"This story so bad even Alia can't save it" 😱

This is what I see everyone saying when Alia's movies flop, be it Jigra or Kalank or this Alpha or Sadak 2. All the movies will be marketed as Alia's movie, she'll be the face of every promotional event, and when the movie fails, it's not only someone else's fault, reviews are written as if Alia is some real Meryl Streep who doesn't deserve such box office results, as if we the audience are too foolish to understand such high IQ content. And now, there's this new thing - if you get negative reviews, the reason is apparently patriarchy, and not the movie itself.

In a tricky situation with this paeeeing geest

So, I think these guys have their people here too. I took up a room at this place after seeing good reviews on reddit. So, this paeeeing geest has two propeeertiees in Kharadi and in Viman Nagar. So, since I moved in back in May, there was no hot water in my room. I kept requesting them for whole of May and June, they kept saying plumber will come, wait, wait, and finally they revealed to me that this room has no solar connection for hot water. Throughout June they kept telling me they'll provide me some alternative, and finally I got tired and gave up. Now I heat water in my kettle four times to get hot water for bath. The only reason I didn't leave this place immediately is because the reeent is 16k and food is okayish and on time, and I'm trying to save money.

Now comes the main part. I had moved here in May with a lockin period of 3 months agreed upon. I had e-signed an agreement on their app through Zoho with the same clauses. The agreement is full of red flags. First of all, after I signed, only my sign appears on the doc, the owner's name is only there. There is a clause stating sec dep of 16k will be returned 15 days after dep, that too with some exit charges deducted. Since I was in a bit of hurry, I hadn't read the whole doc and noticed these things. Now, I noticed that the manager or someone from their end has changed my moveein date to June and lockin to 6 months. There is no use talking to the guys at the reception, they will do nothing. Earlier I would email the prop's email ID and get reply, but ever since I mailed them regarding this, there has been no reply. I'm sure no one is going to rectify whatever they updated as they wanted. This restricts me from moving out till December, or initiating notice till then.

The crazy part is that they call themselves H***** Propeerteeee Solutions Ltd, but the company has no presence whatever. They have a website but I haven't been able to find the domain owner. It's also surprising how they have 5 stars in all their reviews, which is also what I had seen for my previous which was just pathetic.

I do know for a fact that these people try their hardest to retain the sec dep, making excuses. This room is just a cage with a small window opening to a jungle, no ventilation, no hot water, no table or chair, one working plug point, only pro being a working AC. I really need to moveeeout, but please let me know what I can do regarding that 16k. It's not possible for me to go find a lawyer after my 9-to-9 job or threaaaten these guys in any way. Max I can do is go to the cops, but I'm new to Maharashtra, and I dunno how this will work out. Is there any way to find out who this propertee is registered under? I'm not rich enough to let 16k go, and not brave enough to get into a fight with these people all alone. Please suggest, TIA.

P.S. Words distorted as apparently using the word proprteee is asking for accmdtion on this sub.

Places to visit on foot or by public transport

Hi people of the beautiful city, I will be staying at Laxman Jhula for a week and wanted to know if there are any good spots I can visit by walk or by public transport, since I don't know how to ride or drive. I came to this city years ago with friends and visited only Secret Waterfall, Parmarth Niketan, Tapovan. This time, I only want to walk to, and spend few moments of solitude in some quiet, peaceful places where it would be safe for a solo female traveller to sit alone. I love sitting quietly in secluded places, but not so secluded that I have to stay scared of monkeys and random things. I know Rishikesh is pretty safe but not sure how the transport is. I'm trying to understand things from maps but thought I may get better inputs here. So, if any kind person could help suggest places, lmk and thanks in advance.

Where to go in Himalayas this July?

