Normalizing corruption through dramas

I’ve noticed how politics is a centre of MANYYY Pakistani dramas. Corrupt politics and corrupt politicians. For many years we are watching these dramas that have corrupt politicians either as the villain character or someone related to the main characters. I’m starting to think that it’s less about raising awareness on how dirty politics works and more about normalizing all of it. Take example of Hollywood action movies. They show SO MUCH action in their action movies that it’s very normal for their audiences. They don’t bat an eye on owning guns or weapons. School shooting is a casual every other day thing wahan py. Same goes for Pakistan. Corrupt politics is a normal everyday thing here and everyone lives with it even though they don’t support it. Corruption exists in every sector and at every level. Is making dramas and highlighting it effective in raising awareness against it? NO! its a way of normalizing it all.

How to benefitpay Hamad Town Charity

I want to contribute some money for Mr. Abdulameer Abdulla Kadhem Abbas's medical equipment and rehabilitation but I can’t figure out how to. In benefitpay app there is Fawateer+ and also the option to send to charity. And in both we get Hamad Town charity society. But then there is option to select if it’s “family sponsorship, orphan sponsorship, charitable campaigns, sadaqat, ramadan donation, treatment” I selected treatment and it asks me to name the bill and enter phone number. I entered my number then proceeded to next page and it asked me the amount. I entered the amount I was gonna contribute but it didn’t show a typing box to write the description as I have to mention that it’s for “Mr. Abdulameer Abdulla Kadhem Abbas's medical equipment and rehabilitation” So I stopped the process because I got confused. Can anyone navigate me through how to do it? I saw it in the local news channel on instagram and really wanted to contribute but it’s my first time using benefitpay for this purpose so I need some guidance. If anyone of you has donated please let me know.

Let’s curate a playlist.

As Bahrain has a diverse population with people from all around the world, let’s make a playlist that represents that!
What’s a song you listen to that you genuinely think is elite and that everyone should have in their playlist? It could be an all-time favourite, an evergreen/classic that never gets old, a song that you think is just too good, or even a song that represents your country or culture.
Drop the song + your country(if you’d like) and let’s see how diverse we can make this playlist.

What on Earth is this Dar-e-Nijat drama

Disclaimer: This is just my pov and interpretation of the drama. If you resonate with it, you’re more than welcome to agree. Otherwise I don’t mind anyone opposing me.

Seriously what on Earth is the character of Zaryaab??!! Kon bandi aesi cheap harkatein krti hy? Honestly the whole rich af family environment is just to sugarcoat the fact that her character and attitude is cheap. I don’t know if it’s a badly written character or Dur-e-Fishan’s acting doesn’t match or what is wrong with it but it just looks so bad. She is shown dominating and stubborn and honestly women look good when they know what they want. But she, her character, it makes you hate such women. Or it gives the general public a very bad perception of such women. And today’s episode was nothing different. That scene where the 3 sisters were planning to prepare for dance OH MY GOD!! Did the director ask them to act like how ppl act when they are faking being rich? Like kabhi friends k saath you wanna have fun aur ameer bougie types logon ki tarhan baat krnay ki acting krtay hain, that’s how those 3 were delivering the dialogues. Just horribleeeee!! The other actors are atleast better at acting and so their characters are not so insufferable.

Is anyone facing this with their skin? (men can answer too if they can be helpful)

I have a fair complexion overall but my face looks pale. Every time I get ready and put makeup on, I wanna do a low effort makeup like concealer under the eyes, blush, mascara, lipstick. But then I feel k my forehead looks pale and I have to apply concealer or foundation to make it all look even and brighter. I just don’t understand k why it’s like that. I am not stressed, I eat well, I have an active lifestyle poora din chalna phirna rehta hy tou why does my face look so lifeless? Sometimes it looks dark, sometimes pale. Koi noor he nahi raha chehray py. No youthful glow nothing. I am 25, I don’t have any heavy skincare routine either kiunk aik dafa kisi ordinary-something brand k products try kiay thay (I can’t recall the exact name) and it affected my skin so bad k I had to refrain from applying anything for a whole month in order to heal. Uskay baad sy panah maangi from any skincare products. So all I do in the name of skincare is wash my face with cold water in the morning. No soap nothing. Just a rinse. I don’t know if it’s dead cells accumulated on my face that make me look dull and pale or what.
Has anyone faced this and figured out something that worked for them?

My beginner luck is way too good

I have noticed it over the years that every time I play a card game with my friends or family, I always win. Even if it’s a new game, I win and continue to win it based on pure luck. I have no secret tips or tricks. Just a desire and excitement to win everytime we play. And honestly it makes me sad that the one thing I’m good at is haram 😭😭😭 I could honestly win a lottery or poker etc. But I know that stuff is haram. Even with family or friends we just play lightly we don’t make bets etc. Just a fun game to pass a good time. Why did Allah make me so good at something so haram that I can’t make a living out of it 😭

Disclaimer: This is just a rant please don’t take it seriously or personally and, for the love of god, don’t start preaching me in the comments k even family aur friends k saath bhi you can’t play and call it quality time 🙄

Does anyone here recognize her?

