Discovered 130 Warm Olive as it was going out of production (RIP) and it is legitimately my first perfect shade match ever! I just received it in the mail and was lucky to get it half off directly from the brand right as the Labor Day sale ended.

guys I tumbled this load of laundry 4 times total because I kept putting off getting it out over the span of 48 hours. I am so lucky this didn’t explode. HELP 😭

do we think this could be salvageable? I am of course just throwing it away but I was wondering if I happened to do this with like a really expensive lip gloss if I would be able to part with it even under these circumstances… I have to believe I would be strong enough to just toss it instead of giving myself a deluxe microplastic lip mask

$6 Pro Filt’r sample in the ONLY LIGHT OLIVE SHADE FENTY CARRIES?!?!? Okay Ross Dress for Less 😌.

Because it’s described as warm olive, I’ve never picked it up, especially at its typical price point — I am a true neutral that leans warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter, so I figured it would be way too yellow.

While I was concerned about the depth and yellowiness when first swatching it onto my arm (photo 4), it literally disappeared into my neck, which thankfully is a little darker (photo 3).

This is a beautiful foundation with nice mattifying medium coverage. I can’t wait to try a full face of it and I’m honestly so happy with the shade match! It’s a big enough container that I’ll get at least a month of use out of it… we’ll see how it fares long-term 🗣️🎉🥳

sooooooooo soft and velvety. am I about to become a matte lip girlie again? I didn’t think a cool-toned brick lip (red + brown + enough blue that it isn’t orange) was possible but I finally landed on this after trying so many other alternatives. definitely recommend.

It’s so dreamy. I love it. It’s the first time I’ve been able to get color payoff like this from a lip stain. It really sticks around too. A great cool-toned berry — probably too intense if you’re extra fair, but there are so many other olive friendly shades in this lineup that you should have no trouble finding one you like!

I have this disability called hEDS that severely impacts the body’s collagen production. Because of it, my skin sags faster; it gives this effect (one I’ve always hated) that I’m melting. My skin literally hangs off of my bones, or at least that’s what dysmorphia can make me feel like.

It follows then, that this makeup look was an exercise in highlighting an insecurity, yet it genuinely (I mean it) made me love that insecurity. The power of makeup is incredible. I truly am addicted. 🤫

Buyer Beware: not nearly as cool-toned as product photos would lead you believe. It’s cute, but imo, not worth $27. Once Rare Beauty expands the shades in their Soft Pinch Lip Oil line, personally, I’m of the mind that there will be no reason to get any alternative. I have Muse, and the feel, opacity, and application are all superior to Gloss Bomb Stix formula. I was told by multiple people that this formula is not patchy. Gonna have to disagree, sadly (especially, again, compared to the advertising) . If it were $15, this whole review would be a different story. But for the luxury price tag, I’m skeptical.

Lastly, this lip liner is truly a no-go. I only bought it because it was cheaper to get both than to get just the lip. So feathery, so hard to get even, so hard to sharpen, very fragile, not easy to blend. I would choose any of my drugstore lip liners over this one. Color payoff is great but I have nothing else nice to say about it. I’m sorry if you love these products cause man oh man I had such high hopes and I feel soooo disappointed. Maybe I’m missing something skills-or-tools-wise?

It took two trips and (I’m not kidding) TEN different employees to finally get a recommendation that was anywhere near Bespoke.

The reason I’m so hellbent on it is because it’s what I would call a cool, desaturated mauve, but it still shows a hint of red. These are hard to come by — many things marketed as “mauve” are peachy or even just a midtone pink. When I found Bespoke, on the contrary, I was looking for a shade reminiscent of bruises or undereye circles: a bluish red drained of all orange. The orange!!! (In the above swatches, you’re looking at Storm which is too orange and Mauve Blush which is too pink).

So naturally, I fell in love with the true cool shade instantly, but the formula was so shoddy I could literally just wipe all the pigment off with a swipe of my finger. I even tried setting it in-store with Laura Mercier’s setting powder (to no avail). Needless to say, have been hunting for a dupe for a few weeks.

The final employee I asked today pointed me to Rare Beauty — a brand I know plenty well, but had never considered for a shade like this. While it may seem hard to believe, when I put Rare Beauty’s Believe and Merit’s Bespoke side by side, I got inordinately excited (sorry I don’t have a picture, that’s how excited I was; lord knows I live and breathe this formula). You seriously would not think it looking at both of them in the packaging, but they were truly indistinguishable!

So here’s to all of us who are still just plumbing the depths of the earth for their perfect muted cool mauve. Maybe give this one a try!

I have been so drawn to this newest shade, Black’r Berry, but I’m worried about the formula being patchy or sticky based on the way a swatch applies to the hand. Has anyone used this product (especially in this shade) or should I just dispense with my pipe dream of a $27 lip gloss that’s actually worth the money, lmaooo?

Fair to mention — I have the Rare Beauty Lip Oil Stick in Muse, and while I love the formula, none of the colors excite me. I’m not looking for alternatives really, I love the exact color of the Black’r Berry gloss and I want that one specifically. If it’s not right, I’m not even considering getting an alternative.