Reaching Delhi this weekend but nothing planned next. I'm planning for a quiet solo workation and my only prerequisite is stable WiFi and power backup. So remote areas are out of options, as I checked out most of the hotel reviews in these places. Even Mussoorie, Naggar, Dalhousi hotels have wifi outages. Remaining are Manali, Rishikesh, Dehradun are just cities or towns. I want some mountain views too. Some place that won't have to be reached by tough roads like Shoja or someplace that can be cut off due to landslides (even for Manali, we got caught up in a 8-hr traffic due to one landslide near Mandi last year). I can't go to North-East as I've booked flight till Delhi and from there going to NE will be out of my budget. I will restrict myself somewhere within HP, UK, Leh, PB etc. Please suggest, TIA.

Walking trail in North India for beginners

Is there any trek in North India which is basically a long trail, maybe with stairs or some low incline, but not any steep climbs? No river crossings or slippery trails please. Something that's solo friendly, technically easy, beginner-level. I'm not looking for a small or short trail but long one. Please lmk.

An IQ of 500? Swiggy fee Transparency

Pic 1 is what they show you. Apparently they want you to think you are saving the Rain Surge Fee (they apply this even when it's cloudy) for being a Swiggy One Customer. But no, only if one expands the GST and Other Charges column, then only they can see that the Rain Fee is still there, just renamed, along with GST on Rain Fee.

Do you remember any time in high school when you were bullied by a teacher?

I was. I used to be one of THOSE kids. No friends, easy to single out and pick upon. I was such a quiet child that I had no friends growing up. I'd find myself sitting alone in some classes, or without a voluntary partner in some lab experiments. Now that I think about it, it must have been noticeable to the teachers. Generally, teachers in our school paid attention to nothing in our lives except academics (this is the early 2010s). The thing I was made fun of for, was being skinny. I used to weigh 39 kilos as girl. My parents used to drop me to school, they were super conservative.

So, in one of the chemistry lab sessions, I was on the dais to submit my notebook, and the 50yo male professor said it. I won't mention what he said. But whatever he said, made the whole class burst into laughter. So, before me, many other students had done the same mistake (a minor one), but he made up a snarky comment regarding my skinnyness. It was a targetted attack. I still wonder how he felt saying that. There was nothing I could do except smile back at him, as everyone was laughing, so yk I had to accept the humour. I'm sure I must have turned red, even today almost a decade and half later, I remember the blood gushing to my cheeks, as I was stood there on the dais, a joke for everyone to enjoy. I wanted to vanish or to melt into the earth.

The question I still carry today is why would he choose to single out and bully me if he had the option to be kind? What makes someone think that bullying would be fun or smart?

Idk why this memory came back today all of a sudden. I grew up an underconfident child and I did have friends later in college. But some scars don't go away. It makes ne conscious even today sometimes, but I don't care. The girl who used to cry herself to sleep after getting bullied in class, doesn't care about people now at 30. I think I would have been a more considerate person if people had been kinder to me as a kid. Now, something inside me is just dead.

Triggered by next door neighbour's loud long phone calls

So, Idk if this is anxiety is not. It makes me feel very irritated and triggered, Idk what's the term for it.

So, I happen to live in a Paying Guest accommodation in India, where it's mostly students and office-going people in their 20s living in single or shared rooms. The walls must be super thin, because I can hear, like HEAR even the snores of my senior neighbour who would be 50 or 6o maybe. She's on calls all day when she's in the room, and she talks so LOUDLY, it's as if the whole floor can hear it. She sometimes takes calls in the corridor too. Perfectly fine in her own right, she has every right to do so. But it's so triggering for me. I'm someone who is used to office-like workspaces where people do shout a lot in meetings sometimes, but this old lady's loud convos are so triggering, even when I'm not trying to pay any attention. Maybe it's the voice or the decibels, but I can't gather my thoughts or focus on any of them as long as she's yapping. Maybe because it's not like ambient noise. Everything is so quiet around me, people my age here don't talk to each other much, keep to their own business, and it's all shush. And amidst all this, it's her high-pitched voice piercing through the silence. And the topic is almost always gossip. I can't blare music on my headphones all the time, I can't do anything about this either as she's got the right to do whatever.

As someone who's lived in rented homes or better accommodations her whole life, this makes me feel as if I'll go mad if this goes on. All day, I'll just wait for night, for her to stop shouting. I don't even feel so triggered by the honking vehicles on a busy road, or the chants of a crowd. How do I control my mind in this environment?

