage 2 to 4 (almost 5) and has to do another 8 weeks in the crate. Another entire summer.

She’s 13. I know crate rest can be effective but Jamie has lost all mobility in legs and bladder function. Vet quoted less than 50% chance it will return.

Watching my dogs life be so crappy is killing me. I know she MIGHT walk again and life MAY get better after being locked up another 2 months but at what point do I say enough?

13yo diagnosed stage 4

Baby girl was diagnosed today after losing her ability to walk suddenly earlier this week We are not going with surgery, we can’t afford it and I also just fear it won’t help enough esp at her age.

Any positive stage 4 stories without surgery? Or actually id like to hear even the negative. I just want a realistic picture. Thanks

Did they never walk again?

This is a little dark but I only ever hear the positive stories. Without surgery after crate rest did some of your puppies never recover?

We are in a situation where surgery is not an option. Dog has lost complete function of back legs. She was on strict crate rest last summer from her first IVDD flare up and now we’re starting another 8 weeks.

Another full summer in a crate. I can’t stomach it and want to hear everyone’s stories.
