Is it just my phone, or is the game excessively freezing/crashing?

The game freezes when an egg hatches. The game freezes when I complete a research task. The game freezes when I click on my Pokémon and it zooms to the gym to feed it a berry. Is this happening to everyone right now with the most recent release of the game? Once I restart the app, I can complete the research task and catch the Pokémon like nothing is wrong but then it freezes again if I want to check on my buddy. I can't seem to get it to stabilize. I have all of the assets downloaded and there are no updates in the app store so I have the most current version.