I missed an interview and was only able to inform the recruiter one hour late, no reply, how to know if I'm blacklisted or anything.

So, I was terribly ill last few days, I was still expecting to be able to take the interview today since it was a virtual one. But since morning, I was nauseous and throwing up. I mailed the HR at around 8, but the thing is my phone's screen is glitching, and I didn't notice that somehow the mail was in my outbox. I was really sick after that, almost passing out. 1 hour after the interview time, I opened my laptop as my phone screen was still acting up. I noticed the mail didn't get sent. Btw, I had HR's contact but couldn't call her due to the touchscreen issue. I was somehow able to notice a few notifs of her missed calls. That's when I realized I was a no-show without intimation. The worst thing to happen to a candidate who really wanted the job.

I immediately mailed her again from my PC, but I haven't received any reply from her. This is a product MNC, what are the chances of me getting blacklisted from the company?

I think this is not an appropriate post for the sub but I wanted opinions of any recruiters or HMs here, or anyone who can provide inputs.

How to get feedback from past interviewers without their contacts?

So, till now, for all the companies I've interviewed at, they use some or the other portal or whatever where I can't see the mails of the interviewers. So lately, I've been interviewing at few places and even if the last round's Director or HR says feedback is good in the technical rounds, I'm getting ghosted after coming home. Idk what's lacking here if the tech rounds went well acc to them. There are many possibilities ofc like someone was better than me in those same rounds, or someone's experience matched the team requirements to a T. But I really want to improve my own resume and skills to land an offer, for which I desperately need some feedback. How do I get that?

It's not okay to ping a director on Linkedin and ask him right, lol? It would be awkward to send requests to the other interviewers or ask them for f/b too. Anyway, no one replies on Linkedin. The HRs never get back, so it's useless asking them. How do I get feedback on how to improve guys? This is really confusing me as I'm not sure where else I can improve. Please help.

Even a staunch social recluse, I am not able to focus in my room

Idk what the hell is wrong with me. I've grown up with major ADHD (undiagnosed but as I learnt about it later, I realized I have all the glaring signs). Throughout school or college, however good the teachers were, I wasn't able to focus on classes ever. All I could do was to take notes, and try to understand them later at home. I have always self-studied from yt teachers one week before exams. I'm 30 today and things are different in a weird way.

Now, the thing is that I am very ambitious and driven. Once I have a purpose, I'll even avoid friends and family to achieve it. Not a healthy thing I agree, but I'm socially weird and not an ideal child, so no one misses me either. I have to constantly experiment with my study environment. You could give me the most luxurious apartment all to my self, but I'd have a hard time focussing even at the most comfortable ergonomic study setup. Even if it works for a couple of days, it doesn't last long. After a few days, I'll find myself back in the bed on my phone after 10 mins of study.

I've observed that I need open spaces, maybe a rooftop cafeteria, a hostel workspace, or one of those shared workspaces or study rooms, to focus. I need to look up at the sky every now and then. My seating needs to be rather uncomfortable lol. I think easy access to beds is my enemy. What surprises me the most is that I function really well when there are strangers around me doing their own work, people who don't bother me, and where the ambience doesn't need me to forcibly socialize. I don't feel a conscious if everyone around me is having a chat and I'm studying my notes, I'm used to it. But I feel strangely conscious when people try to initiate convos and try to understand what I'm doing. It's really weird that, as someone who lives without social interaction round the year, needs human presence around for the brain to function. Am I broken?

I have a lot of social anxiety but it's like this. I've mastered the art of living alone, eating out alone, travelling solo, going to the movies alone. Not been able to attend a concert solo till now though. But the anxiety pops in only when I HAVE to carry a conversation or I get the feeling of being judged (it comes from a lot of childhood baggage and unhealed trauma throughout childhood and teenage). Also, ts is taking a toll on my pocket as I'm just not able to study unless I book a workdesk every other weekend, I'm broke.