I used to follow this blogger from somewhere in Europe but recently my toddler nephew was using my phone and unfollowed a bunch of ppl including her and now I can’t find her account. I really wanna follow her account again. I don’t remember her username or what city she lived in but I think it was Paris. She had some amazing reels where she would do a weekly outfit check in the street and used people passing by as transitions. She also had another reel where she made a jewelry that looked like teardrops and minds wanted to give a message that even pain can be inspiration. I used to enjoy seeing her content but never paid attention to her username or anything else. Can someone point out or mention her @ if you recognize who I’m talking about. PLEASEEEE!!

Where were all such stationery stuff and offers back when I was in school? 😭 They even have places like miniso etc.. that sell such a HUGE and bougie variety of stationery. Back then, we just had Rawnaq or Ramez for stationery items 😭

tired of horrible experience (TWICE)

i’m a sucker for coloring books and doodles stuff so i thought of giving temu a shot. it’s something i’ve to do since childhood but i’m only able to do now. i bought an adult coloring book from temu and it was just NOT how it was in the picture. a lot of drawings had dark grey areas where i could not color and there was a lot of misaligned printing which didn’t make sense of the drawing. the pages were also rather thin. a while later i found another adult coloring book on temu and i just loved it. it described itself as “tracing, doodles, coloring” the pictures looked like the drawings in the book will be grey in color so i could use a black marker or gel pen to trace over it and then color it. but NO! the same experience as before. the drawings were all black and again there was some misprinting in almost every page and it was not the a calming book at all. both of them actually. i regret buying them so much. coloring in them gives me anxiety rather than calmness cuz it’s such a bad purchase. honestly, i could’ve printed out some b&w clipart images by myself and colored them or traced them in any way i liked. atleast they would’ve been better quality and without any misaligned printing. and i wouldn’t have the regret of spending money and waiting for so many days just for the disappointment to show up.

honestly, has anyone ever had the luck to actually get a good coloring book from temu? and you actually feel calm and satisfied with the purchase?

How is Pizza Hut still operating?

I’ve noticed this a lot in many pizza hut branches in Bahrain, they are all practically empty! I never see any customers yet there are so many pizza hut branches. I go to CC every other weekend and don’t find anyone ordering from pizza hut. I went to Marassi yesterday and was surprised to see a pizza hut branch there. Marassi Galleria is a new establishment and opening a pizza hut branch would mean they have demand or customers. But it was also empty 😭 I always wonder how are they even running all these branches and managing all the expenses when no one is buying their pizza? Anyone here who works in pizza hut or eats from pizza hut who can tell otherwise?

How do beginners approach annual reports and financial statements?

Can anyone guide me on how to download annual reports of listed companies?

I am an ACCA student and want to recreate income statements and learn how to analyze the financial reports of real-world companies. My goal is to get into the audit field, but I currently have very little knowledge of how audit works or what the interview and hiring process is like at the Big 4 or other audit firms.

Someone suggested a while back that I should start studying annual reports to improve my technical skills, become familiar with financial statements, and learn the terminology used in practice.

If you've done this before, I'd appreciate any guidance on:

* Where to find annual reports of listed companies
* Which companies are best for beginners
* How to approach analyzing them
* Any advice for someone interested in pursuing a career in audit

Thanks in advance.

I've Been Thinking About an Instagram Feature for Multi-Passionate People

As someone who has been creating content on Instagram for years, I think this may be the most important thing I've ever shared. I genuinely think it could solve one of the biggest problems on social media, and I have a feeling many of you will relate to it.

Over time, having multiple Instagram accounts has become completely normal. One for personal life, one for business, one for photography, one for art, one for pets, and one for all the random things we don't know where else to post. And honestly, it makes sense. We all have different interests, and sometimes it feels easier to give each one its own space. But recently, I found myself wondering: Why do we have to separate them in the first place? Why does a photographer have to only be a photographer online? Why does a food creator have to only post food? The moment they share something outside that category, engagement drops because the algorithm doesn't really understand that behind every account is a human being with different interests. We are not niches. Human beings aren't one-dimensional. A person can love photography and also love books, cooking, traveling, drawing, psychology, or simply sharing random moments from their life.

And then there's another thing I've noticed: my older personal account has access to features that my newer photography account doesn't. I can use trending music there, while my photography account is limited to stock audio. Even though that's the account where I need those features the most.

That got me thinking: maybe the issue isn't that people have too many interests. Maybe our platforms just haven't caught up with how people actually are. I have created a mockup that shows a simple idea: one main account with different tabs or sub-accounts for the different parts of a person's life.

I originally put together a mockup of what this could look like, but since some communities don't allow images, I wanted to share the idea itself and hear what others think.

The best part is that this solves multiple problems at once:
People stop juggling multiple accounts.
Followers can choose what they want to see.
The algorithm gets cleaner signals.
Creators don't feel forced into a niche.
Humans get to be humans again.

Instagram has already taught us how profile switching works. So what if profile switching wasn't for multiple accounts, but for multiple versions of the same person? People could choose what they want to see, while the algorithm learns their interests instead of forcing creators to fit into one box. Because at the end of the day, social media is supposed to connect people.

If this resonates with you, whether you're a creator, product designer, someone at Instagram (lol), or someone who's ever felt like they had to choose just one version of themselves online; I'd love to hear from you. Feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM.

I've been pleasantly surprised by how many people have connected with this concept already, and I'm genuinely curious to see where the conversation goes from here. If you'd use something like this, let me know. Every response helps me understand whether this is simply an interesting idea or a problem that millions of people have quietly been living with for years.
