Not sure if anyone else watched this two season AMC+ show with Annie Murphy, but the premise of it is a typical married sitcom couple and shot like one with bright lights and a laugh track. But it is actually dark because Kevin sucks and when Annie’s character isn’t around him it is shot more like a dark drama.
While the story isn’t similar, seeing the characters we love from TBBT filmed this way is so jarring, that is the show that comes to mind. It seems like completely different people (forgiving the aging) and it’s amazing the way a sitcom is lit and filmed can give off such a different vibe.
On the design choice for the iPhone foldable. I was super hesitant at the squat design but watching reviews of the Fold 8, it seems great! Looking at it compared to the Ultra which is what I thought I wanted, I like the passport size.
Now, price will decide if I jump in. $2500 is steep. If they can hit $2k I’m in.
In the past couple of days I have noticed my Always on Display on my iPhone 16 Pro Max (26.5.) dims way too much. Basically when I close my phone it looks normal for a second and then keeps dimming done where I can see it is still on but can’t see much of the screen at all.
This happens in all settings. Lights on in the basement, dark room, daylight in the office. I don’t have auto brightness on or reduce white point so I’m at a loss.
Wow. Some truly crazy noms today but Bell and the show as a whole not getting nominated is baffling. At least Gad got nominated but I’m just shocked and disappointed Jamie Bell didn’t get in.
Hey all. Looking to get a nice soundbar to finish my new set up in it basement. I got a LG S40T free with my C5 but looking at a JBL soundbar as I like the idea of the wireless speakers.
Amazon has the 800 soundbar on Prime deal for $600 right now for a couple more hours. It’s hard to find exactly but this looks like the original 800 not 800mk2 as it has two up firing drivers.
Seeing as this is a few years old, is this a good deal? The other options would be the 700mk2 for $650 or the 1000mk2 for $800.
Hey all. I’ve had my BiPAP machine for about 3.5 years and it has helped a ton.
Last night I noticed some noise coming from the machine but was tired so went back to sleep. This morning I noticed it still and woke me up took a video to show. It revs up when I inhale and gets louder if I inhale more.
Any idea what’s causing this? I’d rather not have to buy a new machine after 3.5 years.
I’m having option paralysis trying to decide a new tv for my new set up.
Details: basement set up with no direct sunlight. Uses will be movies and tv/sports streamed from Apple TV. Video games via PS5. Sitting distance undetermined as of yet but flexible.
Budget: $2k but have a little flexibility.

I’m finishing my basement and setting up a movie/gaming area for myself. No windows on that side. I’m looking for something over 80” and budget $2k-$2.5k USD.
My use case as I said is watching movies, sports and gaming on my PS5. I’ve seen mixed messages on the gaming side across my research for the QM9K.
Curious for those who have it how it is going and if it have similar use cases? Any other TVs in that size/price range I should consider? I know a lot of people recommend OLED for dark spaces but I would have to settle for smaller tv for my price range.
How about the QM8L? I don’t know much about the differences in the K and L series. Price would need to come down some.
Do we think the price may drop below $2k for prime day sales?
Appreciate any and all perspectives!
I’m finishing my basement and looking to get a new TV for my theater area. The space won’t be closed off from the rest of the basement but it will be dark - there is one window on the opposite side of the stairs that are walled off.
I will be using it for movies and gaming. I’m looking at the 85” range and hoping to stay around $2k up to $2.5k. I’m currently eyeing the TCL QM9K. I’ve read OLED is great for dark spaces but for the price and size I wouldn’t find one that fit.
Open to suggestions.
I'm setting up my basement and getting the Sync Box 2. I'm looking to add some lamps to go with it for Dreamview and right now the Floor Lamp 3 Lite is on sale for $90 while the Lamp 3 is $150.
I can see on the site the Lamp has higher lumen and of course the illuminated base, but wondering if there is that much difference in performance for movies/games compared to the Lamp 3 Lite for the price difference?
We are finishing our basement and setting aside space for a home theater. It’s not fully enclosed from the rest but better than what I have and space to watch movies and game.
For the TV I’m targeting the TCL QM9K 85”. I’m really looking to stay around $2k but can go to $2.5k. I’d like something 80” or bigger - I’ve only ever gone up to 65”. I know I’ve seen the LG C5 recommended but for the price range I’d have to stay 65”.
Are there any other recs for that range and size? I’m also open to a projector and screen if it’s in the range and worth it.

For me, Gone Girl had the most out of nowhere twist. Maybe others saw it coming but I literally had to go back and see if I skipped pages because I didn’t realize what was happening. Other thrillers usually aren’t as shocking to me even if I didn’t guess. The other for me I guess would be the Silent Patient.
What other twists have caught you so off guard and elevated a book for you? Please try to be vague if you can as not to spoil.
Hey all - I am finishing my basement and setting up a basement living room/movie room. I want to add some ambient lighting as our upstairs living room is not really set up for. I'm open to suggestions on what Govee products to get. Right now I have smart lightbulbs for my garage lights and office, so know the system.
Let me know what has worked for you!
I’ve owned a couple of misfitting sports coats. Looking to buy a new one for an upcoming work event. The first is a 50R and the second 52R. I have broad shoulders. Feel like the 52 feels better on my shoulder but looks like too much space in the stomach area. The 50 looks better with arms down but okay for the collar to bow and create the X when arms are moving?
Need help!