I really don't know how to deal with these feelings. I don't have the finances for a therapist atp. Does anyone else feel the same about their work environment? I know a lot of us prefer to work from office may be for the same reason. But I usually hide myself from my colleagues and I end up leaving at lunch time to avoid them lol.

Which societies offer decent 1bhks in Bangalore within budget of 60-75L?

I'm looking for areas in or around Sarjapur, Indiranagar, HSR, Murgeshpalya etc. And preferably high rise. I've lived earlier in a so-called 1bhk of 550 sq ft, so I am okay with 1bhk of 600 sq ft too.

Thanks in advance.

The feeling after you flunked an interview you knew you'd flunk

I'm sitting here laughing my ahh out at the code I wrote. And this was a FAANG level company, one of THE dream companies. I knew I was underprepared, but still got my hopes high thinking that I'll be able to do it. Atp, I do realize that I lack practice. I mean, the interviewer was all cool and polite, and the question wasn't even tough. Y'all should see the kindergarten level code I came up with after staring blankly at the screen for 10 mins, and backtracing my steps every other line. I'm just thinking how he resisted laughter. Oh my, I'm screwed.

I'm so cooked, because this company has 1 year cooldown period and this was one of my last chances to get the job I wanted and I've ruined it, yet I'm on survival mode in life.

I'm 30 and I got laid off last year, and it took me 6 months to find my current job which I hate, and ughh I hate my life. I've been trying for the last one year, but different companies have so different expectations. Till now, I've been asked questions from the IPs I've worked on, all protocols: PCIe, CXL, AMBA, DDR, MOESI, Computer Architecture, Digital Vlsi concepts, Low Power, coding in C, Python, and ofc SystemVerilog, UVM in (which I'm intermediate level coz I mastered a different non-industry-standard verification methodology at my last role for 5 years), GPUs, Graphics Pipelines, Servers, Validation, Emulation, Coverage, Bugs, and what not. Every time I think whoaa I'm quite knowledgeable in these areas, a new one pops up. I kinda agree I don't have "transferable skills" in coding languages, but I kinda feel bad that I get rejected in smaller companies whose products have so less complicated architectures than what I've worked on, and who give offers to people from not so good universities and service based companies. I feel bad that I even think this way coz I know those other candidates are good, but I'm just a jealous old bich.

I need a job in Bangalore asap but not able to crack interviews

As a bit of a career background, I got laid off in a mass layoff from an MNC, my office was in Bangalore for 5 years. Post that I was unemployed for 5 months, which drove me desperate to whatever job I get. I got a job in a smaller in Pune. Now, this city may be good for others, but it's made me almost dead. The harsh weather makes me sick and gives me migraines. Also, I plan to bring in my family from Kolkata to live with me in the future and Bangalore is the optimal place for us to settle. For that, I need a job in BLR asap. Most companies want F2F interviews and it's burning my pockets to travel back and forth between the two cities.

Meanwhile I have attended a couple of interviews but got rejected. I understand I just need some time for preparation, but that's what I'm running out of: time. Now, due to these health issues and travel related issues, I'm skeptical I may be at PIP danger if I don't put in more efforts in my new job. But my mind is all the time focussed on how to get another job. How do I navigate this phase? I can take care of the technical efforts, all I lack is time and the balancing between this job. Also, I'm falling sick so often after moving here, and my expenses have actually increased. I also took a paycut in the in-hand salary to join this job. I could apply to all the jobs rn but I know I'm out of touch with some technical subjects that those roles require. Years of burnout and career related anxiety, moving between roles has brought me to such a position that I freeze in interviews. Idk what to do. Please advise.

Is there any way to get back security deposit if I leave before lock-in period?

So I live in a PG where I have paid one month's rent as security deposit. Now, they have a solar system in the building and due to some issue, my room has no hot water. I have health issues due to which I can't take bath without hot water, and they have refused to address this issue or do anything after a month of raising complaints. I cannot stay at this place anymore but I have a 3-month lockin period and an online rental agreement signed with them. I have only spent one month here and I need to give one month notice for move out. Is there any way I could leave before 3 months?
